Same principle--same level of disrespect. If this is truly a policy, then apply it consistently. Purses are just as capable of concealing merchandise as backpacks, yet they're not treated the same. That inconsistency makes this feel less like security and more like selective enforcement. Other stores in the area--including Rouse's, Breauxmart, Zuppardo's, Robért's, Dorignac's, and even Walmart--manage theft risk without treating customers this way.
