Background: We were on our way from NW Iowa to Memphis for the Liberty Bowl on 12/28/2923. After driving about 60 miles our car's radiator "bit the dust." The plastic nipple that connects the coolant hose from the radiator to the engine block broke off spewing ethylene glycol everywhere under the hood. I immediately took out my phone and started looking for a repair shop in Storm Lake...the closest big town. I gave A&A Automotive a call and spoke with Gene. While on the phone, Gene check with several parts distributors close by. I was thinking, "Better get a room for a night or 2. Where are they going to find a radiator for a 2014 Subaru Outback nearby? Oh, and kiss those Liberty Bowl tickets goodbye!" Gene came back on the line an told me he found a radiator In Storm Lake! He gave me contact info for a towing outfit (props to Tyson at Storm Lake Towing!) The car was towed to A&A and 3 HOURS LATER we were back on the road! Amazing!!!! And, reasonably priced, too! Went in for a simple oil change on a 2016 Honda Accord that takes 4.5 qts of oil with filter. Technician dumped 5 qts in because he was either too lazy to read the sticker on the fill cap or just didn't care? the business just lost a sale on new tires, won't go back. read more

Avoid A&A Automotive at all costs. They treat their customers poorly, are unwilling to locate known issues, and are argumentative when they make a mistake. They have terrible customer service and we will not be taking our vehicles back. Since moving to Storm Lake over a year ago, my husband and I have taken our vehicles to A&A Automotive for routine maintenance and have had multiple issues. On September 23, 2014, we took my vehicle in for an oil change and to have the blinkers repaired, as it seemed they had stopped working consistently. Instead of repairing the blinkers, A&A Automotive replaced one of my light bulbs, told me the blinkers were working fine, and there was nothing to fix. On the way home from their shop, my blinkers were still not working, so my husband and I decided to get a second opinion. A few weeks later we took my car to a different shop in my hometown. Low and behold that shop immediately diagnosed the issue and had it fixed within the day. I have not had an issue with the blinkers or hazard lights since. In April of 2015, we decided to give A&A Automotive another chance at maintaining our business. We took my car in for a routine oil change. When my husband picked up my car a few hours later, both back windows were a little over halfway down. This may not seem like a big deal, but my car is 10+ years old and I've been having issues with the front automatic windows for a few years. I've gotten my front driver's side window repaired a few times when it stops working and the bill is often quite expensive. Due to this (and the fact that my air conditioning works just fine), I have stopped putting my windows down altogether for fear they may not go back up. When my husband picked up my car on April 14, 2015, he was unable to get the back passengers side window to go back up automatically. We thought "No big deal", and pulled the window up manually. Turns out, it was a big deal. Now the window won't stay up! Today, May 4, 2015, I called A&A Automotive to see if there was anything they could do for me in regards to them putting my window down without first asking, and thereby making it now impossible for my window to stay up on it's own. I spoke with Adam, who basically told me there was nothing they could do and his "guys" would never put a window down when they are working on a vehicle. At this point, I asked him why both of my rear windows were down when we picked up my vehicle, if his shop did not put them down? He had absolutely no explanation for why they were down, but reaffirmed that his "guys" didn't do it. He said that it is likely my window mechanism needs to be replaced. I explained that this had happened to the front windows in the past, and I am not looking for them to repair the window to a functional state. I explained I wanted the window to stay up as it did before, I didn't care if it went back down because I don't use it anyway. After fighting with me over the phone for 5-10 minutes, making me feel incompetent, and basically calling me a liar, he finally agreed to try and rig the window so it would stop sliding down. He said he could not guarantee it would stay up, and was extremely rude about the entire situation. Needless to say, we won't be going back. A&A Automotive has terrible customer service. I felt like I wasn't listened to and my concerns didn't matter. They happily were able to take my money for services they provided, but when they make a mistake they obviously will fight with their customers to avoid having to correct it. read more

Service was fast and efficient. A technician quickly found the issue, said it would be an easy fix, and took care of the problem. We were back on the road in 30 minutes and drove to the Twin Cities that day. Very happy and grateful for the service provided. Thank you. read more
