Pawn shops are not a new experience for me. Typically I purchase items from sporting goods to…read moreelectronics and I have been to most every shop in Charleston and Hilton Head Island. Typically when you get to know the managers, prices you pay can be 3/4 less than retail. Similarly, as with the TV show there is a negotiation that is always the same. Customer speaks first (Never do that) pawn shop counters low and it goes from there. Always know the market on an item before you buy or sell. But yesterday I was the recipient of the best pawn shop experience thus far. I was looking for a juicer to replace one that died a horrible death a few months back, I needed MORE POWER! So while browsing craigslist I saw the juicer I really wanted, Jack Lalanne's JLSS Power Juicer Deluxe Stainless, $194.51 in Sears. Cash America Pawn of America had it listed at $80.00, so I figured the picture really was not showing the wear and tear on the item. Wear and tear was the problem of buying a juicer from an individual, as the ones I went to see were very used and grossed me out a bit. So, I began to get ready to negotiate but contrary to every other pawn shop experience, business integrity was involved. The manager gave me a great deal and discounted the item to a final out the door cost of $74.92 in brand new, factory condition. I was told over the phone there was a box for it, but when the manager went to the stock room, it was not to be found. With the deep discount I was willing to go online and get the manual, recipes etc, even though I was told otherwise. My phone rang an hour later, the box was located and was driven the 20 miles to me at my home by the manager. If that is not going above and beyond in terms of customer service, feel free to tell me what is.. This review is specifically regarding the DJR Expert Guide I purchased through the website. I found…read moreit to be woefully inadequate. I purchased a guide regarding Hermès Kelly bags. This guide is not at all what I was expecting it to be based on the description. It provides no answers to the questions posed in the summary, only offers a rudimentary rubric that could be applied across any number of luxury brand purses. I was not expecting information specific to my exact bag, but there is a total lack of helpful information. I requested a refund and was denied one. This aspect of the business feels like a complete scam. Furthermore, there are several inaccuracies in this document. It is inaccurate to say that repetitive grain pattern is an indicator of a counterfeit bag given that Hermès utilizes pressed leathers such as Epsom and Madame. As for the comment that leather thickness is based on bag size, this is not accurate. Hides are skived according to the model type, and where on the bag that piece will be. For example, a Kelly's side panels are thinner than the front panel.

I am outside the 15 day return window, if I went to GameStop (the place I originally purchased from) it is now used item I am selling back. Shame on me for waiting so long, I thought I would try for the 187th time to be a gamer... I am not. I know the buy back price at GameStop (credit), I take my chance at MoneyMan. I was greeted by a gentleman, didn't catch his name. He asked what he could help me with, I told him, showed him and off to work he goes. We run into a hiccup. Melissa explains the situation and I ask a few direct questions, and she gives me a few direct answers. She wasn't rude, she was straight to the point. Time is a commodity I'm not getting back, I appreciated the non-round about way to get to an answer. So I take my toys and start to go to GameStop, or do I? A solution was found and I make me way to the counter. The items are appraised. I was given a number, yeah it was lower than I wanted. I was given a factual reason as to why the number was given. I did one chance to haggle (I'm terrible at it) and was told with additional information how she landed at the number. I agree, I don't want to walk anymore in the heat, and my eyes were dilated, I'm walking unsteady. They check the device to see that it is in the condition I claim it was. I hand over my license. Asked a few questions and greenbacks were handed to me. I accomplished a task I wanted to today. Is it less than I wanted, sure, someone is gonna get a great deal on a never used Switch 2 with Mario Cart and a new Street Fighter game. They are in business to make money. If I wanted more I could keep it on the Facebook Marketplace and the Nextdoor. Then make my way with thst crap show of people asking questions, flaking or giving me counterfeit bills. I could have gone to GameStop and possibly gotten the same result. It is what it is, and am grateful I got what I got.

The old lady with short hair and glasses (who I'm assuming is manager?) was SO EXTREMELY RUDE I can't even believe the way she behaved towards us as customers. I came in to sell a $3,000 camera to them, despite the lowball offer of only $400 she gave me, said I'd move forward with it anyways. After waiting almost an HOUR and looking around while there (their amount of available items for purchase extremely small and not of good quality as well), I came across a collectors pen they had for sale for almost $2,000 that I told them I was also wanting to purchase. The extremely rude woman then proceeds to tell me that I have to provide her with an original receipt of purchase for the camera I was selling them. The Amazon receipt from the person I purchased the camera from that I showed her apparently didn't work and she needed proof of my personal sale purchase I bought the camera from to buy it (NEVER in my life have I had to jump through so many hoops to sell an item to a pawn shop). Extremely frustrated after spending so much time there already and the attitude this woman was giving me the entire time, I left, drove all the way back home, got my checkbook with the copy of the check I wrote the woman I purchased the camera from, and came back. Please take note, I did not in any way cause any type of scene or raise my voice towards anyone when I left, I was simply agitated and in a hurry to finish this errand and get to my son's school to pick him up before they closed. When I return to this JOKE OF A PAWN SHOP, I come in and this woman immediately starts talking horribly IN FRONT OF ANOTHER CUSTOMER about me and how she didn't like that I was frustrated when I had to leave and drive home to get a copy of the check I wrote to purchase this camera and REFUSED to continue the agreed upon purchase. Not only did they lose out on the profit of this $3000 camera I was willing to sell them for basically nothing, but also the profit they would've gotten from me purchasing the $2000 pen I wanted to buy from their shop as well. I'm an owner of a corporation myself, and if any of my employees EVER treated and talked to a customer the way this woman did to me that day, they would IMMEDIATELY be fired. I will NEVER return to this location or any Money Man Pawn shop again after this horrendous experience, and I highly recommend any person considering going here AVOID at all costs! I would also like to make note to actual management and the owners, to reconsider the type of people you hire to represent your brand, stores, and customer service team. Ridiculous doesn't even begin to define how I was treated and the experience I had here.
