Check your receipts. Verify the amount. Make sure you don't end up with extra charges unbeknownst to you. I have a receipt verifying my charge of $60.31, yet $62.72 cleared my account. I called and spoke with a representative who proceeded to tell me my bank charges an additional 3% fee for using my card. The reality: THEIR bank (merchant processor) charges THEM an additional 3% fee, not the consumer. I have a receipt verifying the lesser charge. When I attempted to work this out, the store employee hung up on me. Terrible customer service. Dishonest management. Shop elsewhere. There are plenty of other gift shops nearby. read more

Gift shop is decent. Issue is with the owner. Owner called the shop and told the employee she was watching the live cameras and she watched my niece shoplift. Niece showed all of her pockets were empty and the owner told the employee, oh my mistake. I'm sorry, what!? If you're going to accuse someone of a crime, you better know what the eff you're looking at!! And if you are sitting at home watching the live feed, get into your shop. Don't make employees do your dirty work when you're the jerk who isn't there to make false claims. The employee was a mortified and so embarrassed. We are retired law enforcement and small business owners ourselves. I get all the aspects but the approach is ALL wrong. Do better. read more

They have shops on the Main Street, from clothing, restaurants, ice cream and candy shops etc. It's so easy to see everything, there are stores in a triangle area of the Main Street. Easy to walk to see them all. read more

We found some cute items in this little shop. It is small but you can find plenty of awesome gems. I got me a cute native necklace that happened to match the earrings I was wearing (destiny or luck?- I say neither. It is simply good taste) The staff was friendly and everyone was wearing a mask. They even have hand sanitizer available. I totally recommend you checking this place out. The prices are also very reasonable. read more

We recently came to Idyllwild to spend a few days, and better enjoy the town. I wasn't sure what to expect here based on the prior negative reviews, though we had a nice time, overall -- enough to come back, two days in a row. It is certainly a small shop but with enough variety that you can find a unique or "touristy" souvenir to cherish. This is what we came for, and we left with several items that seemed to be of great quality and all were very reasonably priced. All of the customers we encountered wore a face covering and seemed to keep to themselves. The woman at the register was helpful and not pushy. We would most likely return here next time we are in town. read more

We have liked this store in the past, but when we visited this weekend (07/19/2020), we found no one was following the state mandated COVID law. Not only were customers not required to wear a mask nor controls on number of people or socially distancing, but the staff were not wearing masks. When questioned, the cashier said the owner said he didn't have to wear a mask. He seemed not to care about the risk to others. read more

Idyllwild is supposed to be a beautiful place filled with nature and having that freedom to explore it. This place in particular rips away that experience, especially if you're not white. It's disappointing to see racism, especially when the store employees follow you around based off of you just being Mexican and having a darker skin tone. Not once did I see them follow any white customers or continuously watch them like they did myself and my mother. I bought a hoodie from them, but I'm disgusted by the behavior of the staff. It's 2020, if you're racist at this point, then check yourself and your privilege. I'm a human being and being fake with someone in a store to see if they'll "steal" something just because they're browsing is disgusting. If you're a person of color, black, Latinx/Hispanic, please make sure you're not traveling alone. read more

Visited this weekend and noticed that the staff were not wearing masks. The shop is pretty small and has little ventilation. I am surprised at their lack of care for public health. This is the only place I've ever been to in the last six months where the business is the one NOT wearing masks. Just horrible. read more

Great shop with a truly wonderful staff. We met a woman today who took great care of us and helped us pick out several unique gifts.

They have nice souvenirs and clothes. Did not like the store personnel hovering over me while looking at items. She only asked me but no one else there that was also shopping. I felt like a suspect and not given any space to shop in peace. She came to me twice if I needed any help. Like she had never seen a latina shopping at a quaint and nice shop. Cute little gift shop downtown. The associate working was very friendly. She even approached to help me find my size in booties since it looked like there were only giant sizes left. They carry a nice selection of souvenirs: shirts/sweaters, magnets, earrings, cashmere scarves, figurines, etc. Everything is priced appropriately for the area, as "the hill" has a bit higher priced commodities, understandibly. read more

The only way I could had have purchased made locally items is if I were from somewhere in China.
