First rate selection, First rate customer service, but to go along with that the prices are also quite high. That's how I'd sum up the Big Greenhouse in one sentence. This place in many places can feel like an adventure into another world. Part greenhouse, part antique shop, part cat habitat (which I appreciate). Inside, you'll see some very attractive decor, and even room setups incorporating interesting plants that will set your design desire alight. Outside, the journey through the plant selection and greenhouse itself can often feel like wandering through a jungle. I definitely spotted some plants I have never seen before. That said, each time I was intrigued to learn and potentially but a plant, sticker shock made me put it right back down. Even for plants I know well and are pretty common and I could tell by their operation are easily propagated, I was dissuaded by the price from taking it home. So in general, prepare to be inspired, but also be prepared that you may not be able to buy everything you want here. Otherwise, this place is a very cool journey. read more

Stopped in here randomly with the family, the greenhouse is amazing and the prices are even better. They have so many plants and trees all are huge and well under avg price for the size. If you like nurseries this place is a must! read more

Quite adrive for me, but wow. They take amaizing care of their plants and the prices are reasonable. 5 foot lemon tree full of lemons came home with me. I gave a lemon to the man who was so helpful and he was so happy. Great team there and the formerly stray kitties are so happy there. read more

One of my favorite plant stores in the area! The front is loaded with stuff: pots and gifts and goodies but the actual greenhouse! My goodness, I try to go every few weeks because they always get new stock in. Today I saw a plant that was new to me, and asked a few questions to make sure I could provide it a beautiful home: the staff was so kind and helped me understand name, water and light needs. When I was checking out the women complimented the beautiful plant I chose: are the plants a little pricey? Yes, you're paying more than Home Depot or Lowe's: and you're getting a plant that is healthy and hearty and I've never brought home one that has made my other plants sick (which has happened from big box stores.) Definitely worth a visit, and someone buy me a giant bird of paradise please? Thank you! read more

Wow! The drive here was definitely worth it. I love plants and heard about Big Greenhouse from a FB friend. They have several greenhouses filled with plants, as well as a gift shop. I'm mostly interested in houseplants so that's where I spent most of my time. I was very impressed with their customer service. They had several shipment boxes on the floor so I was able to take a peek at some of their new plants. There were a few things I was interested in but they were still unmarked. One of the workers was kind enough to take out a plant for me and asked the front desk for the cost. Their plants look well organized and healthy. The prices are excellent. I was so excited to find a few uncommon plants like the Variegated Hindu Rope for less than $7! I will definitely visit this nursery again when I am in the area! read more

Not only is this a great place to find a plant or several, but the whole front of the building is filled with an eclectic mix of antiques and trendy pieces for the home. You sort of have to navigate to the back of the building to find the door to the greenhouse, but press on! You'll find it. Plants & Answers: The Big Greenhouse is like a hipster Narnia on Spring Garden St. You don't want to miss this! The staff was very helpful and they gave me tips on my succulent as I paid for it - such gems. read more

I loved this greenhouse! It was like being in a dream filled with plants. All of the plants were in good condition and there was a large variety to choose from. The staff was super friendly and willing to help cart the plants and bring them to the register. However, some of the staff was not very knowledgeable on the plants themselves. 10/10 for me! Best one that I have been to in the triad area. I also thought the prices were comparable to that of Other locations. If you want larger plants you will pay more money. read more

This place goes by two names: "Big Greenhouse", and "Plants & Answers". We just moved to town a few months ago, and I've been struggling to find a good place to buy house plants. My struggles are over. This place is amazing. They have a great seleciton of tropical plants in many sizes, and Sarah is very knowledgable about the various species and how to care for them. I bought four plants for my office, and I will be going back to buy a bunch more for our house. Great spot! read more

Procrastinated in sending some friends a thank you for a wonderful trip to Greensboro. Decided to combine it with Mother's Day. After calling around and either not getting through or being turned down this very busy Mother's Day weekend, I reached Plants and Answers. Am I glad I did! A woman named Susan answered my call and very patiently, cordially and extremely helpfully listened to my requests. What I thought would possibly be a one time order, since I live in another state, will now most likely be a go-to when I need other special gifts for my friends in Greensboro! And I have to say, "Plants and Answers" is such a fabulous name! read more
