This location has an enormous selection of plants, flowers, and yard decor. Prices are competitive with friendly staff. In addition, they carry water plants for ponds. Very disappointed in Jim Overby and the manager. Bought 8 trees, 1 died. Sent a pic of it but they thought a deer had eaten on it but we had broken a limb off to prove the tree was dead. He never even came out to look at it. We think since it was the last tree they planted they were in too much of a hurry and just didn't pack it well. Mr. Overby is the most difficult person to get in touch with and when we left voicemails or texts he never responded. Finally he said he would replace the tree after we called the manager. He lied to her stating he told us he was going to replace it. It's been over a year now and still nothing. So obviously we had to pull up the completely dead and awful looking tree. We've bought much from them over the years but after losing an $80 tree we'll continue at Lowes or the Farmers market from now on. read more

We LOVE A&A Plant Nursery. We have gone there for years. Their Plants always do great, grow, bloom well. If you ever have a question about what plant would do better than others they will help and seem happy to help. Everyone I have help me there over the years has been great. WORST COSTUMER SERVICE. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS OWNER. After buying a several plants from them for mothers day (spending over $100), we noticed one plant was diseased. I called to ask if I could bring it back for a healthy one (only one week later) the owner was so rude and had me take photos to prove the plant was ill. After proving it was ill, she began telling me I was rude and said I could bring it only if it was healthy with a receipt. I again explained how the plant was not healthy and that's why I wanted to come back to get a healthy one in it's place. She again yelled and me saying I was rude. Service was great! It was pretty busy on a Saturday. I was checked out by an employee outside by my cart! So fast without standing in the line inside. Saturdays are busy. There is a huge selection of plants. I needed three muly grasses which are hard to find. An employee helped me find them and recommended that I buy the larger ones which made sense. It was 3 times the size of the smaller one with little difference in the price. I will be back!!! read more

Best place to get plants! They have a wide variety of plant options and the staff at A&A plants are all so friendly and extremely helpful. If you need recommendations for what to plant in a certain area, they are there to help you out! This was my first time at A&A. I was unsure of what would look best so I asked for some help with ideas. Jordan was amazing. I showed her a picture of our new outdoor fireplace and she helped me put together 2 striking planters. She incorporated the "feel" I wanted and used her knowledge of plants and arrangements. A&A Plants is family owned & operated and has been in business for many years. This place can be kinda crazy on the weekends, seems people come from all over to buy flowers here, I always see a car or two with Virginia tags when I've been here. Shopping for flowers is easy, you just grab one of the carts & go pushin' it around the greenhouses & load it up with whatever you want. Very cool nursery to check out. read more

Went in to ask about help with some palms I bought last fall. Spent 800 bucks. Was told they were good for this region. Did not ask for a refund but some help and was rudely told there was nothing they can do. They do not stand behind their product. This is the second time and last time I will deal with a business that is rude to a customer only asking for help. If you have cash in hand they will tell you anything after that good luck. I honestly do not know how the owner Sissy expects any type of customer service from her employees when she her self gives none. Anything positive would have made me happy but the ohh well cant help the weather your screwed attitude just sucked. Do not shop here many other LESS EXPENSIVE games in town that back up what they sell. The palms died this winter even though I was told they were good for this region. Any help would have made me happy but the attitude was simply unbelievable DO NOT SHOP HERE. read more

A & A Plants is one of my favorite nurseries in town and it is definitely worth the drive out there. The staff has always been very knowledgeable and helpful. I went there yesterday needing about seven different types of plants and they had most of what I needed. I ended up getting a couple extra plants that I love because they were able to help me sketch out a plan of how I could arrange them in a garden next to my driveway. Not only does A&A have a large variety of plants to choose from but they have an beautiful and creative section of decorative items. It is fun to explore the store. I do wish they had longer hours on Saturday though. read more

If you don't have a degree in plant horticulture they will talk down to you like your a two year old. I bought azaleas there and was told they would bloom in the spring. A month into spring and no blooms. Apparently i don't know the right "variety", and no one offered any advice. When I called today and asked for the owner i was told "I AM the owner", but waited on the phone for a bit while they got a guy on the line who called me "jack"...Guess he doesn't care cause he's got my money and I've got crappy plants. Of course their saleslady lying to me didn't seem to matter. If you can find plants at other reputable places I would avoid these lying rude people. read more

Don't go there !!!! Figured out what at least one of the A's stands for. Purchased 2 rhododendron plants for an anniversary gift. Planted them 10 feet apart in exactly the same conditions using the staff recommended soil treatments, one lived, the other died within weeks. Returned to discuss issue with staff and got an abrupt "we don't offer any warranty or guarantee" on any of our products. When you drive up you see "shop local", "shop small business" but how can anyone expect people to purchase from someone who won't warrant the products they sell. I'm a contractor so if I install let's say a door that fails. I must fix/replace and then deal with my supplier. I don't expect any different from someone selling shrubs. Been shopping there for years but will never return and will warn others every chance I get. read more

called and asked the lady who answered if they carried powder gypsum after being put on hold she came back and said they do and gave me a price I then drive 30 minutes to them only to find out it wasn't powder but pellets this place need to get people who know what products do and not tell you something just to get you there and hope they can make the sale to you anyway read more

Rude owner, unlike any experience I have ever had, hands down. I spent several hundred dollars at A&A Plants on beautiful annuals a few weeks ago. The day after the purchase, 2 of the Hibiscus started dropping their blooms just before they opened. By the next day, Sunday, over 20 blooms had dropped off, which I put in a plastic bag. Examining the plants closely, I saw that they had thrips, the tiny pests that are hard to get rid of, causing the blooms to fall off before opening. Not wanting to spread the pests to my other plants, I took them back to A&A. I was told by one of the staff that none of their plants had ever had pests. After waiting 25 minutes to talk to the owner, Cissie, and showing her the bag of unopened blooms, she said I must be pinching off the blooms. I didn't say, but wanted to, that I don't buy plants so I can take them home and destroy them. She then said they spray all the time for the pests but they would not give me other Hibicius OR my money back despite the fact that I had just bought them & the tags were still attached. I explained that I didn't want them at my home to contaminate my other plants. Her attitude was totally defiant and insulting. She said she would show them to her husband and call me in a couple of days. I said you are the owner of this business and you are not going to make this right? Yup, you got it. I knew I would never hear from them again and now 2 weeks later, nothing. Too bad, I have friends who were getting ready to have A&A do an estimate for a total landscape and have decided they don't want to do business with anyone who treats people this way. read more
