I genuinely have nothing but good things to say about that aspect of the business. Unfortunately, that changed when I received notice of a meaningful rent increase on my storage unit. After comparing prices, I found at least five same sized and air-conditioned storage facilities within a few miles (3-10 miles) offering the same size unit for more than half the cost. Wanting to remain a customer, I called to discuss the increase and see if there was any flexibility or willingness accommodate an already paying customer. That conversation was very disappointing. Rather than showing any interest in retaining my business, the manager seemed focused solely on enforcing the increase. The tone of the conversation felt dismissive and unprofessional, especially considering I was simply trying to understand my options as an established customer. What makes the situation even more frustrating is that since that conversation, I've learned of multiple instances where customers are paying dramatically different rates for the same size units. One neighbor received a quote within that same week nearly $70+ less per month than what I am currently paying, and two other residents in our community shared similar experiences with steep increases. That creates the impression that loyal customers are being penalized while newer customers are being offered substantially better pricing. I understand that businesses need to adjust pricing over time. However, when comparable facilities in the area are charging significantly less, and when existing customers are treated as expendable rather than valued, it becomes difficult to justify staying. Especially for a facility that has plenty of available units (they're at ~50% capacity), customer retention would seem to be a priority. Sadly, that was not the case here. And for those reasons, I would not recommend choosing this facility solely because of its convenient location in Babcock Ranch.
