Honestly the first was good and I expected to pay ~$24K for a new roof. But then I called Altitude to get another estimate. Wow, what a shock. I asked for an estimate for either roof repair or replacement. The gentleman, Kyle, showed up on time and wanted to see inside the attic first. After examining the attic he said it did not look like I had any serious leaks and roof maintenance was all I really needed. After going outside and examining my roof (this is where I expected the proposal to come from) he said the roof looked in good shape and only needed some minor work on a few excursions. He said tile roofs last ~40years with good maintenance - I am still waiting for estimate - he said he could repair some minor places where time had reduced the seals, AND HE WOULD GLADLY DO THAT AT NO COST WHILE HE WAS THERE. Wow! I said "sure" can't argue with the cost. He went back on roof, applied some sealant. He then said for me to inspect the attic during any rain storms and give him a call if I was concerned. I wish I could give more stars. He may not have saved me the $24K eventually but he definitely delayed it. I added Altitude to my phone contacts because that's who I will call in the future.

I've had quite a few roofers knock on my door over the last several storm seasons and I had been…read morewaiting for some storm to make a new roof covered by my insurance.  Albert simplified the nuances of how the claim system works, answered all of my questions, and made me feel comfortable by walking me through all the processes. Not only did the insurance company reimburse my entire roof less the deductible, but Albert upgraded it into a more modern long-lasting shingle at no additional cost to me.   Albert also coordinated with solar panels removal, cleaning and replacement. And coordinated with Solatube (which I love) installing 3, and his roofer installing 1 Velux sun tunnel skylight (which I definitely don't love because it probably gives 20% of the Solatube light.) I'm listing my home soon, grateful to have the value of a new roof and skylights making all the difference.  He's even going to drive my 26 foot U-Haul for me on the day that I have to move and that says a lot about his dedication to his customers.  I would only recommend using Arizona Sky Roofing every time....  When you call ask for Albert Bronson.  Or just call him at 602-809-7277.

Jacob was responsive, showed up on time for the initial appointment. After a quick evaluation, he suggested other items that hadn't occurred to me such as adding the ridge vents to improve attic ventilation and cutting back the siding where it was touching the shingles, something that should have been done when the house was built! Jacob quickly got back to us with what turned out to be the best quote. I greatly appreciated that Jacob happily dropped off the new fascia boards the day before the job started so I could prime and paint them before installation. This saved me a lot of high ladder work to paint them after the fact! Jacob and his crew showed up on time the day the job started and immediately got to work. The crew was courteous, efficient, and very professional. They are clearly a well-oiled team and we were amazed that they were able to finish the entire job in only two days, even with a rain delay! We did a full re-shingle plus all new sheathing, replacement of some rafters, some roof venting, and full gutter installation. A big job! When Jacob came to provide us an estimate, we were pleased with his competency and with the materials they planned to use. Their quote/rate was competitive and they were able to start right away. Unfortunately, we started the job right before the start of one of Flagstaff's wettest winters ever, but the crew worked really hard to get the roof buttoned up before the first storm, even working into twilight before the first flakes fell. They had to return multiple times to finish the job because it was so large and they had very limited weather windows between storms. Even though I'm sure it was annoying to return so many times, they didn't skimp - they came back as many times as it took and did quality work each time. They even applied extra attention to detail like re-painting our roof fixtures to match the new shingles without being asked. The crew was respectful and friendly. When they were done, they left our property completely clean - zero mess, zero nails on the ground. After the job was done and we'd paid in full, we discovered an issue with the gutter installation in one area. We contacted them and they arrived promptly to fix the issue. While they were here fixing it, they also installed a heat strip on one ice-dam-prone area of the roof for free because they'd happened to have the one strip left over from another job. Contractor completed job in 16 MONTHS, left materials exposed in the yard the entire time, left…read morewide gaps in siding around windows, ripped window screens, refused to listen to the customer (insisted that rotted wood didn't need to be replaced), replaced mismatched trim, telling me it was the same size, unreliable, inconsistent communication (showed up when they said they would maybe 25% of the time), all around horrible experience. I knew more about what made logical sense than the contractor or crew did! This job was a complete frustrating disaster from day one and cost a fortune, definitely not worth the stress it created. I continue to pay for this company's mistakes (still have rotted wood and a leak). I will never recommend or use this company again. This guy called his 'friends' to do required repair work or quotes, as follows: an electrician charged $700 to cap off an exterior light, 6 pieces of interior window trim replaced (3" x 34") cost $1,000 (due to contractor's crew hammering the heck out of my dormers), and a $2,000 quote for mowing 2.5 acres. Guessing they all get a kickback from each other. Ladies, watch out for contractors who take advantage of women.
