I am writing this review as a lesson learned...I hope it helps someone…read more H & M Plumbing highlights include - Questionable invoices - Lack of transparency in pricing/scope of work - Complete disregard for the customer's concerns I hired H & M Plumbing to move a heating pipe as part of a larger bathroom renovation. A plumber showed up same day and I was happy. He also had a junior plumber with him, conveniently and immediately costing me twice the man hours...They got right to work without much discussion on pricing/scope of work. After hearing the plumber literally beating the hell out of my heating pipes during the job...2 hours later, and about 10 trips back and forth to their unmarked truck the job is complete. I'm told this job will cost me $1,062...I was completely blindsided by this price-point for a 2 hour job...but I pay up and am happy that the bathroom remodel project is moving forward again. THE NEXT MORNING I enter our secondary bathroom which is just below the pipe H & M had worked on the day before. There is water damage on the wall/ceiling and 2 sqft bubble full of water ready to pop! There was apparently a slow drip all night from the pipe they worked on....I immediately called them back to explain the issue. THE PROBLEM The plumber returns and fixes the leak at no charge, of course. However, after multiple conversations H & M Plumbing would not accept any fault or responsibility for the water damage in my home from the pipe they worked on... After paying a ridiculous amount for the job they day before, I was now left with new problems...Completely poor business practice to offer no help on damage clearly caused by their work. We may have disagreed on who was at fault with the water damage, but the least they could do is be human and work with a paying customer on a compromise. Offering to split the cost for the water damage would have been a good start. I doubt Bill will return my call at this point... Overall experience had me feeling gouged on the pricing, cornered into a high bill, and left with more problems than I started with.

I called Long Family Electric to get a quote on a transfer switch installed. They came out and…read morewithin a few days I had a quote for my review. I ended up selecting them to put in the transfet switch. They did a great job and answered some questions for me as they went about installing it. When they were completed with the install, they walked me through transfering my power to generator power and ensured I was comfortable doing it on my own. Will hire Long Family Electric for any future jobs!

My recent experience: I scheduled an appointment for the 11th for my flooding utility room. Tenants can not use their washing machine until this is fixed. They said they'd contact me 30 minutes prior to arriving and they could show any time between 8am-5pm. I really needed this done, so had taken the day off of work. At 4ish-pm I called them and said the job takes at least an hour to do and "I still haven't gotten a call from anyone... is anyone coming?" They tell me there was a "family emergency" and they'd have to cancel. Although frustrated, I could see that being out of their hands, and understood. However, I had to call them to find out they weren't coming, and reschedule myself. The soonest they had was a week out! I need it done, so I agreed to the date. We rescheduled for today the 17th. Again, they'd call 30 minutes in advance, blah blah blah. Not only, has no one called to say they are or aren't coming but I have called them twice to make sure I was still on the list for the day and ensure I wouldn't be missed or rescheduled again. Both times, I was told their dispatch would call me back, and I've not received a single call. Like last time, I took the day off of work to meet them here. It is already an expensive service to have done, but I'm also having to take time off of work to be here, costing me even more money. I'm not sure why it's been so painfully difficult to work with AK Sewer and Drain this time around. I did learn they're managed by a comapny based out of Illinois now. Im not sure if that was the case a few years ago, but the drastic difference in customer service is astonishing. I will not be using this company any more, I am so beyond frustrated. A friend recommended I call One Stop Services in town. The owner's daughter answered the phone on the third ring! Due to the plumbing problem I'm having she had me speak with her father (the owner) to ensure the correct service was scheduled. He was very kind, funny and personable, and they got me scheduled for tomorrow morning! It was SO EASY AND SIMPLE, just as it should be. Awaiting tomorrow's service outcomes with One Stop Services, I might be taking my future business there moving forward.
