Today was my first visit, but I'm sure to be back. I love the hand painted murals. The selection is similar to Hong Kong Market but there seems to be a few more upmarket options here. There also seem to be more Korean options here which is great since my GF has been on a kick of their cuisine. All in all I love what they've done with the space and can't wait to see what other things pop up in the strip mall.

Lots of herbs and greens

Great spot that seems to have out Hong Konged the Hong Kong Market. They have one of the most amazing selections of fresh greens I've seen at any grocery or farmers markets ANYWHERE so far in my life. The fresh produce selection really puts most other grocery stores and markets in the area to shame. They seem to have a larger selection of pan-Asian food items than even Hong Kong market (Hong Kong has gone more multicultural now offering Hispanic and Middle Eastern options that take up more of their space that had been all Asian before). They also have a little BBQ space in the back with cooked pigs and ducks on display. They were still celebrating Chinese New Year when I visited so they gave me a little lagniappe of some ramen noodles during checkout. Overall you definitely should check this place out and do some shopping here and try something out you've never eaten before.

Thx goodness for 88 Farmers Market! It usually takes me 30 to 35 min drive to the closest Asian market. Now it takes me 6 min drive! The market is fairly new open so not everything are stocked as much as other Asian markets. You can find all the fresh seafood and meat on display to purchase and live fish in the tank. I love that I can just drive out there and grab things at the last minute to cook. The market is well lit and clean. I only gave it 3 stars because some of the vegetables are not fresh and maybe because it's fairly new so there are not enough costumers to purchase it fast enough. Can't wait until more shop pops up all the markets and the market is fully well stock.

The prices are a little higher than those of the Hong Kong market, but not by much.

It's the fact that I called you out on what you were doing and tried to play it off as if you were playing! & mind you my child is three years old!!! Definitely ain't coming back there!

We spent some time looking through the pressed oil section which I was pleased to find that the prices were decent. However, the oil I was searching for wasn't in stock. We walked through each aisle looking at random item...I decided to shop for ingredients to make spicy kimchi. I unfortunately was unable to find one key ingredient (gochugaru) and so I put my kimchi fermentation dreams on hold. I could've asked around instead I was overwhelmed and gave up. I did grab the viral Japanese fruit ice cream (peach & mango) and well...they were good but I guess I was expecting something more intense. It didn't quite live up to the hype or the $5.99/ea price tag. My friend got the biscoff Dubai chocolate. We should've taken our time but instead we ate too much sugar too quickly and the outcome was not positive. Overall, I enjoyed the adventure and I plan to come back here with a recipe and a list of ingredients!

Afromart 3114 Paris Ave…read moreNew Orleans, La 70119 504-397-1017 Hey now Yelpers, I finally got a free moment to check out AfROMART. I was very excited as to what the store has to offer. I was pleasantly surprised. I was greeted by the owner Juliet(as she allowed me to call her). Juliet served me as a customer while attending to her electrician. I started asking questions, she is from Ghana , she is the real thing y'all. The store is only 3 1/2 months open, and there's a-lot of what's to come says Juliet. There's 4 isles of food choices of African and Ghana foods. If you're a cook there's fresh dried herbs, once explained the herbs usage"ah said , "gimme dat as us naw'lins would say. They're different style meats. Such as the kind we put in our gumbos, or stews, on the shelves. There,s soda called GUINESS" that is to die for. I There are lotions that we use for skin care, ( y'all know ) no matter what race or gender. The prices are equal and in some ways better because you get more. Last but not least the clothing. WOW!!! Juliet just before I came in, a man came in and bought 18 shirts. There's mostly me even done a vest/pants and so on. There's beautiful, dashikis for women/men. I'm sure she will request for children's clothes. Christmas gifts for Dad uhhh-yeah " wha choo talkin bout Willis" AfroMart got you covered. Okay fellow Yelpers, the big months are coming in fast, remember this Kenyan family that went through Katrina with us and loved us enough to stay. Ok y'all, HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL , to all my fellow YELPERS, management and staff. Citizens of Nola and Louisiana, especially the brilliant work of all YELPERS. From your fellow Yelper "MO"
