Awesome and terrific I've been wanting to get my hackberry tree cut down since 2021 I started working from home and noticed the neighbor behind me was taking his blower and intentionally making the leaves fall on my side. I was like now I know why the leaves are coming down so fast I stood on my fence and cussed the man out and he hadn't done it since.. at that time I started to save up the money. Carlos was the 4th estimate he was very personable he took his time in viewing the trees one hackberry and one camphor tree. I mention in conversation I wanted to have bricks removed he said I can do that as well and included in the estimate. Once Carlos left I called the three companies before him i asked if the offered removing bricks and all three said no. With the other three companies their estimates ranged from $850 to $1,000 and that was for two trees only. When Carlos estimate came in with the two trees and brick removal it was clear I was going with his company as he was much more reasonable without the bricks included. I scheduled my appointment 2/22 @ 8am his crew was on time bright eyes and bushy tail. I must say the day of I asked to have the 2nd camphor tree removed Carlos was accommodating he did not decline I was very appreciative, his crew was respectful of my property and cleaned up afterwards. I hit the 5 star button and Yelp prompted, "Amazing! What went well?" Everything, if you'll believe it. Everything went as close to planned as possible, which never happens. We hired Heartwood years ago to clear out a back yard for a family member and now we've come right back for more. Carlos's team showed up on time and took on cutting back a massive tree overhanging our property line. They were polite to the neighbor (even though she didn't deserve it) and handled everything professionally. I've used Heartwood Professional Tree Management twice; once in Oct 2003 and again today (Sept 2025). They did a great job on both occasions so I thought I'd take a minute to post a review. On both occasions I reached out to Carlos for a quote and I got a call back the same day and he came out to look at the job himself in order to quote the job. He provided me written estimates that explained the scope of the work and provided a few different options for me to choose from since I had a list that included both "needs" and "wants". The first time I used Heartwood, I had just purchased my home and there was quite a bit of work I needed done around the property. Carlos gave me quotes on the individual trees I asked about removing but also suggested hiring his crew for a day rate - they would focus on my biggest concerns first and continue to the less important items as the day went on, as time allowed. I decided to go with that option and was very happy with his crew. They arrived promptly, worked with skill and care the entire time, and had all of the items on my list done with a hour to spare, so I was actually able to add another thing to the list before they were done for the day. Carlos quoted me a very fair price and I was very grateful to have found him and his crew. The second time I called them out I simply needed a few dead trees removed. Again his crew arrived promptly, confirmed with me what I wanted done, and got to work quickly and efficiently. They worked with care to my property and did a great job cleaning up after themselves. WOW -- 5-STAR RATING We asked Carlos to trim and balance four 70-foot liquid amber trees so we would not be overwhelmed by the humongous drop of leaves this Fall. Carlos listened carefully to our request and provided us with a quote that made sense for us to proceed. We were TOTALLY impressed with the work. Initially I was disappointed not to see the awe-inspiring bucket truck and later realized how much better the project turned out because climbing branches allowed for greater customization. Four team members showed up in good spirits and on-time. Each member had their own duties to perform as part of the team. Father and son climbed the trees and the others made sure the work area remained organized, clean, and protected from damage (outdoor lamp, wood chipping). Employees were courteous and happy to respond to any questions I had. The team was also efficient and quiet. No yelling over the sound of the machinery. I have had Heartwood out on several occasions over the past 3 years to take down diseased trees and thin the canopies of my larger trees.
