Our experience was a mixed bag. No greetings. No introductions. I was there for a sewing machine as mine ended up in storage in another state. Finally found a clerk willing to help me out, did the paperwork and actually was rejected for the payment plan. Zero redirect to the reconditioned machines as a possibility, which my daughter had found when we split up. *I only mention the rejection because we left, went to another store who used the exact same company for payment plans and was approved in minutes & walked out with what could easily be described as a higher value machine (&yes, price) in no time. Back to this store. I have no idea the organization of this store. I'm more of a clothes maker than quilting, but really only found formal wear materials and some others. Also buttons, but kinda sparse selections. I usually sew church clothes & work clothes but also other random items like pj's. All that to say, it didn't come across as a fabric store where a variety of styles are supported. I was persona non grata after my "denial" so the items I was purchasing outright got put back. I didn't have the plague & I had cash. Just not $3k+ in cash. Unsure how the business stays afloat as this is not a way to attract repeat business. My daughter saw how I was ignored and put her items back as well. Question for the owner. Is this a common style of customer service that you want to present? Why did the other shop offer a payment plan with the exact same company for a higher priced item than your store did?

They even offer classes here which I'm definitely going to look into. I'm new to sewing so I can't say much about the value of the fabrics, but they seem to have a variety of prices. All of the employees that I interacted with were very friendly and explained what fabric I was getting. I even asked them for some tips and they were happy to help. I was told they also do a sale on the 4th of July so I may make a stop here to get some more fabric. Overall, if you're new to sewing or have been sewing for a while (and you haven't checked his place out), I would definitely recommend going.

Most recently, I noticed they started carrying children's toys and baby clothing... just in time for Christmas. Like, what? I guess they really want to be a one stop shop for all your gifting needs. Don't get me wrong... I love it, but I have to go there with a very specific mission and a list of things I'm looking for. Otherwise, I'll just end up wandering aimlessly up and down every aisle for hours finding a million things I want but don't need. And then I'll spend another hour talking myself out of every purchase lol. The good news is if I need anything craft related, they have it. But I can never find anything on my own. I almost always have to ask for assistance to locate items I'm looking for. In my floral design days, I was here on the reg for projects and I really liked exploring their dried & preserved floral selection that has continued to expand. I've scooped up some unique florals here in the past. Their current selection of dyed bunny tails is so good. I decided to stop in this past weekend to shop their sale on all the holiday decor. Wow, it felt like half the store was dedicated to Christmas. I perused every aisle and just couldn't decide what to buy. There was a lot of stuff I liked, but the decision fatigue was real. I ended up purchasing some honeycomb paper ornaments and trees that were 50% off. They're very classy and chic and I love how they can collapse down for easy storage. The main reason being that the parking lot is much more friendly, there are plenty of spots, and the store seemed less busy overall. It's located as a standalone which I think is mainly why it's a little less chaotic than its sister store. They have all the same offerings you'd expect to find for this chain. Staff was super friendly and I was greeted throughout my entire store visit. I was offered help twice as well. I knew what I wanted and I grabbed a few things and checked out their clearance sections per usual. They do have some really great deals on summer toys right now at 40% off, which is very tempting given hot Florida days! Overall: A+ Out of the way from our house, but definitely worth a little bit of an extra hike for a great experience.

As it turns out the owners Mark and Jena Miller who own M & F Fabrics, LLC, also own the Calico stores in Sarasota and Naples Florida. This store was poorly run and in response to months of attempts to find resolution all I received was an email stating this matter had been resolved without a signature. That's right no name was signed, I do not know who this email came from. In my opinion, this store treated me unfairly and the manager, Jasmine Ortiz behaved unprofessionally by telling me they would remake my valances for 4 months and then reneging. It is my opinion, that consumers should not do business with them.

There was a group of 5 of us that we were able to stop in and book our timeslot since online was only showing 4 slots. We had very clear and easy to follow instructions. The kids were both able to do their own projects and make their own choices for color. This is such a unique and fun experience and we will be back closer to Christmas to make some ornaments! We visited Florida glass house on a Saturday night for a glassblowing workshop. Each of us got to decide whether to make a globe ornament or a flower. The flowers were beautiful, but I'm very utilitarian so I went with a globe. The instructor who also owns the studio walked us through all the custom color blends he makes for his glass and that was awesome. One thing that was awesome about this workshop for someone who had never done any glass work before was that he really wouldn't let us fail. Our instructor was with us every step of the way and walked us through how we should do things and would help us if things were going awry before it became an issue. He was very good at his job and answered all of my questions about his tools and the process without hesitation. He was super friendly and showed us an installation that he was working on for a show soon too. I really enjoyed this workshop, and it's awesome that we got to take something home. I'd definitely go back for another workshop. They also do group workshop events too.
