I paid another 2000 dollars to what? Waiting for an attorney all day and not having the slightest % better going for my case. Then they absolutely got nothing accomplished regarding my case but asked for another $9,000 if I wanted to go to trial, so I fired them right there during the court hearing because they are LIARS!! Now its 2025... and 3 different attorneys at 805 later, and STILL no closer to being divorced. I paid $25,000 for someone to request and process documents over and over and over. These folks are a TOTAL joke. They provide legal advise that is dead wrong at times, and would have created a serious legal problems for me had I followed them. Bill is NEVER on top of things. They don't return calls or emails quickly. They fees are astronomically sky high and utterly REDIDIOUS. They wanted $8K to separate our assets, something that I could easily do at the courthouse in a few hours. They wanted $6.5K to file a two page pleading that my new Attorney did in 45 minutes. Communication with this group could be better I found out from checking my calendar that Cindy would be attending my court date via zoom. I called the office and confirmed that was what was happening with them. This review is quite a bit overdue -- based on my own person experience with Bill Ausman's office as well as my experience watching him through my position as a Family Court advocate. My high profile child custody case spanned from 2009 - 2014 and received international media attention. During this time, I acted as my own attorney. At a particularly desperate time in my case, I was appealing to various family law attorneys in the area -- hoping that someone would take my case pro bono in exchange for publicity. I emailed Bill on March 19, 2013 to see if he would consider taking my case pro bono. Bill immediately responded and offered a time/date to meet just a few days later. I responded to him accepting his offer but reiterating that I had no money to pay him and that I wanted to be very honest and upfront about that fact. Bill responded and asked me to come into his office anyway knowing my financial situation in advance. Within 30 minutes of me being in his office on March 21, 2013, I immediately felt uncomfortable. Mr. Ausman leaned back in his chair and crossed his arms with a creepy grin (used car salesman-esque) and said..."what type of arrangement do you think we can work out?" I was not sure what he was implying but I felt very uncomfortable in that moment. I reiterated that I did not have financial resources and Bill looked amused by my reaction. I left his office shortly after -- wanting to take a hot shower. In a follow up email, Mr. Ausman stated, "Unfortunately my secretary has recently had to take some time off to care for her family. In addition I am leaving next week for my long planned family vacation. Thus with a brisk business and staff covering for each other I just don't have the proper time to devote to your case at this time." I sent my fiance to retrieve my court documents that day as I did not want to set foot in his office again. In my opinion, Mr. Ausman reviewed my court case prior to me going into his office and he knew the date of my court trial -- he knew that he had a vacation planned and that he was short staffed (although his receptionist was there when I was in his office). I wonder why he wasted my time and his own...and I question what arrangements he was interested in. read more

My initial meeting with Mr. Bill Ausman was productive and left me appreciating the empathy and sympathy that had been lacking in a 5 year complicated Family Law case that had me attached through on going and unnecessary discovery. Mr. Liceaga and Mr. Neus were phenomenal in advocating for me. Although, the cost is on the high end the cost/ benefit is peace of mind knowing that someone is on my side looking out for me. Bill is a LIAR. He told a police office that I had a gun and I was going to be bringing it to his office. I never told him this. I contacted the police officer and he told me this. I have a case number From Atascardero PD. I am going to report this to the proper authorities, as well as to the California bar association. This has me so upset, scared, and sad. Especially with all,the gun violence going on in our country. I don't own a gun, I don't believe in caring a gun. This has me really upset. How an Attorney of Law can LIE to a police officer. Worst law firm we've dealt with. Needed to file a second adoption paper. Attorney Ramey said it probably wouldn't cost more than 1300 most likely 1000. He had just done a divorce for 1300. So he says but now I don't believe it. He did say it was also something we could do by ourselves. For us 1000 was reasonable to file a few papers with the court since we didn't have time. We ended up miscarrying the baby and canceled services. They ended up charging us just shy of 2000 bucks for the little bit they had done. A big difference from the 1000 - 1300. I asked them through their portal why those charges were on there and no reply. I called their office several times and nobody called us back, just sent us the invoice. We paid it and I'm sure they knew we would because it would cost more to fight it. Disappointed with them. Would have gone back again now that we are pregnant again had they not screwed us over. Luckily, we found a better attorney doing it for free of charge! The lack of communication here is horrible. Would never recommend this law firm. Look elsewhere. They lying attorney was Ramey. Mr. Ausman's office deals with divorce, family law, personal injury law and criminal defense. I'm very surprised about some of the negative reviews that I have seen. Like with any lawyer, you need to set guidelines, limits, and have an open dialogue at all times. Accordingly, he handles very complex and emotional cases; people will naturally overreact to any slight. That being said, I had a wonderful experience with Mr. Ausman and his team. Call backs were timely and he listened intently to what were the needs in my specific case. The outcome was positive because we worked collaboratively in this case together. This lawyer is a rip off!! They changed staff several times and did not inform me. I met 2 different attorneys by accident while being in the office and was charged both times. I had a very easy and simple seperation with no assets, no property, no minor kids, etc. I paid $6000 and nothing was done, I was disrespected by staff, constantly charged for nothing. I told them to stop charging me and contacting me while I was sick with covid and they continued. In the end they STOLE my $6000 and never did the seperation!!! I got screwed. I haven't received a penny back from them and Mr Ausman himself won't even talk to me!! I have read reviews now on so many different sites and this has happened to many people! This has got to stop!! Bill did some Family Law work for me. My ex feels very entitled, and is known to be difficult . He was able to negotiate a settlement based on the parameters I gave him. It saved me money and was fair to both parties. He's not a "slash and burn" attorney that wastes your money. He brought my case to fruition, at the price he said he would.
