I bought a Nintemdo Switch 2 Bundle with the Mario Cart, a protective case, a carry case and a Street Fighter game. I am outside the 15 day return window, if I went to GameStop (the place I originally purchased from) it is now used item I am selling back. Shame on me for waiting so long, I thought I would try for the 187th time to be a gamer... I am not. I know the buy back price at GameStop (credit), I take my chance at MoneyMan. I was greeted by a gentleman, didn't catch his name. He asked what he could help me with, I told him, showed him and off to work he goes. We run into a hiccup. Melissa explains the situation and I ask a few direct questions, and she gives me a few direct answers. She wasn't rude, she was straight to the point. Time is a commodity I'm not getting back, I appreciated the non-round about way to get to an answer. So I take my toys and start to go to GameStop, or do I? A solution was found and I make me way to the counter. The items are appraised. I was given a number, yeah it was lower than I wanted. I was given a factual reason as to why the number was given. I did one chance to haggle (I'm terrible at it) and was told with additional information how she landed at the number. I agree, I don't want to walk anymore in the heat, and my eyes were dilated, I'm walking unsteady. They check the device to see that it is in the condition I claim it was. I hand over my license. Asked a few questions and greenbacks were handed to me. I accomplished a task I wanted to today. Is it less than I wanted, sure, someone is gonna get a great deal on a never used Switch 2 with Mario Cart and a new Street Fighter game. They are in business to make money. If I wanted more I could keep it on the Facebook Marketplace and the Nextdoor. Then make my way with thst crap show of people asking questions, flaking or giving me counterfeit bills. I could have gone to GameStop and possibly gotten the same result. It is what it is, and am grateful I got what I got. read more

BEWARE!! I have literally NEVER in my entire life been treated as a customer the way I was in this pawn shop. The old lady with short hair and glasses (who I'm assuming is manager?) was SO EXTREMELY RUDE I can't even believe the way she behaved towards us as customers. I came in to sell a $3,000 camera to them, despite the lowball offer of only $400 she gave me, said I'd move forward with it anyways. After waiting almost an HOUR and looking around while there (their amount of available items for purchase extremely small and not of good quality as well), I came across a collectors pen they had for sale for almost $2,000 that I told them I was also wanting to purchase. The extremely rude woman then proceeds to tell me that I have to provide her with an original receipt of purchase for the camera I was selling them. The Amazon receipt from the person I purchased the camera from that I showed her apparently didn't work and she needed proof of my personal sale purchase I bought the camera from to buy it (NEVER in my life have I had to jump through so many hoops to sell an item to a pawn shop). Extremely frustrated after spending so much time there already and the attitude this woman was giving me the entire time, I left, drove all the way back home, got my checkbook with the copy of the check I wrote the woman I purchased the camera from, and came back. Please take note, I did not in any way cause any type of scene or raise my voice towards anyone when I left, I was simply agitated and in a hurry to finish this errand and get to my son's school to pick him up before they closed. When I return to this JOKE OF A PAWN SHOP, I come in and this woman immediately starts talking horribly IN FRONT OF ANOTHER CUSTOMER about me and how she didn't like that I was frustrated when I had to leave and drive home to get a copy of the check I wrote to purchase this camera and REFUSED to continue the agreed upon purchase. Not only did they lose out on the profit of this $3000 camera I was willing to sell them for basically nothing, but also the profit they would've gotten from me purchasing the $2000 pen I wanted to buy from their shop as well. I'm an owner of a corporation myself, and if any of my employees EVER treated and talked to a customer the way this woman did to me that day, they would IMMEDIATELY be fired. I will NEVER return to this location or any Money Man Pawn shop again after this horrendous experience, and I highly recommend any person considering going here AVOID at all costs! I would also like to make note to actual management and the owners, to reconsider the type of people you hire to represent your brand, stores, and customer service team. These guys sold a Macbook to me and claimed it wasnt password protected. I was able to get into the laptop, but when I tried to save some files it asked for a password. Tried to return it and of course all sales are final, dont get scammed by these guys read more

Not a bad pawn shop, but not the best either. The Money Man Pawn on James Island tends to have more stuff that fit into my lifestyle than the one in Mt. Pleasant. The staff here is friendly when I recently visited to sale some stuff that would have otherwise went to Goodwill; I was surprised my old DVDs were worth anything. read more

When living in Mt. Pleasant I would stop by Money Man to browse some items that I typically am drawn to. Hand tools are usually hit and miss, found some S&K crescent wrenches, some MAC impact sockets and paid about a dollar a piece. My favorite purchase was a set of Mirage OM-7's floor standing loud speakers, but blew 2 big receivers when trying to play them super loud for super long, but I got my money's worth out of them. I fixed the Yamaha (Yamaha 2070)-what a pain the you know what to do that. I also fried the Denon AVR 1100, which I may have paid $75.00 for. New they were over $900.00 Having been around audio a long time, I knew they would blow under such stress of trying to drive a 4Ohm speaker, but I like fixing things, or destroying things, maybe both. You can normally come across some classic golf equipment- (Beryllium wedges-old PING putters and much more) Great selection of used and new guns, Apple items, PC's and laptops-DVD's, CD's and much more. read more

I was provided with good assistance, and was not swindled. So far my purchase works perfectly, better than something bought brand-new at Walmart. I did not pawn anything, you can't rate a pawn shop by how much value they place on your garbage. We all have internet, go do it yourself. read more

Every so often I'll make a trip into Money Man to see if I can find a steal on something that I'd like to have. Unfortunately, rarely ever do I find a deal that's worth anything. They are priced high and don't offer close to any value for anything you bring in. It's unfortunate there's no other competition for Money Man in Mount Pleasant because a good pawn shop can be a lot of fun read more

Good items available for sale at a reasonable price. The customer service was ok. However, I was able to place a firearm on layaway and it was a great thing I came early to pick it up. When I came and pick up the firearm, at this time they ran a background check which wasn't a problem. But my license address doesn't match my current address . I wasn't allowed to pick it up due to this until I bought government paperwork with my current address. I asked for the money I spent to be refunded since I couldn't pick up the item. I was unable to get my money back because it has been past 30 days. And if I didn't get to proper documents to pick up the item by a certain dates I wouldn't be able to get the item. This is something that should have been done from the beginning. If I waited until the end of layaway to go get it I would've been out of my money with no item. Have to change that process. read more

As a buyer, they have been an excellent source of discounts on many things. Most of my purchases have been at the Mt. Pleasant store. Generally the staff have been pleasant and had adequate knowledge. I do find it annoying to not be able to return items, but perhaps customers have abused that. read more

My son went here to sell his surfboard. They agreed on a price but they needed a parent to complete the transaction. When I went back with my son to complete the paper work, the "regional manager" assisted us. I explained to him that my son had been here a few days a go and made a deal with one of his employees. I was just here to complete the agreement. The "regional manager" said that his people are not supposed to talked with someone under 18, so no deal has been made. We discussed that they HAD agreed on a set price and that is why I was at the store. He said that there is NO WAY that they would pay the agreed upon price for our surfboard. The price my son thinks is being offered is not correct and he doesn't know why we would think they would offer such a high price. I asked the "regional manager" if he was calling my son a liar. The "regional manager" said, "Yes, I am calling your son a liar and this is why we don't deal with anyone under 18." Unfortunately, they are the ones not telling the truth and it was a hard lesson for my son to learn. If you need to use a pawn shop, don't use any of theirs. If they can lie about a child then they have no moral standards. read more
