I had no issues with the food. In fact, it was very good. My problem was with the waiter. For someone who claimed he worked in restaurants in Europe, he was from Montenegro; he lost that European culture of dining. Instead he embraced the unfortunate American habit of turning tables. After our meal and dessert, we sat with our friends catching up. They were from out of town. Our waiter decided we sat long enough and actually told us he needed to make from for other guests, though there were empty tables elsewhere. But obviously not in his section. We ordered few items but they were out of a lot of things. We ended up with tuna tartare, crab stuffed mushrooms and escargots with mushrooms. The escargots tasted bland. It was just butter. Not good. The stuffed mushrooms same problem, not good. The tuna tartare was a large portion and the better choice we made. We left and my stomach started bothering me even we hardly ate anything. I threw up 2 hours later. So didn't enjoy my meal and I definitely didn't enjoy it when I saw it again 2 hours after. I don't recommend this place at all. I've lived in Miami my entire life and only visited this restaurant once for a high school banquet. I have finally made it to a sit down meal with my family 20 years later. We went for Sunday brunch. We purposely made reservations by the window with the headphones. I wanted my 9 year old to have an air traffic control room experience. We had a great time. The wait staff were superb as well. I give them 5 stars. The restaurant however, I gave 4 stars because I thought the food was just ok. The beer cheese soup was really good, my favorite item, but I thought it was a small portion for 8$. Maybe I'll return in the future. It is such a fun place and has a different vibe especially for Miami. I come for the quirky location - to see the aeroplanes, for the old world feeling when you enter. I am English and crave some history so I appreciate the older style cosy building. There is plenty to look at, they have memorabilia dotted around, a gas fire place which is always lit even if its Miami but I adds to their atmosphere. The brunch is always magnificent. There are plenty to choose from, from breakfast specialties to lunch yummies. For breakfast you could ask them to make you a waffle with the toppings you would like. They have tater tots, sausage links and bacon. For lunch there are so many things. Cheeses, seafood, meats and fruits. The waiters are very attentive and always asking if we are ok. It does become pretty busy during Sunday brunch, I advise to always call ahead and make reservations. Parking gets pretty packed, try to get there at least 30 minutes ahead. read more

The decor, music and ambiance is very nostalgic (of the 1940's). They even have headsets next to each table to listen to the tower directing airplanes landing directly in front of you at MIA. The service was very good as well. The highlight was the quality of the food and the prices, which made this an excellent dining experience for an overnight stay near the airport. With fond memories of aero squadron restaurants in my childhood, I desperately wanted to like my lunch visit here, but I couldn't. To start with a positive: our waiter was incredibly kind, attentive, and knowledgeable about the building's long and interesting history. The hostess was lovely, too. However, I tried the lunch buffet, and if you've ever been to a hotel conference room wIth mediocre catering, you'll get to re-live it with the buffet here. Every cooked buffet item tasted as if it had been thawed after being taken off the Sysco truck outside. The cauliflower soup was oddly textured and lacking in creaminess or other flavor. Most of the salad bar offerings looked fresh enough but lacked labels, from the different prepared salads to the two dressings offered. The rolls were hard and tossed out haphazardly on the table, and the breaded chicken and vegetables were soggy. The macaroni and cheese lacked cheesiness and creaminess, and the potatoes were limp. The dessert selection was square slices of mystery cakes, some petit fours, and a decent rice pudding. While I tried the buffet offerings, a staff member (who may have been the manager?) stood silently and awkwardly as I tried to navigate the buffet and, at times, around him. When I went for an entrée plate, he stood in front of what appeared to be a prime rib carving station, but he didn't offer it, and I felt like it might have been being reserved in some way. It was odd. The building itself was interesting in history but definitely in need of some TLC.I so, so wish someone would invest in turning this unique spot into a place worth returning to. read more

How can I start? Honestly, the food and service here was amazing. Very old fashioned decor, low lighting and romantic, intimate setting. Food was so so good - beer and cheese soup, filet mignon, churrasco - everything was so flavorful. Unfortunately, half way into my steak, I realize I had a hair underneath my steak. No, it didn't just fall on top. It was literally under my steak mixed with the sauce. Plus, my hair is bleached blonde. The hair was pitch black. I was SO sad because I loved the food so much but how can I continue eating with that on my plate?! I may be "overreacting" but I almost gagged seeing it mixed in with the sauce. I must say, the restaurant did great in trying to make up for it. They were extremely apologetic and tried to make it up to us so much. No words for how disappointed I was for the Father's Day brunch. To start, the parking situation was ridiculous and they totally oversold this event and probably added a ton more seating than normal. We were sat in the worst seat in the house even though I had a reservation for over a month. The tables so close together people in our party had to get up to let others out as we were chair to chair with people behind us. I didn't realize I was on an airplane. Don't get me started in the horrible, WAY too loud, electric keyboard player/tired (children's?) music being played the whole time! Ad promised a breakfast buffet with an additional station added at 4 PM (NOT SUBSTITUTING the breakfast station it clearly implied!). We arrived at 4, our reservation time- the breakfast station was broken down by then and the additional station was not set up - and wasn't until almost 5 PM - not what the ad said. I don't eat meat so was disappointed at the limited amount of food there was now to eat and especially for me. I had some fruit, bread, salad, and tried a few desserts that were supermarket quality or worse - not even worth $15. Line way too long for pasta by the time they set it up and by then I was fed up. I was told the stone crab in the paella was ruined and inedible. What a waste! Also told the meat was over cooked. No cups to get the drawn butter for the seafood. Dessert staton looked like a pack of animals raided it and it was sparse - nothing refilled- no fruit for the chocolate fountain - generic ice cream cups on ice - no flan, no fruit pies as advertised. Some cheap looking Entenmann's looking cakes cut in small squares was all I saw. Coffee station had paper cups and didn't even have packets of sugar/sugar substitute. I had to go wait at the bar and bother the bartender who was busy making drinks - he was the only gracious person in the place. They add gratuity but we never saw the server and dirty plates sat on our table the whole time and refills offered once. The worst was the rude people eating here. Who eats off their plate while still in line getting food? You can't wait 'til you are seated at your table? Or people piling massive amounts of food on their plates. Nasty. Or stand in walkways talking to your party when people are trying to walk through carrying plates. Service was abhorrent yet had to pay an 18% tip for a few plates being removed and having to eat with dirty plates for majority of meal and no refills - my guests had to find their own utensils as well at one point. Even better were the people skipping others in the station lines and ignoring/talking trash back to the people who called them out on it. Felt like I was at a horribly catered, bad wedding with bad mannered people - and feel terrible I brought my dad and family here for this circus bait and and switch show! I would have asked to speak to a manager but didn't want my dad any more upset. They don't answer email either, so yelp, here you go. For not much more could have taken everyone to Texas De Brazil and wish I had! Feel so ripped off and deceived by this place by their false advertising, horrible food, and trashy atmosphere! And the worst of all - even with what little I ate, I was sick for 2 days afterwards with stomach issues! read more
