I brought my wife's laptop in about two weeks ago to get the mousepad fixed, our dog jumped on it and it no longer functions properly. Upon bringing it in, Roger charged me 160$ for a "motherboard level repair". I accepted it hoping that it would cover the entire job or at least most of it after repairs. Now about 3 days ago I had not heard anything from them yet so I call and they can't even recall that I brought it in to begin with. After I gave Roger all of my info that tied me to the laptop, he says he will call me back and never does. The next day I show up and he tells me it is completely taken apart and he is trying to determine what part it needs to be repaired and how much more it will cost for me. He promised to give me all the info I need by the next day. The day after that I call and he texts me back rather than answering the phone. After telling him who I am he no longer responds to my message. Today I picked up my laptop extremely unsatisfied with my experience here. To pay 160 dollars up front for my laptop to sit around and be forgotten is unacceptable. The customer service and lack thereof on Roger's part is also unacceptable. I will never bring another electronic here again and I would highly recommend that nobody else does either. I'm also fairly certain they never touched my laptop to begin with. None of the screws have any signs of being touched and the information he gave me seemed like he was making it up. read more

No updates they still have my son switch now, been there since Jun 8th 2024 and still there now. I was told repair will take 3 days? I called numerous times and was told I will be updated and that doesn't happen! I encourage you not to go to this shop, customer service is horrible. I had high hopes that $99 Computer Repair could back up and strip my Mac OS all in one desk top. My son called prior to bringing in the unit in to make sure they could complete the job. We were told yes and we were quoted $180 to do the job and it would take a couple of days. After several days my son reach out to check on the progress of the repair. When called they had not started (day 3) Several days again went by and we called again, and we were told they had just set up the computer to their station (day 5). Next,I decided to call on the progress. I called and was told that they couldn't complete the job without the computer freezing up. The venue never called to communicated this issue! During the same call they proceeded to tell me because the computer kept freezing up they needed to get access to the hard drive, which is located behind the monitor glass, and if it cracked it would be a $600 part and I would be financially responsible for it. I told them to stop the job and pack it up and I would come and pick it up. The unfortunate part of this review is they charged me half of the $180 for a job not completed! I had to hire another person to complete the job and he told me not once did the computer freeze up!? From a scale of 1 (poor) to 10 (great) I would give this business and their practices a 2. There was no follow up, or follow through, no communication and was I was charged $90 which is an extravagant fee for not much done. I understand not many people know how to work with Mac OS, but the business practice of $99 Computer Repair is not fair for a job not completed. read more

Our PC wouldn't run back on after someone crashed into a powerline. I called and they said I could drop off my machine and depending on what it was, it would only take 3-4 days. "okay"I said, "just hold onto it and I'll give you call the following week" long story short 2 months passed and I never called back and I checked my phone to a voicemail that they had fixed it!! They brought back my console from the literal dead! It took them a a few months but that's not bad after giving up after a while and then just returning back to it from the blue! So I purchased a laptop for my son on eBay. It arrived damaged in transit, as the shipping dislodged a hard drive. $99 PC repair reseated the drive, which I expected for my money. Then they updated all the drivers to optimize everything, which was better than my expectations. Then, when they called me to let me know it was ready, I explained that it was for my minor son, they then went through some safety stuff, selected software for me that will keep him off adult 18+ sites, and installed and optimized that for us. As the mother of a teenage boy who has butter fingers, I have had to step into the 99 PC repair shop to have a broken screen replaced more than I'd like to admit. We have always been greeted promptly on Entry to the store and have received our phone back in a timely manner.. It's always been a reliable, easy transaction to work with the people down at this store. HOWEVER, what has given me the motivation to write a review is the help that a young man named Chris extended to me. I'm pretty computer illiterate especially when it comes to any kind of gaming computers or computers in general.. and it becomes incredibly overwhelming when you go to make a purchase that's a lot of money with little knowledge about the thing you're purchasing... Of course I'm trying to research on my own but it all seems like a foreign language to me. Overwhelmed and frustrated and not sure what to do, I reached out to the repair shop.. I explained my situation and asked if he could point me in the direction as to where to start. Chris exceeded my expectations and was so kind to use his own time and research for me sending me links to amazing gaming computers at reasonable prices. On a side note, I have found in this covid world that people just seem generally unhappier and not as friendly..and I have been wanting to write hundreds of reviews as to all the miserable people in restaurants and stores I've encountered.... but I'm trying to be the change I want to see in the world.... I took my daughters laptop in and they kept the laptop for a long time because they needed a part from China. When we got it back, there was a loose part, and the fan was now making a noise. I took it back and they said they would fix it again, at no charge. Sounded good. A week later my daughter was notified by Amazon that someone was trying to log onto her Amazon account. Next, multiple purchases were made through Paypal from her account (which was still with the computer repair folks.) I went to the shop and spoke with the owner. She first said, that of course they had logged onto my daughters laptop, to work on it. I asked why they would log into her Amazon account, and why they would buy gift cards using her paypal account. She said the breach was not from the shop. She said her workers were honest. She then said, that they had NOT even worked on her laptop yet. That they were really busy. She said, there are hackers out there, you know. I asked for the laptop, and left. When we opened the laptop, it opened right away to the Amazon login screen. Tabs that had been accessed included my daughters master password app !!! After contacting Paypal, Amazon, etc, changing passwords, and having a frightening couple of days, things have calmed down. The evidence I saw on her computer makes me believe that the problems occurred the days after leaving her computer at this store, by someone who opened her computer, accessed her passwords and attempted to buy several hundred dollars of GameStop gift cards and other merchandise. THis was at the Lake Elsinore store. I would want you to be aware of what can happen if you leave your computer at such a place. They can just tell you "its a coincidence that you were hacked the day after you left your computer with us." Can I prove it, nope. Just be aware. read more

I talked to Mark he owns the business. Had a great talk about how they are doing with covid and let him know I used to own the store across the street from him before I was disabled and sold it. I asked him to put a MacBook Pro together that I took apart before losing my legs to blood clots. He said he would do it for me and my daughter dropped it off later that day. They charged me $169 which was a great price since they had to figure out where every screw went and changed the battery over to the new body and keyboard I had sent to them. The work was completed and their system sent me an email letting me know the repair was done plus they called me too. The laptop works great they did a perfect job. Was spoken to immediately with no waiting time, they offered to fix my phone for a price so much more cheaper than if I would have gone to Apple or my phone provider company. Mark had been pleasantly assisting another customer with their needs and was very patient and informative with every question they had asked him. Overpriced with unhelpful staff. I asked ("Joe") to talk to a manager ("Ryan") and was shrugged off, saying he was "stuck on the phone". I compared their rates for a simple repair, and they charge 50% more than competitors! As for a broken screen on an old model iPhone, you can order the part and tools on amazon and do it yourself (see youtube) for less than $7; $99 PC Repair charges $60! The establishment refuses to sell parts because the actual parts cost them close to nothing, so their customers are paying extremely inflated labor costs. I make an effort to support local businesses and have previously brought my family's computers here, but no longer. Avoid these swindlers! read more

If I good give zero stars I would. Called and spoke to someone before I even wasted my time bringing our computer in. Told the guy over the phone the year of the computer and the fact it had been off for over a year. Because it had been off we now can't downloaded any new APPS because they're not compatible with the OS. Asked if they could update the OS, because we tried and couldn't. He confirmed yes and to bring it on in. 5 days later get a call the computer is ready for pick up. Pick it up and bring it home and it has the same OS version as when it was dropped off. I called the store and asked what they did for $99? After the woman spoke to the technician, she said all they could do was "clean" it up so it could run faster. You don't call the person or inform them when they pick up the computer that you were unable to update the OS, which was the only reason it was dropped off? Be smarter than I was! Brought my daughters iPod in for repair. You have to pay upfront before they will work on your device. Paid the $99 to have the speaker replaced, over 2 months they had the device, almost weekly received a call on how another part will need to be ordered, its an additional $6 , finally get the ipod back, the screen starts to separate , its not damaged , take it back down only to find out the warranty on the repair is only FOR 90 days. This happened about 120 days later.. There is no such warranty posted in the lobby. Its not on the printed work order.. I receive a call from the owner because I refused to pay a dime more . He tells me to take my device some where else. He also informs me that the work they do must be great because he has 2 locations in business.. For that I could of bought a new device, he tells me your right, you should do that. Nice Guy! Great Customer Service. There is a beer named after this guy. Arrogant Bastard Ale! There are better companies out there that are more reputable then 99 CENT PC repair. The kicker, to this day, they have my daughters IPod. Off my soap box.
