This local grocery store is awesome!! It very much has farmers market vibes and they also have some cool products you may not see in the regular grocery stores. Pacific ranch market is very well stocked, well organized and crystal clean store. From the time we walked even though it was close to their closing, employees were super helpful and friendly. Closing time means they are trying to do their tasks before closure but they didnt ignore our presence. The salad bar was full and fresh eventhough the small foodplace inside was closed but they had prepaid sandwich and sushi and our mission was completed & we didnt come home empty handed. Their products from food and products to their meets and etc were super fresh. They have great section for birthday, cards and because we are close to Valentine fun bears and decorations. The Yelp entry shows $$, but should be $$$-$$$$. Ordinary market items are priced $2-$3 more than in chain markets. That said, some features make this market special. Best guacamole anywhere in the OC, best selection of tortilla chips, and the only place I know of where you can buy Las Golondrinas Corn Chips. There is a variety of very good prepared foods, Mexican, Italian, and American, that run $12-$14 and only need to be heated for a few minutes to enjoy. The rotisserie chickens are the plumpest and tastiest of any found at any chain market at $13. Fresh sushi is made daily. Very good butchers and beef offerings, including Brandt beef. The seafood is very expensive. The wine selection is extensive, with several options that are rarely found in a market. Markup is considerable on premium wines. $5.00 off coupon available if you spend $40. The fruits are fine, but the leafy vegetables are often tired from an extended time on display. We went to so many bakeries in search of the perfect wedding cake, and in the end, Pacific Ranch Market bakery won by a mile. The experience from cake tasting to wedding day was perfect. For the cake tasting, Carmen gave us different individual containers for cake flavor, filling, frosting, whipped cream, etc and we had the chance to pair different combinations. We requested to have fresh strawberries, and they were able to incorporate them. They also added white chocolate curls which made our cake super pretty. On the morning of the wedding day, our friend dropped off flowers and they decorated the cake beautifully. They were also able to deliver to the venue seamlessly and in time for the reception. They even baked us a mini cake to take home. As for the market itself, this is a neighborhood grocery store, and you can find unique ingredients here. This has always been my favorite place to shop. I am a frequent flyer here as I live down the street. I always find something different and interesting for my meals. However, today I complained for the first time. It is noon and the lunch crowd is in. Many order sandwiches to go. This is time consuming and requires staff but so do the people waiting for salad deli and the people waiting for food on the hot line. This is not my first time having to stand and stand and stand at the hot line. Behind the counter they smile at you but do not offer help. I finally went to the salad section and someone offered to help me BUT oh no I don't work on the hot food. You have to go to the meat department and get someone. Utterly ridiculous. My family and I have done business with you for over 35 years. Always excellent service and products. We pick up hot meals from your Deli at least twice a week. There have been several times in the past few months that we ordered pork chops that were under done, bloody, Stew that had big bones left it and under cooked fried chicken. I've always noticed this upscale grocery store whenever I've gone to pick up a pizza from Wise Guys and realized I've never seen another one around. Before one of my pizzas was ready, I decided to check it out recently. It's a good sized store that is well laid out with prepared foods, meats, produce, and shelf stable items. Prices kind of remind me of Bristol Farms - you can find a few things that are not too expensive, but there are some artisanal items offered here when I've perused the shelves. The prepared foods change regularly and I've seen a mix of comfort foods, dips, and Mexican dishes all ready to take home. I picked up some Aidells sausages from them because it's become difficult to find them at grocery stores near me. Ended up buying a few missing ingredients for ice cream and a Nutella copycat spread from Stranger Things's Noah that I heard about. Total was under $45, but things were a little higher than Whole Foods and Sprouts. Staff were pretty friendly whenever I've gone. The store is well stocked and the products look great. They offer a variety of healthy and alternative options for those with different dietary concerns. read more

This will be long. I was yelled at by one of their staff Sunday, Oct 20 at 4:30pm. I go in just about every week to the deli counter, ordering the same 5 items. I always start with "I'm ordering a few things, all will be 3/4lb, thin cut." Usually, the workers will write it down, repeat my order, no problem. The guy helping me (non-yeller) had a language barrier, nor was he writing anything down, so I knew it was going to take awhile. I didn't even get my 1st item ordered, without him either not understanding or hearing what I said. He asked his co-worker (the yeller) what I said, and gives me a harsh look and says "Did you ask for CANOLA?!" I replied, "No, I asked for Genoa" - emphasizing Genoa (again no sure if it was a hearing, or understanding thing). The lady waiting behind me even said, "She asked for Genoa." The yeller guy looks at me dead in the face & says loudly in front of the other customers, "Hey. Don't snap at me, alright." I did not yell, snap, or curse. My only regret is not getting the manager right then and there. I was so upset & humiliated, I grabbed the 1 item, and left; I didn't even get to ordering the rest. When I got home, my husband asked me what the heck happened & I told him. He drove out to the store to talk to the manager on duty and they went over to the yeller guy in the service deli. When confronted, he acted like nothing happened, stumbling over his words, totally walking everything back. My husband was then given the name of the store owner, who I tried to call this morning. I was on hold for over 10 minutes before I finally hung up. Needless to say, they are never getting my business ever again. Period. read more

The store overall has a lot of good products. The problem was the incorrect pricing at the cash register. Four out of twelve items rang up with incorrect pricing in favor of the store. The clerk was happy to correct the error but four items had a 2-3 dollar price error in favor of the store. I would suggest to look at your prices checking out. I live in the neighborhood and LOVE this store -- and I am realizing it is great if you never have to interact with their staff besides the basic status quo of a checkout transaction. Recently on two different occasions I asked a couple of questions and truly cannot comprehend how rude (+ BOLD!) the people who work there are. What kind of grocery store closes at 8 PM. People that work literally have no time to get there in time. Everything is really overpriced. Every time I go to the juice bar and I want to get a juice bar is closed and then they basically told me to buy an eight dollar juice that was three days old. I forgot to mention the time that I bought cookies and they were maggots inside of the bag because the cookies and the chips were so old that I ate a maggot. It was the most vile thing ever. I have never been here before and my husband came with a co worker a few times to get Olga's Tuna Salad and they did t have it this time. They had tons of items at the deli, a salad bar, they sampled dips, chips and fresh orange juice It was just a great experience. We grabbed one of their sandwiches and three sides to share. Got 3 cookies from the bakery for my kids. It was all delicious and I've been thinking about their sandwiches ever since. They make them with ciabatta bread and it is just so tasty! The have a butcher and fresh fish. Lots of items, produce, food. It's a great supermarket tucked away off of Chapman. It's fun to try. Lots of bakery items were purchased I. I went to Pacific Ranch Market to get a pastrami sandwich after tasting it a few times. My friend first introduced it to me, and i thought it was the best sandwich I have ever had. I heard the same comment from 4 other people. Today I went to the market to get it for my other friend who also said it was "heavenly". She picked up other prepackaged sandwiches, but after tasting the Pacific Ranch Market pastrami she did not want to eat the prepackaged sandwich. Also we both liked the entire store because they had so much good food, healthy food, and good bakery. The store was clean, well organized and had good parking space. Since it is near my office I plan to get their sandwiches more often for my lunch and for my other occasions. read more

Pacific Ranch Market is a nice grocery store to shop at! Like the midway point between a Ralph's/Vons and Whole Foods. Their deli is pretty good too - you can get a meal with choice of entree and 2 sides (one from the glass case with things such as Italian pasta salad, Macaroni salad, etc...). And most of the staff are cool, personable people. I had to deduct 1 point though cuz the benches to eat at in front of the store are filthy, covered in bird poop. My local market! Overall we love it. The chips and guac are better than I've had at Mexican restaurants, so fresh and good!! My family can't stop raving about the marinated chicken I've cooked for them before, and today we did the carne asada which was a huge hit!!! The sushi is fresh, and the pre-made quiche is so good too! My only complaint is it is definitely more expensive than other grocery stores. Like way more. And they have limited supply of items.
