The new wood arrived and was then Caesar showed up to do the floors. Under the tile he found beautiful parquet flooring that he was able to refinish. Carl requoted us and we oil back the ordered wood without issue. The flooring turned out fantastic. If I had more flooring to refinish I would definitely call Carl again.

We were very clear in explaining what we needed during the quoting process and our short time frame we were working with as we had other contractors coming the following week. I had to call and remind the owner the Friday before that his crew needed to be there on Monday morning and the house would be empty. He seemed surprised but managed to get someone there. To top it off, the guys showed up each day between 8:30 and 9:00 but would wrap up and leave by 2:30PM each day (We hired them to paint the entire 2800 square foot home that was empty). By the end of the week, the walls were done but several of the items (pantries, closets and trim that we agreed needed done, did not get done) We paid for service that did not get done and the owner promised to send a refund for that unfinished work. I've called several times, spoken to him, left voicemails but he fails to send the refund promised. The sad part of all this is they were referred to us by friends but we are very dissatisfied with this company and the owners lack of follow through and failure to make good on work and promises. We will never recommend or use Fine Painting again.

We were deep into the phase of considering what we wanted for our new space but not nearly to the point of picking out materials, design, products, etc. Unfortunately, the spring hail storm of 2021 in Hamilton County, IN forced us to pull the trigger sooner than expected. Because I previously owned a home improvement business for some years, I knew enough to interview multiple contractors until I found the one who I believed was made of the same integrity, commitment to open communication, and dedication to quality that made my own service to others a joy and a success. That is why we contracted with Wallace Construction. I'd like to say that our project went completely without fail, but the opposite is the case. While I personally initiated many Change Orders; we also had the misfortune of trying to carry on a large scale project during the perfect storm of the supply chain crisis; rapidly rising inflation; unending lockdowns, mandates, and other issues caused by an on-again off-again virus; and a surge of people doing home improvements with money saved up because of nowhere else to spend it. Our project experienced numerous issues due to shipping delays, material shortages, subcontractor illnesses, bad weather, and the usual gremlins and violations of Murphy Law. The purpose of this review is to point out the superb commitment to integrity that Marc Wallace and Wallace Construction Group, LLC lives by. I knew through all of the clutter that communication would be timely, honest, and forthright when coming from Wallace Construction. Whenever there was an issue with pricing, materials, a subcontractor, etc. Wallace would listen to my concern and if I was in the right, he wouldn't stop supporting my position until I was appropriately satisfied. Wallace Construction delivers the highest level of quality product and will not take on a job that he's not willing to stand behind. Wallace exceeded my expectations on most deliverables and worked tirelessly to correct anything and everything that needed corrected. Another thing I asked of Wallace Construction Group prior to starting our relationship was that they have good documentation, especially when it comes to Change Orders. They were very good at this and it helped a great deal when asking for clarification on details in our large project. My main recommendation for Wallace Construction Group is for them to train and delegate some of the more repetitive and tedious administrative and project management tasks. This would allow them to do more of what they do best. As a prior business owner, I'm proud, pleased, and privileged to say that Marc Wallace and Wallace Construction Group, LLC is the only company I will ever use or that I will ever endorse or recommend. MEANWHILE, DENISE WALLACE HAS 1 STAR REVIEWS OF OTHER COMPANIES (PICTURES ATTACHED). I'M CURIOUS IF THESE COMPANIES SENT DENISE A CEASE AND DESIST. I hired Wallace Construction Group in June of 2022 to fix damages from a water leak, which totaled over $41,000. The work was "finished" in June of 2023. It was a long battle with insurance. Looking back, I realize how poorly managed it was with WCG negotiating with insurance. Fast forward 7 months after the repairs were "finished", I deeply regret our decision to hire Marc and Denise Wallace. 7 months after the repairs were "finished", we noticed ants were coming out from behind our oven. Once the oven was pulled out, we discovered the water line WCG installed to the refrigerator was kinked and leaking. It clearly had been leaking for months since mold was present. I immediately called WCG. Marc instructed me to use bleach to clean the mold. I texted Denise pictures of the mold (Jan 18, 2024 text message attached). Marc came the next day to look at it himself. WCG arranged for their plumber, who they originally contracted the work to, to replace the water line. The plumber replaced the water line. He apologized and stated that the water line originally installed wasn't very durable and the water line they usually use must have been on backorder when they installed it roughly 7 months earlier. Weeks later, we bring our newborn baby home from the NICU. I became concerned that the water had leaked behind our cabinets and into the room behind. After inspecting, I found the hardwood flooring had started to buckle and the drywall behind the cabinets was covered in mold. I immediately called Denise. Denise and Marc took no responsibility for the damages. Even worse, Denise explained that mold isn't harmful and that "Marc would call me to further explain". Instead of calling, Marc forwarded me an email between him and his plumber, which gave an overview of their conversation of the damages (email attached). Marc and the plumber decided to make up their own narrative that I was "cleaning behind the oven and I cut the water line" and stated that mold isn't harmful. This was the farthest thing from the truth. Marc was at my house the day after the leak was discovered. The stress that this caused me and my family, while having a newborn exposed to mold, was extremely challenging and difficult to come to terms with after just 7 months since our house was fixed from the previous water damage. I attempted calling Denise multiple times, left a voicemail, and texted her to discuss how we could come to some kind of resolution. Once again, instead of returning my call, she responded via email (Denise's email attached with subject line "Answer to you April 26, 2024 text"). Denise's email stated that WCG replaced our water line out of "courtesy" and that all trade work has a 30-day warranty. This was odd since I worked with WCG for a whole year and no work ever started without payment & a signed contract. The email on April 26th, 2024 was the last I ever heard from WCG. Today we have $47,000 worth of work needing done to put our house back to its normal state. Meanwhile, our baby is being exposed to mold. It's very important to note that the plumber WCG contracted filed a liability claim with their insurance. If everything was installed correctly, why was there an insurance liability claim? WCG offered a gift card in exchange for a review on BBB. I regret writing it. Their $41,000 of work completed held up for 7 months and ultimately caused $47,000 worth of damages. WCG, you caused more pain and stress to our family than you could ever imagine. At a time when we should have been enjoying our newborn baby, we were worried about our house being fixed. We simply want to share our experience to prevent others from making the same mistake we did: hiring WCG

I was stuck in a horrible position with the property management company I was working with and being out of state only made it worse. I searched for a contractor to help me get the properties fixed and rented out so I could finally make some income. I found a Val here on yelp and we began to communicate. Since the very beginning Val has been responsive, kind, understanding, knowledgeable, professional and attentive. He provided me with estimates for work that need to be done and we went forward. The properties were rehabbed thanks to Val and not only did it and there. Val went out of his way to meet with potential tenants to show them the properties during the day while he was working on other projects for other customers. He must've showed those properties to a couple dozen people and eventually he helped me decided on tenants. Val even helped me find a good lease agreement. Does it end there? Nope. Val continue to help me and get the lease agreement signed by the tenets. He mailed me lease agreements, first months rent and deposits through money orders in the mail. That's it's right? Again no. Doesn't end there. Soon after the property is rented out small issues came up with tenets mostly regarding the plumbing. Val was quick to show up to the properties and take care of the issues. Of course none of this was free, but was it worth what I paid. Absolutely. Now is this the end? No. After this experience with Val I have decided on one thing. I will continue to invest in properties in Indianapolis and I will only work with Val. He is a one stop shop and I know that working with him I will be OK. I contacted Val who immediately got back to me, did research on the property from the listing photos, and diagnosed the problem instantly. The next day, I got an estimate much less than another company's, and Val was continuously in contact with me at all times. We scheduled to do the gutter replacement about a week after the first conversation, and his crew arrived on time and got the work done without fuss. But here's the best part: not only did he look at the roof for me because I told him I was concerned about my inspection report's inadequacy, he surveyed almost everything on the exterior of my house. He identified roof issues, vent issues, pointed out rot, noted where things were installed cheaply, etc. He didn't pressure us into any work, he simply laid out the things my inspector should have caught, sent me pictures, and gave me advice for how and when to address some of the issues. He was honest in explaining much of this is on our dime. He was also frank in saying the inspector should give us the extent of the money laid out in the contract because he did such a poor job. He also was clear in that so long as I don't have stains on my ceiling, it wasn't an emergency, so I didn't feel pressured, I felt educated. I'm going to fix this house. I'm going to use Val to get it done. If I were you, I'd use him, too.
