Wonderful experience customizing a pair of snake boots. Great customer service, quality is excellent so I'll be back.

I went here to get my skates stitched into the sole because they were glued with plastic and asked if it could be done. They said yes and it would take 1 week. A week goes pass and they don't get back to me so I wait a few more days and 2 weeks go pass and I have to call and track them down. The number on google is someone cell phone who isn't the owner(?) and they had to give me the owners number to which the owner replied that they were sick and haven't worked on the skates at all. So then 1 week turns into 3 1/2 week. They have a policy if you don't pick up your item within a month they keep and/or sell your item. Upon pickup I try the skates and they weren't sewn together and completely fall apart upon single use while skating which is very dangerous. The 1 star is for inconsistent/lack of communication with me having to track down the owner and never getting back to me, inconsistent store timing that doesn't match google, Shoddy and shady service because I ultimately wasted money for a service that wasn't complete and potentially a hazard if I hurt myself worse due them not completing the task properly. I had a horrible experience with this boot shop. He ruined my $300 boots and never mentioned an inseam that he would put on them until he finished them. Also horrible communication and customer service. Took a month for them to get finished. He's a pea brain that's for sure read more

I ordered a pair of custom fitted boots from Joe, nothing fancy. I was told it would take 6 months. That was almost a year ago and I still don't have my boots. I can't get anyone at this business to communicate with me, so I requested a refund of my deposit. Crickets! I do not recommend this business. We have taken in 5 pair of boots over the past two years... and super pleased with the quality of the work on all pairs... One pair they took the Lucchese that were a size 9 and had them cut down to a size 6 for my wife...they were special boots for the Spurs and won at an auction...you cannot tell whatsoever that was done...super job and lots of compliments. Two other pair we took from being Cowboy boot cut to roper style and PERFECT. The other two were conditioned and some minor work. All work was perfect and super super happy. Trust me you will wait for a little bit but well worth the wait ...Totally recommend them. The family operation is just superb!! read more

Good work takes time and a bench that is always full is a sign of good word of mouth. I had a pair of Frye boots that needed new soles and my goodness, the boots were returned to me in better state than when new. Trust this cobbler as they are a trade seemingly to soonly disappear. read more

First time trying this shop it was highly recommend by a relative. I was given a pair of Lucchese boots which i thought were lizard boots but when i went in he told me it was ostrich leg. So i thought it just needed some heels but after he checked it out he explained what was wrong and gave me options. I went with his choice and had a complete resole and heels. He also polished it and and reinforced the heel back part (don't know what it's called) It took a little a longer than i thought it would but everytime i called he explained the situation and told when they would be ready. Fantastic service. I came in with a relatively new pair of boots that the original maker wanted to resole completely for $350. I have only worn the boots five or six times. A&C was able to take my boot right back and stitch the sole up where it was coming apart, and give me great care advice for my boots. I didn't even know they were goat leather! I'm definitely planning to go back if I need service for my boots now, but I'm definitely interested in getting a custom pair. Great service! read more

Only reason they get one star is because zero stars not possible. Do not take your boots to them. They lost a $500.00 pair of boots I took there for repair. They have absolutely no system to notify customers when their boots are ready to be picked up. They do not answer the phone and rarely respond to texts. They lost the boots and will not reimburse me for them as they said they are not responsible for anything after 30 days even when repair takes much longer than 30 days. They have no customer service skills. Worst experience ever. They do not even care that I am out a pair of $500.00 boots due to their negligence and lack of understanding on how to to run a business. I definitely did not pick up the boots l left with you. Your business is pathetic to try and blame your mistakes on a customer. read more

If I could review with no stars I would. They had boots for simple resole. They weren't ready till April. There was only one response to our inquiry with mo follow up to our inquiries. Went to the store today. It took them 10-15 minutes to find the boots. They were ready but they admitted they put the wrong sole on the boots and had applied a cover at no extra cost! Under no circumstances will we return. We strongly support local businesses but felt I had to post a negative review. read more

If you're going to post your hours as being open, be open. I came across town for a locked door and a teenager with an awful attitude and no customer service skills what so ever. I left before there could be anything done with my boots. I'm not going to return just for the same thing to happen again. Please get your business in order. Update: a woman called from the business. Repairs were reasonable with some notable failures. Nails we left sticking out of the interior of the boot which pricked me as I wore. Insoles were not properly replaced with original. We returned to get the insoles and I was give. Some generic foam shoe insoles. When back a third time and they took a bit to find the original leather insoles. Female business owner was very apologetic and kind. Unfortunately, I won't be returning. read more

I took a pair of boots in for repair. I paid $50 up front $60 when ready. Was told 3-6 weeks. They would call when ready. I Called after 4 weeks to see what the status was. Owners wife said she would call me back. She did not. I stopped by to see what was up. The owner could not find my boots. I helped in the search. They were not there. They took my information again and said they would call me once the owner talks to his wife. They have not called back. So no I guess I have lost my pair of Red Wing Work boots and the $50. I expect them to be upfront if they lost the boots or gave them out by mistake. And I do expect the return of my $50. Update second trip to shop second search with no boots. They did refund my deposit and will keep looking. Should have just sent them to the Red Wing Factory for a rebuild. Same cost. read more

A&C boot repair should be called the "Shoe Doctor!" Lol I have shoes that cost a pretty penny and I love the style & can't find them anymore & they're hard to get rid of! Well A&C boot repair is always on point whether I brought in heels, sandals, or just a shoe shine for my husband's shoes. They have replaced insoles, heels and used other techniques to bring them back to life beautifully! I even had a brand new pair never worn where the heel was chewed up by my friend's dog and Joe just got creative and made me a whole new heel. Great work and great service! I was only in town for the holidays and the zipper of my new boots was rubbing my heels raw. Initially they were going to take a week to fix, but when I told them I was from out of town they told me they would rush to get them done same day! They sewed a piece of leather behind the zipper so that it wouldn't rub my ankles. They also stretched the calf out a bit to make them more comfortable. Very satisfied customer! read more

Really bad service and very high prices. I took my sons boots to get repaired and the owner of the store waited on me and said my boots will be really in a week, and as I was leaving told me to call and give him a reminder before I pick them up. So a week passed and I called him and he had no clue who is was and couldn't ever find me under the receipt number that he gave me and asked me to call him back 2moro so I did and finally he found the boots. I picked them up and paid the $95.00 and he ONLY TAKES CASH. The boot were 2 different colors cause he had ran out of polish. read more

Worst shoe and boot repair place ever. Took a few pairs to them around November 5th. They said they could only do 2 at a time. Left a pair of heels and a pair of boots for repair. They said they would be ready the next week. Gave them extra time and went back the week of Thanksgiving. They said the shoes were not ready bc they were busy and had a wedding they were planning for but they promised they would be ready the week after Thanksgiving. I gave them extra time again and didn't go back until December 11. They could not find my shoes, asked if I would come to the back to look for them myself (so unprofessional). I found my boots in a bin not repaired. Found my heels hanging on the side of a rack also not repaired. I had already paid so I decided to give them another chance. They said they would be ready the next day. Again gave them extra time and went back today, Dec 17. I walked in and the gentleman couldn't find them again. He eventually found them, still not repaired. He recapped the heels and fixed the wear and tear on the heels. He did the same to the boots. This took him only about 10 minutes at the most. He brought the boots back, when I said I was not satisfied because they still did not look right, he was upset. He said what did I expect. I said I expected the repair they told me they could do. They said for the fourth time since I started with them that this is not what they do, they do custom boots. I replied with the name of the business is A &C custom boots and repair and if they didn't have time to repair they shouldn't have taken the job. He said then you don't have to pay me, I told him I already had paid and he handed me $20 and told me I should go somewhere else. Clearly I should. I do not recommend this place at all. They were able to stretch my 40 y/o boots so I could actually now enjoy wearing them! They treat you like family - even invited me behind the counter to view the boot making operation. Prices are reasonable - just be willing to give them plenty of repair time since they are essentially a three person boot/shoe operation. I give it a 5 star because all the business I have given to this great hard working people not once have I gotten unsatisfactory results. I have read all your reviews and it's hard to find unsatisfied customers. Especially one's that forget this people are there to give 100% and then some more. The 15 years I known this good hearted loving people they are there to give satisfactory work. If at all possible, avoid this shop. They seem to have communication issues (several phone calls about actual readiness of boots unanswered, another just left hanging for over 10 minutes until nothing, not sure who is in charge here). Promised finish dates, one after another, unkept, and when deciding to just take non-repaired boots elsewhere a week after initial ready date and just call it even and 3 weeks wasted time, initial half down payment refund was refused. They may have the ability to do good work, but getting it done and according to customer instructions is questionable. Leather soles were stitched through the sole on boots initially and requested as such in repair, final product had soles merely glued on. This place has the potential, but it seriously needs to concentrate on customer service and honest information about work that can and is done. Also, regular stated hours seem to be a suggestion, don't drive for miles and expect someone to be there. read more

I would avoid this place at the risk of losing your money. We brought an item for repair and paid a deposit of 150.00. Two to three months later they called and said it was ready. I had my husband pick it up and he did not know that the work was not complete or finished in a professional manner. So he paid the additional $100.00. I was extremely disappointed and called them. They said to bring it back. No way, but I am out months and 250.00 for basically nothing. My rating would be 0 stars read more
