I found him on Angie's list and with in a couple hours he drove out to my property and quoted a major tree removal. His quote was very reasonable given the size of the job. Him and his crew were able to remove a giant oak tree that had been a worry for years as well as added on some bush removal and another small tree. They were professional and did a great job. When a window got accidentally broke and we noticed a week later, he came out and took a look and paid the expense. I've used Jesus twice now, once to remove overhanging limbs over my roof and the second time to remove multiple down trees from a pasture. He is fast, efficient, and reasonably priced. Beyond that, he does a great job and takes pride in his work. He not only cut up the trees but when he chipped up the limbs and branches he cleaned up the area far beyond my expectations. And then without being asked had his team stand the fence back up so the pasture could be used again without additional fence work. Jesus came out Saturday1/11/2025 gave me an estimate. I had agreed we schedule for today 1/17/25 at 8 am. I called Jesus yesterday 1/16/25 to confirm the appointment and was told he was running behind and he'll be by around noon. I called today @10:52 to see when he was going to be here, and he informs me he's running behind and need to reschedule. This was schedule 6 days in advance. We got several quotes and went with this company as they were very responsive and willing to come down in price closer to our lowest quote. Thought we got a good feeling about them. We only needed stump grinding and my husband, who is an arborist, was specific in his request for them to grind the stump a foot below the surface line since we planned to put in a new tree. We made the mistake of not verifying right away and when we went to put in our new tree found they went pretty shallow with their grinding. My husband reached back out to Gustavo to request they come grind the are down to make it right, even said he'd be ok if they did a smaller section where we planned to put the new tree. Gustavo said he'd needed to speak with his boss then each day my husband called to follow up it was going straight to vm, clearly had been blocked. He called from another phone and Gustavo answered and he said they would not come back to do the work without charging. Over promise and underdeliver. They are not trustworthy and unprofessional but are eager to come get the job. It's not worth it, go with a different company unless you are ok with getting less than what you asked for. Probably not a smart move for them to operate this way with someone who is in the industry! read more

We were really excited after meeting with the owner, Jesus. He seemed to fully understand what we wanted. On the morning he was to do the work he texted me at the appointment time that he was behind which was surprising since the appointment was at 8am but I get it, things happen. When he did arrive a few hours later we again went over what we wanted done. Most of our trees are young and just needed a trim, not major cutting. He verified everything so I went back inside my home to work. I checked on him and the crew a little bit later. They did a great job on our orange tree. When I went back outside sometime later they had wacked up and thinned out our young small maple trees and our strawberry tree, which Jesus said they would NOT do. The trees looked so bad, they now looked like they were dying after they wacked them up so badly. Of course I was upset since that was not what we had discussed. At this point the owner was gone. The employees that were doing the work said that this is what they do and what they were told to do. Which was the exact opposite of what the owner told us. Luckily the employee asked us how we wanted the palm trees trimmed because he said the owner told him take out many more of the branches then we had discussed. Needles to say we were very upset over how our strawberry tree was cut and our two young maple trees. The worst is when you hire and pay someone to do a service and they do whatever they want and not what was discussed. Also, we paid over $1,000.00. I did send him a text but he never responded which I think is uprofessional. We will not be hiring him again:( read more

Jesus Velazquez and his fantastic crew at A-1 Prestige Tree Service did an incredible job removing two huge, old Arizona Cypress trees that were threatening to fall and cause major damage to our garage, yard and potentially, power lines during the storms in January 2023. Right after the first storm we noticed that one of the trees appeared to be leaning and that the ground around it was disturbed so we started calling around with no luck until one company we called that was very overwhelmed with calls recommended A-1. Mr. Velazquez was able to come out the next day to take a look. He is very knowledgeable having worked for SMUD for many years and we felt comfortable with his assessment of our situation. The job cost was quite reasonable, too. His crew was able to get started the next morning and they worked fast! The first tree was down and all the debris was removed by the afternoon. They were back the next day to work on the larger tree. It took a couple of days to complete the second removal which was understandable--it was very big--but they made sure to remove branches so it wouldn't fall during the pending next storm. Although they were working fast, there was always an eye out for the crew's safety. When the job was completed, everything was cleaned up nicely. I highly recommend A-1 Prestige Tree Service and owner, Jesus Velazquez. We fully intend to have them back for other tree work in the future. read more
