This is a long overdue review for 805 Construction and Roofing. I just remembered to do it since I just recommended this business to our next door neighbor. The work that Tyler did for us was over 2 years ago. The work went very well. It was a very busy season for roofers at that time but Tyler was able to get me into his busy schedule. His price was reasonable and lower than another estimate from another roofer who has done a lot of work in our neighborhood. His team did the work well and on time. They cleaned up well after each workday. The best part I think is that Tyler is an owner/worker who was with his crew everyday and gets his hand dirty besides making sure that work is done properly. Met Tyler when walking my dogs thru Newbury Park at a jobsite. Was so impressed with the time he took to explain to me the physics of how many of the tile roofs were installed wrong (leading to leaks) that I Googled his reviews as soon as I got home. Then there's the attention to detail -- I'm comforted knowing my house (my investment) is now protected by the quality work performed by the professionals who make up Tyler's team. Work was scheduled to start at 0700 each morning and at 0659, ladders were being raised and the crew was fully engaged. They cleaned up at the end of each day and even scrambled to deal with some very unplanned and unseasonal June rain. Tyler is not going to show up with fancy drones or without any ladders (like some roofing companies do) during your estimate. He's a no-frills, straight-shooting, and most importantly -- honest guy. Just ask him about his thoughts on all the different types of underlayment! You'll see honesty at its core. Again, I'd highly recommend. I am a tough grader normally which makes this even more of a pleasure to write. Like everyone, I worked to get multiple (4) bids for my lift and replace roof project last fall. Tyler came in right at the sweet spot and I felt he was sincerely intereseted in doing a quality job. Tyler and team did not disappoint. We have a tough roof with lots of sections and use heavy concrete tiles. The crew was courteous, professional and unlike other firms, Tyler actually did the work right alongside the team, every day. I even had them address a drooping section that we hadn't discussed and he (and his dad) took care of that at a fraction of the cost had it been a separate project. The best testament to their work? We just had the roughest stretch of wind and rain that I can remember and there were ZERO issues with their work. To top it all off, Tyler is just a good guy and easy to work with. Great professionalism and excellent value! I needed to have my roof replaced before solar installation and I decided to look at Yelp for roofing contractors. I am very glad to have found Tyler and his team for our roofing project. Before signing on with a contractor, we interviewed 5 roofers and Tyler's quote was prompt and came in 25-30% below other quotes we received. We also loved that the quote was transparent and it even included replacing any possible dry rotted wood after shingles were removed. Other quotes we received included separate additional charge for replacing dry rotted wood, which made Tyler's quote even more compelling. Just got our new roof installed. We needed plywood, underlayment and new tiles. Tyler and his team had this project done in 5.5 days and it is absolute picture perfect. I saw his work on my neighbors roof, got the quote and it all worked out from start to finish. This is the second house Tyler has installed a new roof for our family. This time there was a bit more wood to replace due many years of termite damage. Tyler and crew went through every inch of the roof decking to make sure we replaced any damaged wood. Luckily most of the roof decking we were able to keep. Tyler also replaced some of the facia. The installed roof was completed within 3.5 days! This included the tear off of the old roof. His crew cleaned everything up at the end of each day. Many months ago, during a huge storm in February, my roof leaked through an electrical outlet into the garage! Tyler came out first thing the next day and tarped the area where the roof had leaked, and sent me an estimate to do a partial repair, or do the entire roof, which was the original from 1986. It was clearly time to do the whole roof. Tyler's price was very reasonable compared to other estimates I received, and added to his prompt response from the original leak made 805 Construction and Roofing the obvious best choice when I was ready to move forward. I couldn't be happier with the work he and his team did. They arrived promptly at 7 AM, as promised, every day, and worked diligently and efficiently throughout the days.
