We were not sure what to expect for the experience, but we had an AMAZING experience and made some great memories. There was a group of 5 of us that we were able to stop in and book our timeslot since online was only showing 4 slots. We had very clear and easy to follow instructions. The kids were both able to do their own projects and make their own choices for color. This is such a unique and fun experience and we will be back closer to Christmas to make some ornaments! We visited Florida glass house on a Saturday night for a glassblowing workshop. We honestly had no clue what to expect going in, but there were 4 people total which is good because it wasn't an overwhelming number. Each of us got to decide whether to make a globe ornament or a flower. The flowers were beautiful, but I'm very utilitarian so I went with a globe. The instructor who also owns the studio walked us through all the custom color blends he makes for his glass and that was awesome. One thing that was awesome about this workshop for someone who had never done any glass work before was that he really wouldn't let us fail. Our instructor was with us every step of the way and walked us through how we should do things and would help us if things were going awry before it became an issue. He was very good at his job and answered all of my questions about his tools and the process without hesitation. He was super friendly and showed us an installation that he was working on for a show soon too. I really enjoyed this workshop, and it's awesome that we got to take something home. I'd definitely go back for another workshop. They also do group workshop events too. read more

Took the Hubby for a date night and we had such a great time! Thomas made sure safety was the most important part of the experience and he was so detailed and informative. We were able to do as much work with the glass as safety would allow, and we were so thrilled with the outcomes of our flower sculptures. My friend and I took the beginners class. We really enjoyed it! At the end of the class, we finished a stained glass piece. They provide instruction, all the necessary tools, help and assistance to ensure your project is beautiful! They teachers are very patient too. We went to the Thursday night class where you go 4 times (6:30-9pm). We went right after work. It was relaxing. I would recommend this to everyone who is interested in creating art. Just completed my 4 week class in Stain Glass art. and I absolutely loved it. I highly recommend this studio to anyone looking to start a new hobby. The class instructor takes you step by step through the entire process with lots of expertise and most importantly Patience. (After my wife and I had our very 1st glass art class last night, the owner Rick sent me a follow up email the next morning to thank us for coming) The following was my response: "Rick, Thanks for the follow up. We had a great time as well. My wife and I really enjoyed the experience and oddly enough, for different reasons. As you know this was something I set up as a surprise date for her and she really enjoyed the craft and art part of it. I really enjoyed the educational, technical, and science part of making a piece. The fluid dynamics of molten glass and the seemingly primitive tools used to create such beautiful works of art was a treat for me. We both appreciate the intimate setting and of course your teachings and patients along the way. Being able to show off our works and saying we did 80-85% of the hands-on work will shock some of our friends and family. But more importantly serve as a permanent reminder of our time and learnings with Atlantis Art Glass Studio. (that is to say we don't drop the pieces on a hard surface...there goes permanent, but the memory will always remain) We have already been highly recommending you as the place to go for a "real deal" glass art experience. If you don't mind, I'm sure we will post some pics on social media to perhaps give you some more exposure along with word of mouth. The cost was a pill to swallow at first, but given the individual attention and physical pieces we made (with your help of course) that we get to take home as souvenirs made it worth every penny! We felt like you cared and were not rushing us to get out of the door. Kudos! If your future noobies happen to read this post/review... they wont be disappointed to take the class. My roommate has started making mosaic pictures frames and mirrors and gets her glass from here. This is sort of the epitome of a small, local, niche business.The owner was so nice and helpful. They sell sheets of glass in a variety of sizes and then of course they have a scrap glass section which is a great deal if you don't need a lot of certain color. I think they have classes. There is a work station where you can work on your projects and get help. They have some machinery that you're allowed to use too. It's a cute little place. The parking is the back so if you're coming from 17-92, you have to drive past the place then make a right and another into the parking lot. read more
