Peru vs. New Zealand WC qualification, Wednesday November 15, 2017
    Jose G.

I don't get all the bad reviews. This place is just your average bar and nightclub with several floors, large screens, and a stage. The bartenders we talked to did accept credit cards. We came to see a soccer match between Peru and New Zealand. About 70 other young and vibrant spectators showed up. Our reserved table was well decorated, the promoters were super friendly, the food was good, and all in all we had a really fun time. We definitely plan on coming back for future events. There were only a few minor hiccups when setting up the audio. The MC did yell into the mic all the time which was kind of annoying. A Pisco Sour and a soda cost $15. A bit pricey if you ask me.

They charged me $6 for a club soda. SIX DOLLARS. Don't even consider going. They rip you off. Avoid at all costs.

We hadn't been to this Irish Pub in years and I'm not sure why, because the food is terrific and…read morethe service is great. It has a comfortable, slightly dim-lit, bar vibe, with multiple tv screens. Neither of us wanted "traditional" Irish fare - hubs ordered a cheeseburger with fries. He really enjoyed the burger and I can confirm that the fries were delicious. I ordered quesadillas - couldn't resist just seeing how they did them. They were quite flavorful and the house-made salsa was just spicy enough. Great place for casual date night or just catching up with friends.

My friends had spoken about this place for a bit so we decided to check it out on Country Line…read moredancing night this past Thursday May 29. The place is huge. There is lots of seating in the outside patio as well. They do a lot of themed events almost every night = burger night, trivia..! There are free line dancing lessons offered by a cool instructor. The dance floor is a pretty good size and fills up. The service was poor- I had to hunt down our server Cory three different times. He kept forgetting the lemons for our salmon dish and waters despite his saying lemons coming right up. We asked his assistant who brought out the entrees and salads for the same - he came back after 6 minutes with a tiny slice of lemon for 4 people, then ran away! The food was average. I ordered a bowl of the Potato Leek soup for $8 and was looking forward to it. Out came a bowl maybe a 1/3 full ( literally five soup spoonfuls). I asked Cory if that was a mistake or a kid's portion and his hilarious response was classic, " Oh we are precise. We measure the soup with a serving ladle and only put this much so it won't splash or spill." The salmon add on (for $10)on the house salad was so so. I was on the floor cracking up. $32 plus tip average per person and I was still hungry. I will not be back for the food. Definitely for the dancing in my new Stetson El Presidente Premium 100X Hat. It looked like fun.

The drinks were affordable and strong, which was a definite plus. However, my main issue with The Lodge is the seating situation near the stage. If you're sitting in front, be prepared for people to stand directly in front of you during the drag show. I would've preferred if the drag queens, owner, or even security had stepped in to ask them to move. It was frustrating to have 6-foot-tall, 300-pound women completely block our view--especially after paying $18 per ticket. Also, watch out for this one wild white lady in a black shirt and floral shorts who acts invisible and blocks multiple people. If you ask her politely to move, she'll argue with you and even try to escalate things by telling you to "step outside" like she's about that life. Overall, for our first drag show, we had fun--but if you're going to enjoy the performance, be ready to be annoyed because no one there is enforcing basic courtesy or crowd control. Yes this is coming from the gorgeous black queen with the pink/purple hair

Looking for great house music, cheap drinks, and a small town vibe that still has a piece of metropolitan life? Go to the Lodge. The drag queens are fab and super sweet and all about the jello shots lol. My wife and I went and had a great time though it was sleepier than we remembered it. Fair warning it is located in an area that's very dark at night so be on high alert. If coming from Hagerstown it will be on your left, if Frederick your right.
