There are irregularities in this district . When called they take long to assist the caller.

Very professional and friendly. The officers care about people in the district and respond quickly.

I am very grateful to the officer who assisted me. I was not able to do anything independantly since it was a head injury and I was experiencing a concussion.

The job of a Doorman is safety for the residents. Unfortunately the 311 non emergency dispatcher explained he is a Policeman and I do not believe his total explanation nor refusal to consult the specific definitions. If this is a non emergency number I do not think the dispatcher should evaluate probable cause and criminality. My question after 45 minutes on hold was can a police report be made without a last name...he responded "yes." The next step was not necessary as I am the one threatened and he of course, turned it around on the victim. The exchange was 11:51 am, Saturday, December 13th, 2025. Does it take a murder ... ? My escalating incidents from a Doorman took place at 400 N. LaSalle Dr. Since no one seems to listen or consider random escalations of harassment lead to larger escalations of threats and safety concerns to the victim; the name of the Doorman is Dan should anything happen to me or my Service Animal please begin with him.

As the weeks have added together into years it has walked away with my most prized experience year after year. Coming here has taught me that I cannot receive but by giving. My years of trying to gain for myself by taking always availed less and less until I was left with little more than too much stuff and too many things. Nothing more. I bring an AA meeting directly to offenders who sit in each other's rot all day with no hope and no inspiration to break their cycles of relapse and failure. I bring hope to them and I can see it come back to me in their smiles and expressions of gratitude. There is nothing like it in the world! I read a lot about the intolerance and ignorance of the guards but my extended experience has been the polar opposite. I get out of my relationships with them what I put into them. Nothing more and nothing less. They are exposed to extreme toxic behavior that comes down from the top and up from the bottom every single day. I might end up acting out my own hostilities if I had to experience the poisonous environment that they vocationally live in. I challenge any normal human to tell me they wouldn't! But when I leave my AA experience and am able to walk out the front door a free man, I experience the sensation of flight for a brief moment. A total free fall escape from the dungeons and back into my life which, for these few moments, seems so blessed and blissful by comparison to what I have just experienced.

30 December 2020 Chicago , Illinois…read more I recently moved from Chicago to Florida but returned to Chicago to spend the holidays with friends and family. While visiting a friend I experienced a "Trip & Fall" event and decided to document the event by generating a Police Report. I opted to avoid a trip to the Hospital E. R. as I was still ambulatory although somewhat shaken up. I went directly to the 012 District at 1412 S. Blue Island as that was the police district where the incident occurred. A civilian aide addressed me and she generated a report to memorialize the event in case an injury should manifest itself later leading to a medical or legal intervention. I requested a copy of the report but the request was denied. I was provided with instructions on how to obtain a copy of the report by purchasing a copy from Police Headquarters. Huh ? Why do I pay taxes ??? A report could have been printed out for free and presented to me while I was there in person. But no , I am to write out a request equal to the report just generated by the civilian aide and mail it along with a check to Police H. Q. requesting a copy of the report be mailed to my home address. Oh well , so much for the "city that works". Must be one of the reasons l left Chicago. Winter is too cold. Taxes are too high. Violent Crime is out of control.

I understand why I am the first to review Police Headquarters... it's kind of an odd thing to do…read more Chicago Police will be Chicago Police and there is not much a consumer can do about it (especially via yelp). Yet I did want to pass along something in case it might help people out in the future. I needed to get fingerprinted as part of a job application. I went to the police branch in Lakeview and asked for fingerprinting (which in my experience has always been done at a police station). They promptly directed me here, to the the Headquarters at 35th and Michigan (just about an hour via Red Line) as it was the only station that does fingerprints. When I finally arrived and waited for a half hour, I was finally told that they would not fingerprint me for my purposes. In fact, they only fingerprint people if they have been arrested. I'm not sure why they couldn't have told me that in Lakeview... If you need to get fingerprinted and you have NOT been arrested, there's a great fingerprinting/passport photo business at Clark and Adams in the loop. I recommend that unlike me you go there first.
