Tuesday March 25, 2025 we came here to try the food. We ordered the Kalbi and the Kim Chee Fried Rice. It's easier to park on the road if you can find an open parking stall on Keeaumoku or on Kanunu Street by the former Ross's store. The service was fast and friendly by the waiter Jay? Jae? The Kalbi was well marinated and the Kim Chee Fried Rice has a good taste to it. Next time, we will try the Stir Fried Spicy Squid and the Meat Jun. This place has become our go-to spot whenever we hang out with friends, and everyone is always really happy with the experience. The food is delicious, and the staff are genuinely friendly and welcoming. The prices are also very reasonable for the quality. The karaoke is only $1 per song (most other places charge $2), and the sound system is surprisingly good, which makes singing even more fun. The jokbal (Korean braised pork feet) here is seriously amazing -- one of our favorites -- but make sure to order it in advance since it can sell out. This place is an awesome spot for a small group to do karaoke and have some grindz without breaking the bank. No room rental fee, just pay $1/ song. To get service, pick up the phone and someone will come take your order. They came so quick too! Staff are what make this experience so awesome. They are friendly, provide fast service and are so patient with explaining how the karaoke machine works. They also kept refilling our water jugs. The food was tasty. The song menu was pretty extensive. The soju drinks were yummy (get the apple lime!). The location is central and a lot of businesses share the parking lot so it will fill up at peak times. The only downside was the bathroom. It's like something out of Times Square NYC/ Requiem of a Dream. We went in pairs bc it felt sketchy, it was filthy and the stalls' doors hit my knees when I was using the toilet (I'm only 5'2"!!). Every time I come here, I'm given such excellent service! The staff here is so attentive and friendly. They're food is great, and their drink selection is also great. They do get busy towards the late at night, so if you're coming here to eat, I recommend coming in before 9 pm. The only downside here is the price of their foods and drinks. They are on the more expensive side, but their portions are pretty large. I usually street park about a block away and walk over since they're free after 6 pm (I believe). Came here for a very late dinner for 2 around 11:30pm. It was empty on a Monday night. The store is pretty cold so bring a jacket lol. It was bumping music and the karaoke rooms looked spacious. We got the... Stir fry kimchi pork with tofu: This was refreshing! The warm, tart kimchi pork paired well with the cold tofu. It hit my cravings for sure. Spicy chicken gizzard: The flavor was delicious! I loved the hot, sizzling chicken gizzard. Probably my favorite pocha food. We washed these down with refreshing makgeolli. I will tell you, there is not much bars that give good service! And this place is one that I can say, even though it was relatively busy, We got some great customer service! Shoutout to the servers, Nikki and KALEO! They handle! Haha Their menu is very simple and self explanatory. The food is simply amazing! Nothing too insane, but when you have a nice drink in your hand then it really doesn't matter what the food is like. They have a numerous amount of sojus as well. I tried the Lychee Yogurt and it was my favorite!!! Meat jun was nice and soft. Kim chee fried rice is always scary for me because I can't tolerate spice well. I still got it and it was perfectly seasoned. The furikake and the egg really made it pop and gave the little hint of salt it really needs. The mandoo was nice and THICK, you can tell it must be homemade because it tastes like fresh ingredients! The only thing that was basic was the steak. It did need a touch of salt, but I loved the grilled onions. Overall, the ambiance was lively and clean. The bathroom was interesting to say the least, but still well maintained! My friends and I were chilling on the beach Saturday to catch the sunset and decided to try to go for karaoke last minute. I called around a couple places and was excited to see Cafe Gangnam had a room available. I guess karaoke isn't as popular of an activity here? If this was SF there's no way I'd be able to get a private karaoke room reservation Saturday night on the same day. We booked their large room (seats up to 10 people) for 2 hours at 7:30. There is a paid parking lot, but it's shared across the whole plaza, and there's a ton of restaurants, so there's definitely not enough spots. We ended up parking across the street for free in the Walmart parking garage. First thing I noticed upon walking in is that it's also a bar and restaurant that happens to have some private karaoke rooms. The price is very afforable here; they don't charge for the room itself (there's also no food or drink minimum), only for the number of songs you sing. It costs $1 per song, and you pay by putting cash into the machine. I've been to a lot of private karaoke spots and have never seen this method of charging before. They offer food and drinks, but we just got the seafood pancake ($10) and the spicy rice cakes ($13) to share. Both were good. The rice cakes were a bit on the sweet side and not that spicy. You choose songs by searching either by artist or song title on the TV screen. It was a bit confusing for us initially to figure out how to look up and input songs, but after a couple of mishaps we eventually figured it out. They also have books, but it was much easier to search on the screen. They offer songs in many different languages, but we primarily just looked at the American songs. Sadly the song selection was a bit limited. They had some random new songs but not everything. Each song was accompanied by a video that looked like it was straight out of a kpop music video. We were pretty amused the entire time. We sang 25 songs for the two hours we were here, so $25 is such a good deal for just the karaoke portion. read more

I had the best time here singing karaoke and enjoying their food and drinks! We were able to make a reservation for a karaoke room on a Tuesday for a Friday night. We showed up at 7 thinking we could catch their happy hour, but they informed us that they aren't doing their happy hour menu anymore until Oahu is fully open and they can open until 2 am. We were disappointed but nevertheless we still had a great night. We ordered a ton of food and drinks. Stand out for me was the kimchi fried rice, seafood jun, and spicy pork and tofu. Soju cocktails are always good. All the food and drinks were reasonably priced compared to other Korean bars. The karaoke room we had was big enough to fit 6 of us. It felt pretty sound proof so the outside couldn't hear our terrible singing. The room is free and each song is only $1. They have Korean, Chinese, and English songs to choose from. The staff was so friendly and they always checked up on us in our room to see if we wanted to order more food and drinks (which we did). Seriously so great. I can't recommend this place enough, I had such a great time. They have a small parking lot in front which they share with all the restaurants in that plaza. For me, it's usually the third stop of the night, sam-cha. It can get ugly. Most of the regulars pre-game with food and drink somewhere else - Shabuya hot pot or Chez Kengo heavy pupus. Once you hit this stage of your night it's often about buying and receiving shots - it's not about getting crazy, it's just custom and courtesy. Ordering something to nibble on is a must. Besides potato, chive, or seafood pancakes, there are common anju like fruit or vegetable plates; a classic dried anju plate of dried squid (Ojingeo) and filefish, (Jwipo) w some peanuts. The Korean style rolled egg omelette, (Gyeran Mari) is very good. And do not overlook the appeal of two cans of Vienna Sausage - this is home style comfort food! I've been here on several drunken excursions. It's the most Korean bar in Honolulu. Unlike Back Alley Cafe, they have pineapple and passionfruit soju, which I like to mix with Sprite to make a refreshing carbonated cocktail (like a chuhai). The menu is extensive, and everything I tried was delicious, they have karaoke (not sure how much it costs), and for service, in true Korean fashion, they have the buttons! Best customer service ever. There were 4 of us, in which my friends and I reserved a karaoke room at 5:30, but tried to see if we can decorate with balloons with confetti and banners before then. When they just opened at 5pm, they were really nice and willing to hold the cake and allowed us to decorate the room. If you are hanging things, please be sure to bring blue tape/painter's tape, so you don't ruin the paint on the wall. Afterwards, we went to pick up our friends and came back around 6pm, and double-check how long we reserved the room to factor in how much I would need to pay for parking, which was about 3-4 hours ($8). The employees was very nice and accommodating while checking in often to see if we needed anything. The karaoke room was smaller than I expected, but we were in there comfortably with a microphone and a huge list of songs in English, Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, etc. If you put in a number of dollars into the machine, I recommend queue-ing your favorite songs, or it will repeat the last song and can eat your money. For the menu, it was reasonably priced and very delicious. We ordered fish cake soup, corn cheese, meat jun, seafood pancake, Korean spicy rice cake, fried chicken wings, pineapple mango soju, and strawberry melona soju. According to the parking attendant I've talked to at Samsung Plaza, there will be no one at the booth after 5:30pm, but need to scan a QR code to pay for parking online via Parklinq and must include your license plate or you will be towed. There is also a $1.10 to pay for parking online, and SamSung Plaza offers prepaid flat rate depending on the weekday and weekend as well. PARKING: 30 Minute = $1.00 Validated Stamp = 30 Minute Once the party was over, we tried to clean up and popped all of our balloons, but the confetti was everywhere, so we tried to ask if we can use their brooms, and they told us that they can clean it, which was really nice of them, considering a huge mess we made and made sure they deserve a huge tip. If you are unable to find parking, you could try find street parking or park at Walmart, but please consider the possibility of your car towing if you are unaware of the signs around the area. They also don't have happy hour, but what was really nice about this place was that you don't need to pay to book a room, and only pay for the amount of songs ($1 per song!) and food, of course! :D read more

Based on the food and service, I would give this place a solid five. I was pleasantly surprised at how they really got the Korean army stew just right. The fried chicken gizzard was my husband's choice, but it was delicious, too. The soju cocktail was pretty watered down, but I have very low tolerance for alcohol, so it worked out okay for me. The employees were very helpful and friendly, and there was a service button you could press to call them. As far as the karaoke, though, I don't like the idea of paying $1 per song. You know how sometimes you choose a song and then realize you don't really know the song as well as you thought you did, so you decide to cancel it midway? Well, with this setup, if you cancel the song, it's a waste of $1 that you already put into the machine. Café Gangnam is located on Keeaumoku street in the Samsung Plaza, across from Walmart. This bar is a chill/fun place to go for pupu's and drinks. We decided to come here for Happy Hour (which is from 5-8PM). They have $9 food specials. We ordered chicken nuggets, Korean style omelet and shoyu vienna sausage. The pupu's were great for us to pick on while we were drinking. They also have Karaoke rooms available if you feel like singing. read more
