I asked ChatGPT what to do and Chat told me to call Mount's Auto Glass, which I did. Mount's told me they refer all chip repairs to Lloyd's Auto Glass as they are the king of the hill in chip repair. So I made an appointment. The technician came out and gave me the bad news. Because of where the chip is located he could do the surgery but the patient is not likely to make it. The chip is most likely going to spread, even after surgery. The decision was mine. I decided to pass on the surgery and see what happens. Gonna try the prayers route. : ) All this is to say Lloyd's could have kept this to themselves, done the repair, collected $125 and sent me back to Texas where my windshield would likely eventually succumb to its injuries. But they didn't. They told me the truth. This is how a business committed to integrity rolls. If this chip results in a crack and the windshield has to be replaced a THIRD time, I'll probably wait till we're in Pensacola next spring and have Lloyd's do it.
