This is an area we are unfamiliar with and let alone we ended up pulling into this sketchy area as it was the closest off the freeway. It was so scary and we had to abandon our vehicle due to not being able to get roadside service right away. My family and I had to leave our vehicle behind an alley and run to find a safe place to find a tow company. I called a few places and they told them our situation and they were quoting $600+ plus to tow and drive us back to the Valley. I ended up finding Hawks via Yelp and decided to give them a call. I ended up speaking with a nice individual and he quoted us half the price. They came to our rescue and had to bring a flatbed due to the type of vehicle we had. He drove us all the way from Lynwood to the Valley. After going through such a traumatic and sad incident with my Father the Owner of Hawks drove us to our house safely he was kind, compassionate, he kept my sons spirits up and made us feel at ease and just safe. I was so impressed by the excellent service I received. The street the truck had to be towed from was a two way busy street in Downey on Downey Ave. I didn't know how the truck was going to be able to get towed since the traffic in the evening there never stops and the position the truck was parked made it seem it would be difficult. AM PM Towing gets there and Richard helps us, it took him less than 10 minutes to get the truck onto his tow truck. I was so amazed by how fast he did evening. He was very kind and professional. He made it look so easy. I would definitely recommend them and it's worth having AAA because there was no out of pocket $$ from this tow. Thank you so much for your service.

My vehicle was involved in an accident, and…read morethe police department dispatched this company to tow it -- I did not choose or hire them myself. Although my vehicle already had accident-related damage, I noticed significantly more damage after it was towed. My vehicle flip over and their way to turn it into its normal position was by dragging it across the street . I am aware there is a special equipment to flip a vehicle to its normal position. However this company didn't care about damaging the rest of my vehicle. As of now my vehicle was declared total damage ( accident related PLUS the severe damage from dragging it across the street) My vehicle was a 2025 model. While it did sustain damage from the accident, I observed substantially more damage after it was towed. The damage resulting from how my vehicle was handled was extensive and appeared beyond repair. The entire side of the vehicle had its moldings broken and was scraped from bumper to bumper. Notably, this was not the side impacted in the accident. The damage was clearly distinct from the original collision. I have video evidence showing the drivers improperly handling my vehicle during the tow. The way my car was treated appeared careless and unprofessional. While they were towing it in my presence, we saw the driver struggling and next thing you know a second man showed up in personal car to assist( assuming it was the owner ) . my husband attempted to stop them . The driver dismissively told him to "let him do his job," rather than communicating respectfully or reassuring us. When I went to their office to address the additional damage, the receptionist. was rude and dismissive. Instead of showing concern or offering assistance, she told me to "just go ahead and dispute it with my insurance and that she has to leave already , than she preceded to walk into her cubicle office and literally let me standing . That response demonstrated a clear lack of accountability. I also submitted a formal written letter outlining my concerns. It has now been five months, and I have yet to receive any response. The lack of communication and follow-up speaks volumes. Since this company is partnered with the police department and was dispatched through them, I expected professionalism and responsibility. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. This Tow company is very careless . Not mention their fees was over $500 for one night . When I suggested the driver to tow the vehicle to my home and he mentions it would be cheaper to the towing yard . I strongly recommend documenting your vehicle thoroughly before and after any tow. Based on my experience, I would NEVER trust them with my vehicles again .

I've had to be towed about 5 times in my life. Usually, you call for a tow truck, they say "we will be there in 45 minutes", but they show up hours later. Fernando with A&F showed up almost immediately, I was told it would be about an hour, then all of a sudden here comes Fermando to the rescue. not even 20 minutes. most truck drivers are in a hurry and complain about the cars being &$@" and not slowing down. Fernando was happy, he made his job look easy and most importantly his attitude almost made me forget that I was being towed, It felt more like I was at work with my big brother. 3 weeks ago I bought a 2014 Subaru CrossTrek. I got a flat comming off the freeway yesterday. I called Subaru Roadside Service and waited 3.5 hours YES +3 hours for a tow. Do you believe it? Manufacturers now a days are making cars with no spare!!! Anyway the important thing I called the experts at AAA and they sent Mike from A&F Towing in less than 10 minutes! I love Mike. A great guy! Road raging drivers that are obviously not very professional. Just had one of their drivers try and block me from merging in front of him and then attempted to run me out of my lane when I let him pass to get him on camera! Incident was 6/4/25 at roughly 7:45 pm on south street merging onto the 605 north and he proceed onto the 91 east if anyone cares to look into the matter and maybe take this reckless driver out from behind the wheel. read more

I locked my keys in my car and they came to my rescue. The driver was so nice I wish I could remember his name. I mentioned I was going to East La after they rescued my keys and he told me there was an accident on the freeway and to take the streets to catch another freeway so I would avoid the traffic, he really helped me out I even made it to class on time. AVOID this tire shop! A bunch of Liars and Scammers!…read more I had an extremely disappointing experience with Artesia Towing and Tires and cannot recommend this shop based on what happened to me. On the evening of July 13, 2026, I got a flat tire while driving on the 605 Freeway. I called the shop around 7:50 PM simply to ask if they were still open and whether they could replace my flat tire. During that phone call, I never requested a specific tire size or discussed tire dimensions. I was only confirming that they could help me. Before I could make it to the shop, my tire went completely flat, and I had to pull over and call AAA to install my spare tire. After AAA finished, I called the shop a second time to let them know I had been delayed and was on my way. Again, there was no discussion about tire sizes or specifications. When I arrived, an employee removed my damaged tire, quoted me $160, and installed a replacement tire. At no point before, during, or after the installation did anyone tell me that my correct tire size was unavailable, that they intended to install a different size tire, or ask for my permission to do so. My original tire, which they removed from my vehicle, clearly displayed the correct tire size. (At this point I didn't notice the wrong size tire.) After the work was completed, I was told they did not accept credit or debit cards and that I had to pay through Zelle.... I paid the full $160, but I was not given any receipt or invoice showing what tire had been installed or what work had been performed other than my digital Zelle receipt. The next morning, while checking my tire pressures because my dashboard warning light came on, I discovered that the shop had installed a 235/45R18 tire on my vehicle. Every other tire on my car--including the original tire they removed--is 235/40R18 91W, which is the correct size for my vehicle. THEY INSTALLED THE WRONG SIZE!!! I immediately called the shop. During that conversation, I was initially told that "I had called ahead and specifically requested that tire size". That is COMPLETELY FALSE. I never requested any tire size during either phone call. A short time later, I received another call from the shop after the employee spoke with the installer. This time I was given a completely DIFFERENT explanation. I was told that my correct tire size wasn't in stock, so the installer knowingly installed a different size "just to help me out." This was the FIRST time anyone told me that the correct tire wasn't available. I was never informed beforehand and never given the opportunity to approve or decline a substitute tire. To resolve the issue, I was then told that they would order the correct tire--but I would have to pay an additional $40 because I had already driven on the incorrectly sized tire they installed. Afterward, I reached out to both the employee and the owner, Manuel, by text message. I politely explained what had happened, provided the correct tire specification (235/40R18 91W), requested a receipt, and asked if we could resolve the matter. I also summarized my understanding of our phone conversations and asked them to confirm whether it was accurate. NEITHER of the workers responded to my follow-up messages. Until a third party paralegal helped me with the situation and informed me that what they did was ILLEGAL as it constitutes consumer fraud!!!! I understand that mistakes can happen. But this wasn't a mistake! It was Intentional! All I wanted was the correct tire that I originally paid for. I hope this shop closes for good! I will be taking these crooks to small claims court and contacting AAA since they are associated with them.
