A leather cat shaped coin purse.

They have so much stuff! They have the cutest bags and hats at the best prices! I could have stayed there for hours and spent all my money. The lady at the front was so nice and helpful. Prices are posted very well and you can just ask if you can't find the price. I got this little coin purse

The only thing I would change about this place is to have prices on *all* the items or at least clear signage near the group of items. I feel like such a pain in the arse when I have to constantly ask how much items are - especially now that our daughters are really starting to understand money. "How much is this, Mommy?" "Maybe it's free," the other kid says. *sighs* 88 Far East is on the second level of the building next to Earth 'N Fire, the paint-your-own-pottery shop. There is quite an assortment of gifts affordably priced such as jewelry, men's and women's clothing, toys, knick knacks, wind chimes... And in the back room there are some Asian foods and a variety of teas. The teas seem to be very popular as I saw two different people come in and chat with their shopping compadres about it.

After Gail accidentally mistook my S.O. for a returning artist she had known since he was a child, we learned that 88 Far East International's cordial owner has been in business long enough to see a generation of student artists grow up in Idyllwild. Packed with a broad range of interesting merchandise, Gail's store is a long, two-part log cabin located on the second floor towards the back of "The Fort." As far as gift shops in Idyllwild go, 88 (also known as "Far East Gifts") can't help but stand out well on its own. No other gift shop in town offers as eclectic an exhibition of East meets West themed goods and apparel as 88 does. This is also likely the only place within dozens of miles where one might be able to find such familiar items as Hello Kitty and friends stationery, Po Sum On oil, Po Chai pills, teapot sets, chopsticks, mood rings, toys, collectible figurines, decorative scrolls, art gifts, as well as walls and racks of fashion and accessories, all in one place! If you happen to feel like taking your time while you browse, you will probably end up spending a good half hour like we did at this condensed fusion emporium, picking up reasonably priced souvenirs, chatting with Gail, marveling over some things old, and occasionally discovering something new. Highly recommended!

Decided to check it out as the name interested me "A Piece of Idyllwild." This is a very cute souvenir shop to have some good memories from your time here. I remember seeing soaps, houseware, T-shirts, hoodies, trucker hats, and a machine that can personalize your gifts. I picked up a trucker's cap (which I wear quite frequently as I lost my original one from the Grand Canyon) along with some postcards. The shopkeeper was open past her usual hours, but she told me she stayed open as it was a holiday weekend and she was getting a lot more customers because of it. Got to know her a bit. She originally used to live in San Diego, but moved out here as she wanted to try her hand at managing her own gift shop - which I thought was pretty awesome. Would definitely recommend checking her shop out. It was very cute and seemed decent for pricing.

Shucks no sale here but almost.

I called and spoke with a representative who proceeded to tell me my bank charges an additional 3% fee for using my card. The reality: THEIR bank (merchant processor) charges THEM an additional 3% fee, not the consumer. I have a receipt verifying the lesser charge. When I attempted to work this out, the store employee hung up on me. Terrible customer service. Dishonest management. Shop elsewhere. There are plenty of other gift shops nearby.
