Dean Automotive & Towing referred us to Derek at Wise Automotive and Derek was able to fit us in to his schedule right away that Thursday afternoon. We went into town for lunch (The Palace - great restaurant!). Derek called with an update an hour later. He found the drum brake had bound up, and also found some water had gotten into the marine grease. Less than two hours later and we had repacked wheel bearings and the brake imbalance was fixed. He had us do a test drive first to make sure it was OK while he finalized the bill. What!?! Let a stranger rmtest drive before paying!! I've worked for an 120 employee new car dealership for 16 years and I was compelled to recognize someone in my industry who did an excellent job diagnosing, keeping us updated on his progress, and did not try to upsell or charge for additional unnecessary work. I felt his charge was fair considering he had to squeeze me into his workload. AND, he texted me the next morning asking if I made it OK, if the brakes worked. Wow! That is so rare to have followup like that in any business! The car business in general has rightfully earned their reputation for being unethical & untrustworthy. However, Derek Knaus at Wise Automotive is the example in the correct way to treat a customer. In July, our brand new Denali HD Longbed got damaged in the touchless wash. Stupid me for taking a brand new truck to a touchless car wash, but wanted to knock the dust off before our wedding. I didn't stop when the wash said to stop and I know or thought I was a few inches too far forward, so I backed up a few inches. Long story short, the wash scratched up the tailgate. Blame is on me. I just wanted a simple phone call to talk to someone about what happened and to have a cordial conversation. Instead, I asked in person 3 times following the incident for a phone call. No phone call over 4 weeks later. I sent in an email inquiring, and the response was pure blame on me and basically calling it unfortunate. Great customer service. I was never going to ask for them to fix anything, but as a result of their terrible customer service, I'll be cancelling our membership. Damage was minor. Scuffed the black plastic, scuffed the white paint around it, and scratched the GMC emblem. Just know that the wash takes ONE snapshot of your vehicle when you stop and doesn't bother to check ever again. Lesson learned.

I reported the problem immediately and repeatedly, only to be told that it was my fault, then ghosted by the service department, by Stellantis, by Jeep Wave... They refused to return my calls and I couldn't schedule service. The issue has affected the main battery, Uconnect system and the backup camera, too. The "free" patches and USB fixes come with diagnostic, labor, and service fees. No more OTA updates! Now my extended warranty has expired. They will not return my calls, have blocked my ability to email and will not help me. The really sad part is that they used my original review from here in their print advertising--it was hanging in the shop last time I was there! Also the fixes would be super cheap for them and only fair for them make things right. Sad.
