My husband and I had major water damage at our condo so we were first placed at a local Residence Inn. I was miserable there so they moved us to 888 Hilgard Apartments. It has been such a delightful experience! The beautiful and always helpful front desk young ladies and the maintenance crew are great! The apartment is light, contemporarily furnished and the kitchen is stocked with almost every supply you will need (I still managed to make a jello mold and chocolate cake to bring to my daughter's house for Thanksgiving tonight!) There is a full gym, easy underground parking, full security and a delicious cappuccino machine in the lobby! Yesterday all the tenants received the most yummy cookies from the 888 Hilgard building management! I am moving back to my own condo next weekend and will miss my special time here at 888 Hilgard! We rented a furnished apartment at 888 Hilgard for 5 weeks. It was walking distance to the UCLA Campus and Westwood Village. It's only a 10 minute walk to the UCLA Medical Center and its medical offices. The 1BR unit was well furnished and had all the necessities for a comfortable stay including a full kitchen, all linens, high speed internet/smart TVs, lots of closet space and secured garage parking. The building is secure with codes for lobby and apartment access. There is a community use full gym and rooftop patio. The staff was attentive and helpful whenever we needed anything. Ask for Melvin....he'll be happy to take care of you. We would definitely rent here again if there was ever another need. read more

Beware. The building is infested with termites, and there is untreated mold from the many water leaks in the building. Furthermore, and even more alarming, is the evidence of ASBESTOS in the AC ducts that the inspector recommended further testing on & the landlord refuses. Because the landlord refuses to make repairs to fix these issues, many tenants have had adverse health reactions because of it. If you are seeking safe, clean, and decent accommodation, I recommend looking elsewhere. The landlord is a bully and will go to great lengths to manipulate and harass the tenants. It is a very unfortunate situation. While the leasing agents are great at selling you the unit, once you sign a contract, it's a completely different story. This temporary apartment could not have been more perfect for my family's 1-2 month stay in the area. Originally from the central coast, my family temporarily relocated while my sister was undergoing treatment at UCLA hospital. It felt like home, the way a hotel would have not. Right opposite UCLA campus ... super chic building in the heart of Westwood ( sandwiched between posh Bel air, Beverly hills and Brentwood) so easy to travel from here .. theres even a bus stop right at the door step and a few blocks down a shuttle bus to Lax if needed.. Ralphs Trader joes cvs whole foods are all maximum 5 mins walking distance! Fabulous modern interiors... they have both furnished and unfurnished apartments.( the closets are hugeee!!) This building has large brand new Gym .. with a personal trainer... ( so you save on gym membership fees ) Building is super quiet ... Having lived here for over a year .... I can confidently say that there has NEVER been a problem that the staff has not promptly attended to or corrected. When I moved in Abel (maintenance head) helped me even with my furniture!! Laura from housekeeping ... she is extremely trust worthy and cleans the apartment spotless!! Magnolia is always kind and handles the package service, dry cleaning like a pro!... and the best is the building manager .. Danielle...she greats me every morning with her bright smile... she is EXTREMELY helpful!! To top all that off .. the buildings owner Adrian is so humble and warm!! AVOID THIS PLACE BY ANY MEANS! Unfortunately, I stayed them with a few month because I signed a longterm lease with them. I was tricked by their fancy lobby and seemingly fancy apartment. But actually my unit ends up having congestion in the bathroom. I requested a maintenance but they DON'T fix anything. Even worse, this building was built in the 70s and renovated a couple of years before. So this place has absolutely NO sound insulation at all! You are gonna hear everything from your neighbors. The building is next to many residential houses, which means their pools are right next to your bedroom. Although they have a whole piece of green plastic tapestry dividing the building and the residential houses, you are hear everything. If they threw a party at night, you will be automatically invited. Because they design your bedroom right next to your neighbors' living rooms, you will be waken up every time your neighbors using their blender. If your upstairs neighbors walk, you will feel like there is a dinosaur living upstairs. I even heard my neighbor flashing their toilets. Road maintenance fixing the sewage, you will go crazy. But they do help you by casually take thousands from your account. They request a deposit the same amount as your monthly rent. Their two bedroom apartments are now about $8000 each month, which means you will also pay $8000 for the deposit! As you may notice, this place has a lot of negative reviews. I read them before I moved in but did not take them seriously. Now, you are warned by me again. You know what to do. read more

We rented a one-bedroom apartment at 888 Hilgard for a week and enjoyed our time there. Our apartment was tastefully furnished, clean, and nicely equipped with nearly everything we needed during our stay. The staff was incredibly helpful, friendly, and responsive including the building maintenance crew. Overall, we were very pleased with everything during our stay. However, there were a few minor problems: 1) The apartment doors seem to slam without provocation and our stay was punctuated with door slams around the clock. 2) The wireless networks in the building not secure and most all share the same password. Thus, it would be trivial for a hacker to harvest client's personal passwords. I accessed our apartment's router and determined that someone was on our network. I blocked this person and brought this to the management's attention. They let me know they were already looking into an Enterprise solution to alleviate these kinds of problems. Again, these are small problems and overall we really liked 888 Hilgard and will stay here the next time we visit Los Angeles. read more

We wanted flexibility and something to make him feel like he was back in New York City (well at least close enough). Believe me, I've seen all the options, within this price range, throughout LA. It's modern, clean, gets good light... smells good (odd, I know, but that's important to me) and is so convenient to all the essential necessities including some of the best doctors in the world. From the very beginning of the process up until move-in day, which was last week...it's been an such an easy and smooth journey. Shout out to Doug who greets you with a smile and positive energy. Our 2 bedroom furnished unit was exceptionally clean on our move in date which was important as my sister and I were caregivers to my husband after his lung transplant since he is immunocompromised. The location was perfect because we could walk to UCLA for hospital visits and numerous appointments and shop for food and necessities at Ralph's, Trader Joe's and Target. The well equipped gym was an added bonus as was the barbecue roof area. The addition of fresh fruit and muffins a few days a week in the lobby was a nice treat along with a coffee machine to use anytime. 888 Hilgard was a wonderful place to stay and recuperate so we did not have to spend hours in traffic to travel to and from our home in Claremont to UCLA. read more

I moved in here late last year. The place was a mess and was still under construction. The leasing agent told me that construction would be done in a month or 2 and that they would give me a slight discount on the rent during construction. I said OK. Wow big mistake, construction wasn't done until 10 months of me living there. Constant problems and noise. Management was very poor. Upon me moving out, I spent half a day cleaning the apartment out making sure that I would get my security deposit back. To my surprise they deducted $300 for a cleaning fee when everything was clean? The place does look nice now that construction is finished but be careful with the management. read more

I've been to Hilgard a couple times for short term stays, and I have to say, I'm satisfied each time I'm there! Everybody always says this, but the location really is amazing. In the center of Westwood, you're situated right next to UCLA and the Medical Center. And there's a Target and Trader Joe's not too far so it's super convenient. The neighborhood is quiet and safe, with building security and a gated, covered garage. The room themselves are gorgeous. I love that there's so much light, and the contemporary furniture makes the space even more airy and comfortable. Every unit is furnished so you literally have everything you need the moment you move in. To top it off, the staff is amazing and you know they really care about you. This is a fantastic apartment. I have been living here since last year and really enjoying my life here. I am a student at UCLA Anderson. The reason why I choose here is that the management team is kind and helpful, facilities are quite new (there are even a coffee machine in the lounge) and its location. It's only 15 minutes walk to The Anderson building. The other point that I am so satisfied is that it is very quiet at night, especially in the bedroom. I am sensitive to noise, and I have a bunch of ear plugs according to my previous experience before I came here but have never used them since moving in. Danielle and Magnolia are the most organized and caring hosts I have ever encountered in all my travels and we have lived and traveled all over the world. I have never stayed in a place where every detail was so thoughtfully considered for the long-term guest. I'm in a furnished unit with lots of natural light and lovely gracefully chosen furnishings. Every kitchen item I could need is here. There are even two friendly little cookbooks. The bathroom has two sinks, one outside the shower area so two people can do their morning routine at the same time without bumping into each other. Under the sinks are drawers with a hair dryer and decorative baskets for organizing toiletries. There are plenty of fluffy white towels and a coin laundry just down the hall. The closets are beautiful and there are lots of them. There are plenty of hangers and even little organizational cube thingies in the dresser drawer. There is an enormous TV in the living room and a slightly less enormous TV in the bedroom. The bedding is heavenly and there are plenty of fluffy white pillows and various weights of cotton blankets so you can get the perfect sleeping set up. I am impressed with 888 Hilgard and I have stayed in hotels and furnished apartments all over the world. Dear 888 Hilgard, I love you. :) read more

Everything about the hotel was exceptional. It was clean, stylish and roomy with excellent service. Danielle was the most friendliest and helpful receptionist ever. She is so lovely and professional and also the staffs that works here always put a smile on my face whenever I see them especially the new receptionist Lena. Private parking is located onsite and parking was never an issue. Shopping malls and restaurants are within walking distance. The UCLA Campus is directly across the street and public transportation is easily accessible. In the lobby an expresso machine can be utilized 24 hours a day that provides your choice of coffee; hot cocoa; and lattes for free. I love hot cocoa in the evenings. The suite itself was well equipped and comfortable. I was very pleased with my stay, which was approximately eight weeks. This hotel definitely deserves five stars. I moved out of this building in Mid-August. It's October 1 and I have YET to receive a refund of my deposit or a statement of my account. I have made at least six requests in writing for this. Trust me folks, this place is not managed well. For a 3 month lease, I paid $5,100 a month, $2,000 extra because "I did not give a 30 day notice on my 3 month lease" plus a $2,000 security deposit, totaling roughly $20,000 for a one bedroom apartment--that has no laundry in unit or building security. I caused zero damage, and other than needing a general housekeeping, I left the place in excellent condition. The manager "comment" is bogus. She does not reply. read more

I stayed at 888 Hilgard for 4 months.The apartment was fully furnished and decorated elegantly. All appliances, furniture, electronics were brand new and top of the line. The apartment it felt like home without having to buy anything. The location was perfect; a bit secluded in Westwood yet close to Wilshire. Katia and Josh were friendly and accommodating. Josh lives on site and was always available. Because of how flexible and easy it was to get in and out of my lease I would happily stay here again. Highly recommended for short term stay. read more

I have lived in Midvale 2 for the last year and it has been a great experience. The management is very friendly, easily accessible, and willing to help sort out issues that residents have. The maintenance crew is also great and all maintenance requests I have filed have been completed in a timely, very professional fashion. The facilities are great, and the study lounge is definitely a great amenity for students. It is definitely mostly college students that live in the building, but it doesn't ever get too noisy, the only noise issues I have had are from the neighboring buildings. It's also not too far from campus and right in the center of Westwood. Overall my experience living in Midvale 2 has been great and I definitely recommend it! read more
