I came in with a slow leak in a tire with only 2,000 miles on it that I'd purchased here 4 months ago. I was immediately told it couldn't be repaired and that I'd need a new tire for $350. When I pushed back and mentioned I had just bought four new tires from them recently, suddenly the story changed to "we totally understand, we'll patch it up and you can be on your way." If the tire was patchable all along, why was replacement the first recommendation? This felt less like an honest assessment and more like testing whether I'd just accept the upsell. This isn't isolated either. On a previous visit, my wife was told she had a serious alignment issue that was "super unsafe." Tesla had just completed routine service with no such concerns flagged. Between these two incidents, it's clear there's a pattern of pushing unnecessary services on customers who might not know better. Quick service means nothing when you can't trust the diagnosis. I understand shops need to make money, but building long-term customer relationships through honest recommendations would serve them far better than what feels like exploiting people's lack of knowledge. I won't be returning, which is unfortunate because the speed and convenience would otherwise make this my go-to shop.

August 15, 2020 This…read moreis my second visit to this business in 8 months. I live about 20 minutes away in Essex county. Last time I came because it was the only place open until evening on a Sunday. This time I just wanted to come again. And I realized one of the reasons I like this place so much. It's SPOTLESS! You can see the inside of the garage as the men are working on your car. Every inch of this place is clean. There is no oil and no grime or dirt on the floor. There is no old black-brownish grime in the corners. You can easily see the places where the floors meet the walls and they are clean. Since COVID-19 my car has been sitting mostly without an oil change which was due about 3 months ago. My car was eating gas and I figured the engine needed to be cleaned and the oil changed. But of course I was busy working from home so I added 2 quarts of oil and kept it moving. When I got here and ordered the engine (motor oil) flush, the guy recommended I change the cabin and air filter. I thought he was just trying to talk me up until he went into my car and showed me what they looked like. The air filter didn't look that bad but the cabin air filter was disgusting. It had never been changed and my longtime mechanic forgot to replace its frame and cover the last time he went in there. It was completely black. After I drove it on the highway I could feel the difference. The car just ran better and when I checked the engine dip stick it came out clean. My car is 9 years old. Usually after an oil change some of the grime from the old oil that has broken down usually colors the stick. It never comes out completely clean even after the oil has been changed. But the engine flush really helped. I highly recommend this place. Not only does the owner care about her business but the employees really care too. So far they have been helpful, transparent, and they keep the place REALLY CLEAN.

They fixed it with a brand new radiator hose for $400. Shortly after that, a million different lights started flashing on my dashboard, with the indication that there was an issue with the engine. I brought it back, and they diagnosed my car with a broken intake manifold, which needed to be replaced with a brand new factory made intake manifold from the dealership. Another $1000. After replacing the intake manifold, they called me and said my car was ready to be picked up. I came to pick it up, turned on the car, and didn't even get off the lot before a loud noise started coming from the hood. My steering wheel was shaking and the whole car was bumping up and down. The problem was FAR from fixed and my car actually felt A-LOT worse. Begrudgingly, I brought it back the next day, and get this. They told me that they needed to replace a whole OTHER PART - brand new fuel injectors - for a grand total of another $1400. At this point, I didn't trust their judgement. You fix my car, tell me it's good to go, but then say "wait never mind we completely missed fixing $1400 worth of damages??" Hard to believe . SO, I brought my car elsewhere for a second opinion, obviously, and they fixed it up for just $450, a THIRD of the estimate I had received from Hudson Auto. I feel like they took advantage of me. I don't trust these guys. Neither should you.
