I have been going to Main street Laundromat for many years now and never had a problem until last…read moreweek. I had recently dropped my Brooks Brothers suit pants off to be dry cleaned while I was doing my laundry. I came back a few weeks later and the girl at the desk said she couldn't find them. I waited patiently for the owner to come in the next day ad I called and asked him. To my dismay, he said that they had lost them. I was disappointed. Then out of the blue, Brian the owner says to me that I shouldn't worry. I was confused. I asked him calmly what we should do. He replied, "don't worry, I got your back." This concerned me because I had a situation in which I needed a full suit on that upcoming Friday. So he said he would look once more and if he couldn't find anything "suitable" to replace it with, he would replace them himself. I assumed that this was not true since customer service is dead. Well, the following day came and I called with reluctance expecting to hear some type of avoidance technique because you just can't replace a suit pants without replacing the suit jacket as well. After all, they are a matching pair. So he picked up the phone and said come on down. As soon as I got there, he said to get in his car and we actually went to Brooks brothers in the outlet mall in Tannersville and he replaced the pants with the exact pants that matched the suit, brand new from the retail store themselves. What an amazing owner!! I am often complaint about customer service being dead, but Main Street Laundromat has changed my opinion of businesses on Main st, in Stroudsburg, and I am so impressed by the owner' s amend to the situation that I had to post this awesome review of the laundry service at 514 Main st. Inside the dry cleaners, there's a dedicated sewing and alterations room with a changing area. My initial fitting was on a Monday. It was short and efficient, but definitely not rushed--they were warm and accommodating, and clearly knew what they were doing. A few days later on Thursday, I got a text that the dress was ready! Alterations are never cheap, but Maria's skill and attention to detail make every penny worth it. I can't praise her enough. If you need anything tailored, I highly recommend Maria. You'll be in great hands!

But that wasn't the worst!! When I returned to the business a week later I was told, "we only accept cash or checks...NO cards. I looked around the store for a sign stating their payment restrictions. When asked where the motive was I was directed to a hand written 8 X 11 sign which was hanging about 12" from the ceiling which stated the payment restrictions. REALLY!!!!????
