Boyfriend got the Coffee, and Key Lime Pie. Key Lime had a great tartness 9/10. Boyfriend reported this was the best coffee ice cream he has every had. Super coffee flavor 9/10. I thought the portion for the price was reasonable and that you can get 2 flavors for the price a very good deal. As it is a small shop (aka small bench inside), I usually grab a pint or if the weather is nice, a cup or cone to enjoy outside. There's some benches just at the corner and some sitting options if you cross the ave. Parks nearby, including a dog park and Millcreek Ravine. Both not far. Just depends on how active you want to be when you enjoy your ice cream. Price point is average for what is being charged in Edmonton. So this is still in a treat category.

I don't live in this area, so the walk was further than I had anticipated. So I got to Kind Ice Cream already feeling the effects of some heat stroke. And while ice cream isn't probably the best solution (drinking water would be better) it's not the worst, right? Ice cream is a good idea, or the dairy-free alternative is since I'm lactose-intolerant. Kind Ice Cream has three choices for me from their regular menu, and they usually have a dairy-free alternative in their rotating menu. I went for one of their standards Lemon and Jammy Raspberry. I'm a fan of anything Raspberry flavour and this was delicious. My first visit at Kind Ice Cream but not my last. 0 out of 5 for heat stroke. 5 out of 5 for the ice cream.

Thought of improvement might be to have a few smaller sandwich boards (again, as there's always a line up) spaced out with some of the more popular or new flavors. The parking is in the church parking lot. So tons of parking that way. There is no path directly to the window or even up to the shack but the main sidewalk does pass by it off Ellerslie. This does make it a bit of a challenge for those with mobility aids or families with littles. As there's mini berm along the length of parking and a drainage area you need to cross to get near the shack or walk the full length of the parking lot to go in where it is more level (but I don't think more dry). They do have some carpet down to minimize the mud pit vibes closer to the shack itself. Minimal tables for such a LARGE crowd that shows up. Truly, I don't think I have passed by where there isn't a line. So if it's a dry day, I would just bring a blanket to sit on the berm. Lots of good grass but direct sun. So slather on that SPF for ice cream enjoyment. There is one port-a-pottie on the far end of the church side of the parking lot. Didn't use it but I noted it isn't something someone disabled would be able to use well. Overall, a well attended ice cream shack in the area.

It's busy every time we come but we always get served in a time and friendly way. Last time we brought a whole bunch of family with us with small kids. The staff were patient and kind as we figured out what everyone wanted. My favourite so far this year had been the salted caramel. My mom says it's her favourite waffle cone ever! The quality of the ice cream and the variety of both traditional and more creative flavours is on par with other small batch ice creams shops in the city. It's worth checking out for sure.

Menchie's is a frozen yogourt specialized store founded outside Los Angeles in 2007. Menchie's has many yogourt flavours as well as toppings, which includes chocolate, candy, fruits and syrups. The paying system is a little different from other places - you pick up a bowl at the entrance, take the yogourt and toppings and finally, you pay by weight. Edmonton's location was very bright (in the sense of bright and vibrant colours) and nicely decorated. I went with my wife and friends and it was a very enjoyable experience, while enjoying delicious frozen yogourt. It was my first time at Menchie's, and I really liked it, the flavours I chose, including dark chocolate and orange flavours, were really delicious and different from regular ice cream.

They have decent sized scoops for the price and kind staff. Picnic tables and chairs on either side of the shack. Usually see the place busy with families that fill up the picnic tables. I have made this place an option several years in a row for my larger cousin gatherings of summer ice cream enjoyment for birthday celebrations. Finding it is really easy and you can see it right off Broadmoor. If you miss the corner, just go around the block. Best to go into the parking lot knowing that most of the foot traffic is right there at the entrance with ice cream in hand. So a lot of people are distracted with their choice of happiness. Like most seasonal shacks, there's no bathroom but GoodBuddy is connected somehow and they let ice cream patrons use the washroom. That's a really nice perk. Also a nice nod to the many dogs that are in the area, there is a dog water dish by the platform. I have yet to hear anyone ask for a pup cup there. Maybe that isn't an option? Downside, you're in full sun (unless you snag as spot on the berm under a few of the trees) or lucky to sit under the a few umbrellas that on the picnic tables but that is it. So on the full summer hot days, you tend to scurry back to the AC of the vehicle vs just sit and enjoy (as that pavement really radiates the heat). For families, it is good to realize this is in a parking lot that is surrounded by other shops and restaurants. Also, just off two busy roads. My last visit there, we spent the half hour saying on repeat, ''don't go that far", "watch for cars", "you have to sit down as it isn't safe", etc. It really boggles my mind that as such a staple in the neighborhood for families to gather, that they don't even have a little barrier set up for the seating area. Even if it was least on the side of the parking lot entrance, that would add as some level of safety. Not everyone drives in reasonably slow or attentive but please keep in mind that kids are distracted with ice cream happiness as are adults too. As a disabled person, I have to mention that neither side of the platform has an accessible ramp to walk or roll up/down. You depend on someone else to order your ice cream if that step up is a barrier for you or hope to heck whatever you're grabbing as you step up is solid enough (as no grab bars either). There's been days where the parking lot itself is so busy that I don't stop there, as I feel it wouldn't be safe walking a further distance to reach the shack as a cane user. However, I save going here when my mobility is on a better day being that it is a significant step up for a cane user. Overall, decent place but room for improvement.
