The store is very clean and well organized and Tim let me fully test the camera. The price was very fair and Tim worked with me to make sure I could take care of a maintenance item without having to cover that cost after the purchase. This was my first actual pawn shop purchase and I really appreciated Tim's professionalism, friendliness and effort to make a fair sale. The guy that I spoke to looked at the bracelet and said, the curb link chain has been added to the bracelet and the bracelet has been custom made. No shit Sherlock. I told him that as I was taking it out of the box. Then he said, I wouldn't be interested in this piece. Next, I took out a beautiful watch and he took a brief look at it and said, there's been some wear on the buckle clasp so I wouldn't be interested. Of course there has been a little wear, it's a wrist watch however there want that much wear because I have only worn it twice. This guy had MAJOR attitude and it's like he didn't even want to be bothered. Pawning is a sensitive issue for everyone however this jerk has lost touch with that and shouldn't be involved with any facet of customer service. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. in the past six months, say from November 2021 to June 2022 I've seen the prices climb…read moreterrifically, as if a new manager swept in and thought that all prices were too low. Pricing sets of silver out at $4,000-$8,000 for example, or sets of European goblets out at $1800 smacks more of the old antique-dealer one-upmanship that we often see at antique shows than a humble offerings of a thrift store dedicated to Children's welfare. The fun of the place had been that one might find true bargains, and I felt that that was in keeping with the nature of the business, a charity for children. This high-falootin' spirit may be contrasted with the demeanor of say, and ARC store, where there is a spirit of mutual helpfulness. Donations lead to fair prices or even bargains, and that in turn brings in lots of revenue. La Cache was never as cheap as ARC of course, nor is the quality of their merchandise equal, but the truth remains that the spirit of the "old place" and old pricing structures are definitely gone. Now, at La Cache, goods sit and sit and sit, which was never the point, never the spirit. There are always ten employees in this small shop at a time, and they can hound you, especially if you drop by in your work clothes, as they suspect you might steal. Being followed is a creepy experience. They now get two stars rather than one, just because they're reportedly in the business of helping children's hospitals. As far as "antiquing" goes, I'm giving up on this spot. Their system of dropping prices in accordance with the amount of time an item has sat unpurchased, is a bit arcane and off-putting. No one lives near this shop, and to try to coordinate travel with their drop-dates on your favorite item, well, it comes off as a bizarre system. This system of three price-drop dates also leads management to price too high at the outset. Really, this outfit sold a lot more when things were priced "to go." As there are many very nice people associated with this enterprise, bringing back a feeling of "sociability" shouldn't be hard. Good luck. We customers appreciate a thrift store with interesting wares above the ordinary pale, but the respect should go both ways. WARNING, this business is selling confirmed counterfeit coins…read more Location had two numismatic United States coins for sale, 1805 1/2 cent and 1846 Dime. I purchased both on separate dates for a total of $630 and sent the 1805 first to PCGS for certification. PCGS confirmed the 1805 was a counterfeit, a local accredited coin shop who I sent the first through to PCGS then confirmed the 1846 was also counterfeit. I brought back and requested a refund, business refused. Employee refused to then give any contact information for the owner when requested. I have reported this business to the BBB, FTC, and Local Secret Service field office for selling counterfeit collectible US currency.

I had a pre-approval for $2800 through Snap Finance. They give you a credit line from Discover that you can only use at certain stores which is why I went here in the first place. I walk in and start dealing with Troy and things were going great. Then the owner walks over and start asking what I am trying to purchase. We tell him it's a MacBook Pro. He asks how I'm paying and then he asks how much I was approved for. I told him that that was none of his business and that he could just tell me the price of the laptop and I would pay it. The particular MacBook I was getting retails at Best Buy for $1800. This guy asks how I was paying again and I tell him that I didn't want to tell him how much I was approved for because then he would try and mark it up more or try and sell me more stuff. I finally tell him that I'm approved for $2800. This dude looks me in the face and says, "If you want this laptop I need to get $3600. I said, "What are you talking about? It's a $1800 laptop." He starts saying, "yeah but I can't lose money on the deal and that it cost him $1000/day just to open the doors". Here is the best part. He says, "The lowest I can do is $2800". Interesting. The exact amount I told him I was approved for. I went off at this point. I said, "How the hell do you think you can mark something up 100%. ($1800 laptop and he wants to charge $3600) Troy the employee says, "He's not getting financing through us he has an approval and it's just a Discover card we can run like any other credit card." Then the owner start giving me a sob story about how hard it is to stay in business and that he's essentially losing money. I know they markup the devices by about 20% because I've purchased 3 laptops from them. So I was willing to pay about $2160 for the laptop. Finally the owner agreed to $2199. And since it was only a few buck more than I was expecting I agreed. I payed for the laptop and got my receipt and then asked him if he could go get the laptop at the "warehouse". He refused to go get it until I gave him a 5 star review on google and here. The reason they have so many 5 star ratings is that he either holds your device hostage until you give him a review or else he offers you some small trinket to leave the review. I've done business here three times and the other two were fine but stay away from the owner.

I took excellent customer service for granted, back in the 70's and 80's... because it was always there. This business was established over 60 years ago, and has weathered the storm of the economies since then. Both the afore mentioned things are why they still exist. You'll find items priced competitively. Darrin assisted me with coins on my recent visit. He knows his stuff when it comes to precious metals. If you haven't bought used stuff, try this store. Especially on tools. If tools aren't being used on a daily basis then why pay new prices at the big box stores.
