The last time I was here, this was Richland Lanes, that should tell you how long ago that was. What a glow up, if you will. They really put in some great work here to make it a well-used, family friendly attraction. Yes, I am calling this an attraction as there are a multitude of things to do in here besides bowling. To the basics here, bowling. Bowling is easy to get going here. Walk in, tell them how many in your party, pay for the game, pick up your shoes and make your way to the lane they assigned to you. Electronic scoring, so no need to worry if you do not know how to figure bowling math. The lanes can be reserved either by the amount of games you plan to play or within a timeframe (like you want the lane for 2 hours). Bumper bowling is available with the railing going up and down if assigned to a person in your party. Balls are available if you aren't an avid bowler, and smaller weight balls, specifically for kids, are usually behind the counter. Our game had five people in our party. We paid for one round of bowling. But before we were able to get to the tenth frame, the lane shutdown. A simple trip to the counter to let them know we were done yet and they had us back up in no time. Each lane has a table behind it in the general area that is reserved to the lanes in front of it. So if you were to order food you can enjoy it here and continue your game. (Review for that restaurant on property forthcoming). Once done with the game, replace your ball, return your shoes, and then you can go about your day. However, there are other things to do here in you see it fit to do. Aside from the restaurant mentioned before, there is a separate section that looks like you can reserve for a private party, good for birthdays and what not. On top of that, they have a pretty decent arcade where you can win token for prizes. In the arcade area there is also laser tag. If you have a card for the arcade, you can swipe it for a game of laser tag. You would think that was enough for under one roof, but there is one more feature to this place. Escape rooms. They have two themed escape rooms that you can play. Not sure if they plan on switching them over anytime soon, but if you have played both of them, you've completed that for here. read more

Every lane and all of the games are really well taken care of. The variety of games and activities keep people of all ages busy. And, the restaurant serves a wide variety if food and specialty drinks. The pizza they make is really good. I often call and get a pizza to take home with me. The Hogue family and all if their staff are always there for any questions or assistance. I just realized last week that they have a marketing person that sets up cool "field trips" for groups that include bowling, lazer tag, a game package and a food package and a private events room. This can be arranged for birthday parties and other events. Have it so outdoor weather won't screw up the event. Have it her at 814 Lanes & Games. My rating is for the Cell Block E escape room. Overall, it was fun, but it was poorly set up. Doors containing puzzle items were not locked, so the employee came into the room multiple times and said we got items out of sequence. We found a phone number that we thought we were supposed to type into a phone on the wall. Multiple people tried this multiple times and nothing happened. Eventually, after trying it, walking away, and trying it again 15 times, it did do something. The final puzzle, even if you solve it correctly, does absolutely nothing unless you unlocked another door previously. You can easily walk around this door, so there's no clear reason to unlock it, and the only way to open it is by pressing a button that was identical to a button we were told in the beginning not to press. read more

This is such a fun place! It's great for families, date nights, group outings, etc! Lots of bowling lanes, games, lazer tag etc. Johnstown so needed a place like this! Fun for the whole family at a reasonable rate! read more

So my review about this facility goes many ways. I'm very saddened to have to write the negative but management needs to know what's happening at this facility. First, positive feedback... the facility is ascetically pleasing, clean, lots of Fun of all kinds to be had here! The food is REALLY good. Beer is cold. My husband and I wanted to plan a fun day for friends and family prior to New Years. 15-20 people (8-10 kids)...so planning was essential. We googled this place and then went to visit a few weeks prior to check out the menu, games, lanes, etc. PRO- lots of things to do, good menu, and we tried several things on menu and they were all good. CON- the front desk staff were not helpful AT ALL and were too busy talking amongst themselves to bother answering our questions. Seriously we both looked at each other upon leaving and said, "wow very rude." However, they were young and we said "it's the generation" and shrugged it off. It looked like we could have fun there. Day of our event: PRO- We arrived...since this place takes NO reservations we came early and tried to set up lanes and food prior to our guests coming. Well! My goodness it was like pulling teeth! YES had to deal with rude staff. My husband eventually just said, listen this is what we want and make this happen. It was for 15-20 people including kids. We didn't care the price. Think that was the worst of it well guess again!! Our server was rude and very annoyed at everything we asked of her. All I can say is if you want to talk about how annoyed you are to serve a group...be sure no one in "that party "is listening... (YES she was that sort of server sharing her views with her co-workers) Long story short, it could be a wonderful place, but has the absolute worst service and staff! We won't plan our future excursion's here, not worth the aggravation. Perhaps just visit to eat and play a game or two. read more

Rude Service. Our second time there. Sat down at the same high table at lane 8. We had a child wanting to bowl and we knew Birthday parties are usually in the first couple of lanes. We thought this would be a good way for him to meet other local kids. Well we were told to move because that lane was reserved for another birthday party. They told us to go to lane 18. We moved there and ordered food. The people behind the counter turned on lane 16 instead. Watched lane 8 the entire time our child bowled and while we ate. There was never a birthday party even close to lane 8. In fact, the employees sent two mothers and their kids to lane 8 to bowl! I contacted an employee who I thought might have been a manager and asked why we were told to move. He came up with excuses that they thought more birthday parties were coming. To top it off, there was a birthday party that came in after I spoke to him (while we were still eating) and they put them at lanes 19 and 20 right next to us. Meanwhile lanes 1-4 were open. Because we were still eating at lane 18, the only table this party had was the table for 19 and 20 which was filled with pizza and drinks so they had to eat in the lanes. This is what happens when you hire kids and bad managers! Don't mind spending a $110 on four sandwiches, two appetizers and 5 drinks (the food is good), and almost $20 for a child to bowl 3 games; but not when we are treated like this! read more

Super fun place to go in Johnstown. Bowling was fun $30 per hour and $3 rental for shoes. Restaurant has slushy sand will come take your order at the lane or you can go sit down in the restaurant area. Escape room, laser tag, and a big arcade make this place extra fun with more than one option. read more

2 stars only because the food and service at the buffet was great. We tried to use gift cards purchased from Groupon which apparently were only for the arcade. The manager said there were communication issues and this was a known problem but failed to offer any solution other than a "sorry." Our kids weren't permitted to use bumpers because they were too old (12 and 11). Bowling isn't fun for a kid who gets a gutter ball every time. If I'm paying for it, I should get to use bumpers. The woman at the desk was incredibly rude. We paid for 2 lanes, 2 games and the second lane shut off halfway through with no legitimate explanation. Will not be back! read more

Horrible customer service today brought people from South Carolina who wanted to go to Dave and busters and I said why because we're right here we have a close 2nd in Johnstown. Greasy pizza came out before a basket of plain nacho chips . Actual order of nachos came out later and was ice cold. Server Wasn't very quick bartender was not on top of things. I don't like paying $60 for bowling and $60 for food that I have to beg for and it's not up to standard Sadly excuses well it was busy I've been there in the past when it was busy and the service has never been this bad. read more

There lucky I'm giving 1 star the service sucks it took 45 mins to get an onion ring tower and then we ordered drinks they brought the soda but then it took over 30 mins to get a beer not happy @ all foods over priced for the area! Just my opinion though. read more

me and my friends went and visited this establishment 2 days ago and the manager was an extremely rude man. he got attitude with all of us for no reason, accused my group of underage drinking when the people in our party were old enough to drink and then himself along with others stared at us the remainder of our visit there and we were being pointed at. i wanted to love this place but ended up crucifying it me and my friends included. one of our other friends had a bad and unpleasant experience last night by the same manager. while i am striving to support small business in these uncertain times this is just ridiculous. i hope they get better on their attitudes to paying patrons Thank you. read more

This place is awesome!! Everything is state of the art. The food is some of the best in Johnstown (get the buffalo chicken crunch wrap). Everything these people do is amazing. Way to bring something cool to Johnstown. The managers are great people and I've dealt with them before. We've had three birthday parties at hogues because they are so great at what they do. I don't know what that other person is talking about. These owners are the managers and are some awesome people who always go above and beyond for their guests. read more

We've been here once before. Prior to this visit I would have given them 5 stars. My family and I bowled 1 round. While bowling we attempted to order drinks. We were told a server would be over. We waited 15 mins and after another attempt she finally took our drink and food order. After 30 minutes of waiting for our drinks we were able to recruit other workers to help us. We were told several times that there was only 1 server. At that time she had 2 tables. There were 3 employees at the prize counter and several in the bowling area. Additionally there was a bartender. I retrieved our drinks myself as they were sitting at the bar. The waitress apologized. She must have been new but her co-workers should have helped her long before we complained. Now to the food. The black bean burgers were burnt and missing the sauce that was listed on the menu. The pepperoni on the pizza was burnt. No one knows the anything about the oil that is used for frying. It was a pretty frustrating visit. read more
