They are false advertising and scamming customers during their closing sale. The prices on the shelves are not correct nor the discount prices. They also have the screens off at the register so the customer cannot see what price the items ring up. Once the customer pays and sees they were overcharged on the receipt, the store is refusing to refund any money overcharged. The manager at the Conroe location stated this is what corporate told them to do to get money. That's false advertising and theft from their customers, not surprised they are goin out of busy, with their lack of integrity. read more

I love the store. I've been coming here since I was a child the deals have always been good. The people are always really nice. The employees are always really nice. The store looks fantastic very rarely. Do I see stuff in the wrong place. I just so happen today to donate plasma at the Octapharma right next to it and I got really dizzy when I left and I was inside the 99 Cents store, the employee which I did not catch her name but I see her all the time was so nice to sit there and wait with me. This place is like a bad clickbait but in store version! It says 99 cents ONLY which attracted me to go in and guess what? Most things are waaay more then 99 cents. I really enjoy coming to this location. The staff is always extremely friendly and they always have some really good stuff in stock. A great place to go for seasonal decorations or just random items you may need. Honestly, I think this store is better than the dollar tree. Definitely a wider selection of items and food and very quality products. Great place and wish there were more locations. read more

Good -- Has a ton a great discount items and conveniently located next to Specs Liquor and Conn's in Conroe. I actually found a large variety of spices in here for only a dollar. You can't beat that because the food store charges 4 times as much for 4 times less. Bad- I have heard from good sources that all the discount stores use fillers in their cleaning items that is why they can sell them for so cheap. Ugly- Not much to say other than don't buy kitchen utensils in here they don't last. read more

I recently had surgery and was in search of a lay, sit, stand recliner. I walked in and was greeted. Our salesperson, Dillon was very helpful. Unfortunately the chairs that caught my eye didn't work. When Dillon asked for assistance, he was told by a person that he was busy. I bought my first sofa here and I paid cash. I was told the only way I could receive promotional sales information was if I made another purchase or I got my credit checked. Not gonna happen! Why the heck would I buy something that didn't even work in the store? Don't waste you time unless you have credit issues and need a break. read more

You can get some good bargains here and surprises if you look hard enough and I shop here quite frequently just for that. I have found some stuff that's .70 off retail value. The regular employee's that work here are helpful and friendly have pointed out some pretty amazing bargains, too. Not sure what was going on last Tuesday tho, one checker I've never seen was very rude doing a refund/exchange to a customer, and the lady next in line she yelled "mam this cash register is CLOSED" the manager helping her was all over the place too! This store is a huge dirty mess... The produce is going bad and flies and bugs are buzzing around it. Also, not everything is 99¢ or less... Some items are considerably more. I just feel dirty shopping here and much prefer the Dollar Tree across the freeway its much cleaner and all items are a dollar or less. read more

Went to buy a 900 grill and did not get a single hand taking it to my car. The man that sold us the item was an older gentleman that was physically not able to help load our car. It is totally unacceptable to not receive any help from the employees. There were plenty of young able bodies that were too lazy to help. So me and my father in law had to do it ourselves. Absolutely ridiculous and horrible service . We spend plenty of money at conns and we will continue to do so at another location read more

I found Conn's online and applied for credit. I got a call from Amir who assured me that if I came into the store, he would be able to help me get the items that I needed and he did just that. Amir is a busy guy there, but he is well worth the wait. He was very professional, he has been there for a while so he knows what he's doing. He even helped me pick out items for my home. The store is well kept and actually, all of the staff seemed very friendly. The products that they offer are of qood quality, and I would actually return there to do more business. I selected items yesterday and they are being delivered today. I actually just got a call from the delivery truck saying that they are 10 minutes away from my place. I am so happy! I have never been to a 99 Cents Only store. Maybe if I had picked another location then I would have been more impressed? I thought it was kind of a rip-off because they seem to literally give you only 99 cents worth of anything. I saw tiny 3 oz. packages of cheese, 8 oz. of cereal, but come on, no family would eat just one of those. I also felt like I was being harassed by flies, gnats, (and mosquitoes?) in the produce department. Maybe a more savvy shopper could pick out some of the better deals, but there are lots of other places to go that would offer good or better bargains with superior quality goods.. read more

THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED. Just bought an $1,100.00 Dishwasher, husband installed it properly and started it and immediately water pours from the bottom of the dishwasher. Called our salesperson and his response was they would have a service technician come out, wait what? why do I need to service technician to fix a brand new dishwasher. I didn't purchase a used dishwasher, I purchased a brand new dishwasher. So ok the technician comes out and confirms the dishwasher is defected and needs to be returned and replaced. Oh and the service technician only turns in his report when he gets around to it. After the service department receives it they have three to five days to review it, and we all know that means at least five days. I am still waiting. I was also informed they don't provide loaners to their customers. Glad I an not waiting on a washing machine or dryer, at least I can hand wash dishes. Almost two weeks in and no resolve. No matter how long this takes I will prevail in the end. People need to file reports with the BBB when this sort of thing happens. This is exactly why these type stores go out of business, cause you know karma is a bitch. Save yourself the frustration and shop elsewhere. read more

.I have certainly had my share of unsatisfactory business experiences in my time but none more regretful than the recent one with Conns in Conroe! It wasn't unexpected of course but it sure the hell fueled my motivation to pursue my upcoming plan of retaliation as I was subjected to listening to the common excuses from another major department store as to why the could not manage to supply my item as agreed or within an acceptable time frame there after which naturally consisted of placing blame on other departments. The initial excuse I was given on the first day (11/30/13) Conns failed to honor the original delivery agreement pretty much summed up the fact that certain responsible senior personnel failed to maintain productive control of their business which in this regretful situation consisted of management pin pointing the warehouse personnel and or its electronic inventory system as the culprit responsible for the unsuccessful delivery of my unit. I called in around 09:30 on 12/1/13 (day 2 without purchased unit) and rep. informed me Conns warehouse said they received a shipment of my particular washer unit which was followed up with being expected to alter my personal schedule another day in effort to believe it would actually be worth the sacrifice of trusting the undependable department store to follow through with another agreement and ended up forcing me to repeat a previous fact to sales rep. such that CONNS had plenty of time to adapt to the situation by choosing to do more in effort to mend the already wounded business relationship by offering an available unit at equal or greater value but simply chose not to which ultimately resulted to them sacrificing an intolerable amount of trust which as a new customer who is not limited to doing business with their store lead to my decision to cancel the order. To top off what had already proved to be the worst business experience of my life, I was informed of another ''catch 22'' which resulted to being obligated to arrive back into Conns location in Conroe just to finalize the cancellation of the washer unit which following my unfortunate appliance buying experience I would feel sorry for any rep. who attempted to approach me in effort CONN me into purchasing anything else from this undependable department store - oddly after being informed of costly cancellation policy, I was reminded me of another questionable money scheme which somewhat related to the fact that corporate conveniently decided not to stock any of their appliances on location which I have to assume commonly results to that hefty additional $79 + interest charge pretty often..Following every call into Conns in effort to obtain delivery status of my unit, the additional disappointment of being expected to continue standing by patiently while their corporate office forced them to support excuses which lead to blaming the warehouse for being 100% responsible for breaking our delivery agreement but I also had the unfortunate encounter with analyzing the tone of their voice which absolutely reflected NO level of actual concern what so ever as they obviously decided to continue taking advantage of the opportunity to blame the warehouse for breaking agreement along with corporate as the irresponsible for ''WRAPPING UP EVERYONE'S HAND'' when it came to adapting to the situation accordingly which at the least SHOULD HAVE RESULTED TO A SUPERIOR TAKING CHARGE OF THE SITUATION IN ATTEMPT TO MAKE UP FOR THE BROKEN AGREEMENT (beyond the $79 shipping credit he offered me on 11/30 - 1st day agreement was broke).. read more
