The cost was much cheaper than replacing our old deck with a completely new deck. They extended our deck 4' and replaced wood decking and railing with Timber Tech French White Oak. They also replaced the wood rails with stainless steel cable. It looks great! We wanted it done by our daughter's baby shower and they completed it on time. They did a great job from start to finish. We would highly recommend them.

Since I'm not familiar with painting or wall repair, I asked my boyfriend--who has 25 years of construction experience--to speak with him about the scope and cost. My boyfriend, who is currently stationed overseas, was able to negotiate the price down to $1,800. Bill claimed that $600 of that was just for materials. Given that cost, I expected the walls to be properly prepped, primed with drywall primer, and imperfections repaired. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. While I appreciate that his team removed the old shelving, they left the hose mount on the wall and got paint on the door frame. They also failed to leave me the extra paint I had paid for, which I needed to address missed spots and repairs. I reached out to Bill via text three times. He initially said he would bring the extra paint but then stopped responding. I ultimately had to take a piece of damaged wall to Sherwin-Williams to get a color match and fix it myself. To make matters worse, when I expressed my concerns and asked him to speak with my boyfriend directly, he was dismissive and unprofessional. I've since had other painters look at the job, and they agreed I was overcharged for the quality of work delivered. Lesson learned: If you decide to hire this company, make sure you're either knowledgeable about painting or have someone experienced with you to avoid being taken advantage of--especially when it comes to labor and material costs.

Details: I hired Capital Guardian Builders to re-install a kitchen floor due to persistent cracking. They thought that there were issues with the subfloor and stated they would be able to fix them. They did re-install the floor, but similar cracks and holes immediately reappeared. When I asked for help, they stopped answering me over the course of two months. I submitted a BBB complaint, at which point they reversed course and promised to repair the cracks and holes. However, as soon as I accepted this response, they changed their position and stated that I needed to pay over $1k additional for them to repair their holes and cracks. I hired a different contractor to repair these mistakes instead.
