I did not know that you can NOT clean your leather boots with a lightly wet towel! I was so upset when I saw some discoloration and thought they were ruined. I immediately went back to Freebird, where I purchased them, and they attempted to fix them , but failed. The employee suggested Texas Shoe Repair, so off I went. When I arrived, they had a steady flow of customers.... a good sign. The employee said he would look at it and see what he could do, gave me an estimate, and noted when it would be ready for pick up. I was happy and relieved when I picked them up, they look like brand new! He said there was no need to add color, he simply used a cream pictured below in neutral. It did wonders. He also stated not to use a brush, but that this cream would be able to clean up the shoe when dirty. Great friendly service and very reasonable prices! Highly recommend. read more

I have taken boots here to get stretched before and they came out fine but I took 2 pairs of designer shoes, 1 being straight out of the box and they got destroyed. The leather is completely torn up on the top and the foot bed of the shoe. The man told me it was residual from stretching and would wipe off but no the leather is literally bubbling and peeling. He knew they were ruined and just tried to gaslight me with no apology or remedy. Would be careful what you take here as I'm out $1200 read more

Let me tell you about my wonderful experience with Jose and Fernando at Texas Shoe Repair. I dropped off a pair of high heeled clogs by Michael Kors for broken heel caps. I dropped them off Saturday and was informed they'd be ready Friday and was quoted $18 pay upon pickup. Then on Tuesday I took in my purse for a latch that had come off suddenly the night before. I was told I could pick up Friday with my shoes. I read previous reviews that stated they only accept cash as payment when you drop off. I brought cash to pay to pick up my items but was advised that they do accept all forms of payment including checks if need be. I walked in earlier wanting to get my shoes resoled and looked through the catalog for a specific sole that I wanted. I must have been there about 20min or so. I had to run to an appointment and let them know I would come back. I showed back up and one guy that doesn't speak English met me at the front and I let him know I was back to figure out which sole I needed. I asked to look at the catalog again and he literally looked at me and said, "you want to look at the catalog again for an hour" or "do you know what you want" in Spanish of course. Needless to say I left and will never be back. That is by far the rudest someone has ever been. How the heck am I even supposed to tell him what I want if I can't even look at the catalog. Jose is the kindest, sweetest man! Two of the nails fell off of my platform wedge and he fixed it to perfection immediately! He took it right behind his shop and did it right then and there. Jose did a spectacular job on my Bally dress loafers. I brought them in needing a heel replacement on one shoe. He noticed deficiencies in other areas of both shoes and made recommendations. Invasive surgery on this older shoe model that's not available anywhere made me nervous, but when I picked up the shoes I was blown away! They looked refurbished and better than before. I needed two pairs of leather sole Frye boots resoled. When I picked them up, they replaced the soles with non skid bottoms. It will cost me double to get the boots back to the original soles intended. Didn't even have the decency to wipe the shoes down. On top of that, when I gave the manager the claim ticket, he just stared at me and still asked me if I needed help. I honestly think I would have gotten better service if I had walked in with a man.
