This store has great stuff and the people are helpful and nice. That's what keeps us coming back. I was really disturbed and creeped out tonight at 730 pm 8-13-2026 by totally undeserved rudeness to me by a cashier maybe a new hire who barely could be bothered to take my money because she was talking with another employee and pointing at me and laughing with her friend. I said nothing to them and have no idea what the joke was but it really disappointed me that she would try to make me feel like a fool for just coming in. Seemed like some kind of racial animus to be frank. I don't have time for that nonsense. Not impressed at all. Seriously I don't want to encounter her again. It was creepy and weird Seriously, do better!

I'm not sure they carry that much more food, but the layout is more open and you're able to get around easier. One thing I've noticed about Trader Joes is some of their prices are actually better than national chains. Apple Juice is a good example. It's been hot so I wanted some ice cream treats, and their mini-ice creams cones were less expensive than the traditional mini drumsticks at Vons. It can get crazy, and the parking lot can still be a mess, but that's on the customer, not Trader Joes.

You can find most things under $10. I recently bought a bag of 6 navel oranges (super sweet too!) for just $3.99. They don't sell by pounds which helps a lot. Got a bag of frozen potstickers for $6 which would've been around $10 at an Asian market. Snacks are mostly between $2-$6. I'm starting to like shopping here again as they have many interesting foods that are affordable.

I'm sure there is a reason, but for the record, I've never felt unsafe or seen anyone shoplift. The worse I've done is grab a cart, find out what I need isn't in stock, and try to put the cart back only to have the wheel lock up when you try to push the cart out the door, which I think is a little weird since if I wanted to steal a cart, I would simply steal one from the parking lot. And for the record, I don't want to steal one. I feel bad for Starbucks which doesn't have a gate or fence, and US Bank is on the outside of the fence as well. The bathrooms are not. On a positive note. Oreos were on sale this week and they have plenty of favors to choose from.

My group of friends and I were purchasing snacks and waiting respectfully in line at Register 14. Our group consisted of one African American individual and three Southeast Asian individuals. When it was our turn to check out, the cashier told us the store was closed and refused to ring up our items. She directed us to customer service instead. When we went to customer service, we were informed that the store was actually still open until 10:00 PM. What made the situation even more upsetting was that after refusing to serve us, the cashier immediately rang up the customer behind us. If the store was truly closed, why were other customers still being checked out? The entire interaction felt targeted, disrespectful, and humiliating. While I cannot know the cashier's intentions, being denied service while another customer was served moments later left my friends and me feeling singled out and unwelcome. Rather than argue, I left all of my items behind and walked out. I have shopped at 99 Ranch for years and never expected to experience something like this. I hope management reviews the surveillance footage and register activity from Register 14 around 9:00 PM on June 6, 2026, and addresses why customers were falsely told the store was closed while others continued to receive service. Until then, I will be taking my business elsewhere.

What I like about this location is its smaller or feels more like a community store. They do a pretty good job of cramming in enough variety in their small footprint so make it so don't have to visit another grocery store. Sadly, I always feel like I have to stop at Vons to pick up something they didn't have, and vice versa. The one thing they need to work on is removing outdated sale prices. Twice in the past couple of months, the sale price listed didn't ring up, or wouldn't scan into the app, because it had expired. Now to their credit, they honored the sales price at the register, but it still held up the line while they verified the sale price. I assume they'll move to the digital price tags soon which will solve the problem, but until then, watch your receipt!

I went to the deli and Daniel was extremely rude and completely unhelpful. Not once did he acknowledge me or ask if I needed help, so I finally just left. To make matters worse, as I was looking around for other items to purchase, I noticed several things were already expired or expiring that same day. Nothing felt fresh or well stocked. I don't expect employees to go above and beyond every time I shop, but basic courtesy and acknowledgment shouldn't be too much to ask. Unfortunately, this hasn't been the first time I've felt that the staff here are rude and dismissive.
