Solid concert venue in a convenient location in DC. Parking is available on surrounding streets if you arrive early enough. You can also pay for a parking pass through their website but the lot only opens up an hour beforehand so be sure to plan your evening with that in mind. We ended up parking on the street for only $3 since we arrived early to grab dinner nearby. The entry line was super long and literally went around the block but it moved surprisingly fast. Staff was friendly and helpful at the door. The inside was dark when we arrived and it would've been nice to have some house lights so people could find their way around the venue a little easier. The AC was cranking and the temp was comfortable. Upstairs has standing room and some bleachers which provides a good view with less of a crowd. Their VIP area looks nice and I'd be interested in splurging next time for a seat and a better view. There's bars downstairs and upstairs and even some food concessions. Getting out of the venue from the balcony was a bit stressful with only one way out. It makes you imagine what would happen if you needed to get out in a rush... other than that, it's a good space. read more

I've seen so many shows at the 930 club over the years and it's such a great venue. It's small enough to feel intimate but still holds a surprising amount of people. The only problem is parking can be hard to find. There is a lot across the street, but it opens up an hour before the show. Honestly, it's usually just easiest to take Metro in and walk over. There are plenty of great restaurants nearby so it's easy to grab a bite before the show. The drinks are solid. It's mostly standing room but you can get a seat for accessibility reasons or if you pay for VIP. read more

Was here this past weekend and watched JVB and Joshua Raw. The venue was great and staff here very friendly. I got my husband a tea and his brother and espresso shot and spent less than $5. First time coming to this club in DC, what a fun night! Was an "early" dance party, 6-10pm, the event was sold out! So much fun! If you're the type to like more intimate & smaller concerts, this is the venue for you! The max capacity is just a little over 600, and you'll never feel like a sardine. It's easy to find a spot that gives you direct line of vision to the stage (hint - pretty much everywhere). Came in on a Tuesday night to see BAYNK - a very chill, relaxed, and groovy kind of night. Doors opened at 7pm, his opener played around 8pm, and BAYNK played around 9:24pm (would've been so meta if he played at 9:30pm at 9:30 club - is that a thing artists do?) Security was kind - in the past I had to throw away hand sanitizer and got yelled at for trying to finish my unopened candies, but here security talked to me like a normal person and didn't make me throw away anything. Concert ended around 10:40pm and easily was back at home before midnight - not bad for a weekday show. What's cool is that the venue does free water. They also use reusable cups which I appreciate. I didn't order any food or drinks as I had assumed there would've been an upcharge, but they had a good variety of alcohol based on their menu. I tried looking via QR code, but to even view the menu required a credit card. No thanks! 9:30 Club is one of my favorite venues in the area. It's a smallish venue. I usually get a spot on the balcony to get a great view of everything since I'm too short to be in the crowd. Sound system is great. Bathrooms are clean. The merch line can take a while. Ground floor sells beer and food. The second floor sells coffee and cupcakes. Free street parking after 6pm. There are a lot of restaurants in the area. Across the street is Andy's pizza, which sells pizza by the slice for a reasonable price. I was here recently to watch "They Might be Giants" concert. My husband is a huge fan. Well, it was my first time at the 9:30 club. I was surprised by the amount of people this place can fit. There was a long line 10 minutes before the show. If you have access to the metro, I highly recommend it as parking can be hard to find here. We live 10 minutes from this place. Wasn't an issue for us. Stage is nice and sound quality is good an indoor concert hall. They do have some food options such as tacos, pizza and chips & salsa. It was alight. 9:30 is a smaller ventue with a capacity of about 300 that spotlight artists that are gaining in popularity. We saw Jesse Welles on night 1 of 2 sold out shows. Yungboud is appearing in a few weeks. It is mostly standing room only but the stage is raised so the artist can be seen by most. There is a second floor loft that is also standing. There are a few seats near the bars but very limited edition. The sound and lighting is very good. They do have their own parking lot but it is 3-4 blocks away. There are closer lots. read more

I am here right now while I'm writing this review. I am at early birds tonight. The DJ is excellent. But the bartender, when I told her I was only waiting and leaning on the bar to take off one shoe because my feet hurt, told me she was only waiting for us to leave. It must be very difficult for her to have a bunch of 45-year-old ladies who arrive at six and leave at 9.. her bar side manner was terrible. This club is two tiny blocks away from Howard University, and in a Poppin part of town, which made me wish I had extra time to hang out maybe seek food out in this neighborhood, but I got to the venue just in time for my show. A great venue in my opinion is when there are many levels and layers of where to get your drinks, and hang out and chill and different spaces to watch the show which this place perfectly ticked. My favorite was when I was looking for a specific drink I was told I could find it in the basement and the basement bar was very quiet and cool place to be able to have a conversation. Then later, I went up in the balcony area and kind of found the perfect spot in the center up against the wall. I could feel the base booming and watch the concert straight on. People were dancing everywhere, and that was convenient as well for it's spaciousness here and there. The staff on hand is super nice and helpful and they are everywhere with flashlight ready to usher you out, if you needed. I came for a 930 show and apparently there's shows that happen in the first half of the night. A dual purpose club. Very cool venue not too big and drinks were great! And there was a large space for merch for sale by the artist. read more

The 9:30 club was a groovy place in Washington D.C. that has all the specifications you want when you see rock shows; black walls, dark ambiance with purple and blue spotlighting, accessible bar close to the stage, spacious enough to find a good view of the stage to watch the show, a mezzanine to watch above the GA area (depending on availability), and accessible bathrooms in the back. We checked out Lauren Mayberry of Chvrches for a solo set with her backup band, which was great. The sound was spot on. The bar staff were exemplary with turning around the drink orders for everyone. And found everything to be very enjoyable. They didn't have food at the venue that we saw, but we had already eaten down the street, so that wasn't an issue. We didn't have to worry about parking since we were walking and taking the Metro everywhere, and it was easy to access the 9:30 Club as such without needing a car. The security staff were friendly and fair and made sure the queue moved forward steadily, especially with security and ticket checks. read more

Wow what a fun venue. It's intimate, standing room only. There is a main floor and top floor. You can see the stage from all angles. I recently came to see white ford bronco the 90s cover band and had such a great time. Their alcohol is slightly over priced at $10 for a seltzer and $10.50 for Tito's and sprite. Over all I would come early for the dj and stay late for the show. I will definitely be back to this venue for more music in my future! read more

One of the coolest venues I've ever been to. A 10/10 spot with a bunch of bars, space, and even a good little coffee shop in the upstairs mezzanine. They have the perfect space if you want to be with the crowd on the first floor amongst everyone. If you're more of a "from-afar" kind of person the upstairs area is a great option. But 4 friends and I had tickets to attend their 2010s dance party last weekend, and were extremely disappointed when I was denied access. Especially after paying $20 for parking. I was accused of my valid government ID being fake and after multiple staff members checked it they still were persistent that it was fake. It, of course, is not. I turned in 21 September 2025. They first were trying to say I wasn't 21 yet, then changed it to my ID being fake. Even though I am the oldest person in the group I was in and they got in no problem. I was asking for a manager or whoever is in charge to please help mediate the situation because the female staff member that pulled me out of line in the first place was extremely rude and escalated the situation. In the end, that same staff member grabbed my wrists and attempted to draw X's on my hand before I pulled away. She then rudely stood in front of us and asking us to leave at the same time with her in our way. The whole situation was extremely immature and embarrassing. My friends did not go in without me, meaning we all wasted our money that night thanks to staff members failing to do their job that night. Such a shame, we were so excited too :/ read more

It took two months of back and forth with the human@930 club email, but I finally got a response. It was disappointing in that they just reiterated their policy to me. I suggested that when attendees who don't have acceptable, IDs are given under age stamps even though they are clearly over 40, they at least be given a single warning before they're tossed out on the street. I also suggested they review their policy about not allowing people to get their coats and other items until the following day by calling the box office. There was no concession on either of these points. Very disappointing and unreasonable. read more

I love attending shows at 9:30 because of its size--all performances feel intimate, and there is no bad view of the stage. We like to camp out on the top floor, where we can sit or lean against the railing for the duration of the show. As doors opened at 8:00 PM, we arrived at about 8:30 PM. Unfortunately, we then found out that a DJ would come on shortly and then the band would take the stage at 10:15 PM. The coat-check system at 9:30 is not my favorite. With a line winding the length of the upper level, it took about 20 minutes to hand over our jackets. While we would have preferred to keep them on hand, staff asked that we wear them, hold them, or check them; it was frustrating to see people leaving coats on the drink rail or balcony railing, later in the night, after we waited and paid to check ours (I guess that's the price of arriving early). Drinks at 9:30 are expensive and do not taste the best, but there is hardly ever a line at the bar, and one can use the Rooam app to keep a check open for the duration of the show. Service from the bartenders was also top notch. I had two Madras cocktails, which tasted like straight vodka but lasted me the duration of the performance. Overall, we had a lovely time seeing So Fetch at 9:30, as the band was excellent. I'll be back--without a coat--to see another concert there soon. read more

Came here for a private event and got to see the new Atlantis and 9:30 club setup. The rooftop is a nice addition filled with local favorites and memories. The Disco Dan tags, the parking meters that never worked, the gogo shows, etc, definitely a nostalgic feel for people who grew up here. read more

Couldn't hear words, didn't even know there was a keyboard player (saw him, but heard nothing). Not only were the staff super helpful, they were also amazingly friendly. We went to see Silversun Pickups, and the crowd was the most respectful I've ever been in. I love the historical value of the venue and found the record/CD room to be fascinatingly beautiful. I didn't have any food there, but the bar was stocked and had tasty mixed drinks. So this was my first of 2 things !! My First concert of 2024!! Since both my Retina Detatchment Surgeries!! Jan/April 1st.. I'm still in Recovery and can't go everywhere but my friend paid for an extra ticket! And I couldn't have been more glad I went!.. 2 this is my first time being at a Night Club/Concert Venue of this kind!! I truly enjoyed my experience mostly because since I still can't see too clearly all hands were on deck!! start to finish!! Mrs/Ms. Rachel was awesome she helped my friend with me up and down the steps and accommodated Us with Stools on the higher level was like sitting in lunch Box seats!! You can see EVERYTHING!!! the cherry cokes from this bar was amazing!! not too much grenadine!! & the performance lights were dope and the ones they had around that was lower I thought maybe for sensory and autism attendees idk ‍ but it's a dope look!! I'd definitely return here now that I know the set up!! & the wonderful ppl who made sure even upon leaving were right there to help my friend guide me safely down stairs!! And that I got out safely. So to everyone involved from the phone call to make the stool accommodations to the ppl that helped to make me have a wonderful experience and it's still ppl that would stop and assist in stead of standing around!! That experience meant so much!! Because through my surgeries I've had to watch ppl stand around and not have a thing to do when they could've helped even when they saw a slight struggle so thank you all!! Ugh, while this music venue is a classic and divey as hell, the space is just not it. Super cramped, acoustics are TERRIBLE, bathroom stalls are not configured well for people to enter/exit while also queuing, bar areas are so close to the venue floor... Much prefer the Fillmore, Anthem, etc. read more

Was a great concert and had fun. However I would have preferred them to have seats for everyone not just the people in upper bar. Standing for hours was not fun. They were late to get vip people in doors so we were standing outside in cold. Food wasn't the greatest. Needs work. They had no regular iced tea just this weird healthy one and it tasted awful! Come on guys everyone has iced tea even if it's just in tap. Over all I had fun just cause the concert was amazing. The place itself needs work. One good thing the did make sure I had a spot for me and other handicap people to be, I had my cane seat but really there should have been chairs. However my only complaint about that situation is they had no sign saying that area was for handicap and people who weren't kept coming in the section and blocking me both the show and the exit/entrance. They really need a sign and staff needs to kick people out of that area who aren't needing it. Was super hard to get out when I needed to use bathroom, drink, eat or leave. Saw Majid Jordon here in December. I love this venue because they don't only serve alcohol. Upstairs they serve coffee and tea!! The event I was at was standing room only so I did opt for upstairs by the banister. I would recommend you arrive EARLY to get a good space but other than that, the bathrooms were clean and the tea/coffee selection was good. Staff seemed efficient and friendly! read more

BLUF: more intimate setting than most to see a concert. Most of Staff very friendly. Good food I've heard from several people that this was a neat venue. Finally had a chance to check it out. I do like the nice intimate setting, and by and large most of the staff was very friendly. The bartender at the second floor bar was pretty much a jerk, but giving the benefit of the doubt maybe he was just having a bad day. The food is actually pretty good although it is pretty much simple bar food. If you prepay for parking with them be aware that their parking lot is actually several blocks away from the venue. It's not right close by like you might expect. If you're leaving an event late at night this may be a factor for you. read more

How exciting lol The 930 Club has always been an easy venue to catch artists up close and personal - if you're into standing most of the time - and enjoy the close company of others that enjoy the same music. Didn't try the food or drinks but everything else was pretty orderly and they didn't have us outside waiting in the chilly weather for too long. This club is great to see emerging and bigger name artists. It's a relaxed venue that you can see concerts in and party during the week and weekend. Drinks and food are available inside that is a bit pricey for a drink, but also what you expect at a concert hall. I liked their small museum corner they have in the back of the venue showcasing every show hosted at their club since 1980, something worth checking out if you're early to the show. This is by far our favorite venue in DC. The small setting gives it an intimate feel. You can really get up close to the artists. The vibes always tend to be good here. They frequently bring in awesome big-name artists. We recently saw Purity Ring here for the third time and had a blast. The bar serves all the normal stuff at an expectedly marked up price. The 9:30 Club is a great place to see a great band in an intimate space. My girlfriend just so happened to buy an extra ticket to see Yuna a while back and invited me to join her. The sound system is perfect in this venue. We arrived early to get a good spot and decided to go upstairs for a better view. We grabbed a couple of beers at the bar before settling on a sweet space and dared anyone to stand in front of us (lol). The show was great. It was Yuna's tour of her second album after she took some time off to get married and relish in the stardom of her first hit single, "Crush" with Usher. Her voice is pure and I just love her authenticity. In the middle of her set, 9:30 Club workers brought in a bunch of black towels and started spreading on the concrete floor beside and in front us. It was dark so I couldn't really tell what was going on but imagined the rain outside must of come in like a flood. Minutes later I remembered we were on the second floor. Then I saw the bathroom door open in the distance and folks scattering to get out the way. The damn toilet flooded. I was completely grossed out! I'd give this place 5 stars but since they had the black towels on deck, that seemed to mean they were used to it. Hopefully that has been fixed because who wants that kind of distraction during a live concert? read more
