She was the listing agent for a house that I purchased. I have owned the house for almost 2 weeks and she has not removed the lockbox from my house and my house is still listed as pending on zillow. My realtor set aside some items that I wanted to keep that were in the garage. She was supposed to throw everything else away. She kept or trashed the keep pile and didn't throw anything away. Dont expect anything from this property management if you rent from them. They will not come inspect your complaints or items needing fixing, they do not do yearly walkthroughs like they state, they don't follow up on anything, and they will lie about the condition you left your house in if you don't have pictures to prove it. They are the absolute worst. Homeoweners, you should take note as well.. THEY DO NOT MAINTAIN PROPERTIES! They expect the tenant to provide upkeep and then take the whole security deposit when it's all said and done. Oh, that brings me to their "handyman". He charged us for things like candy and sodas and many other supplies he should have on hand if he is a handyman like he claims. He also stayed in our old rental for a couple of weeks (we just moved down the street) and I highly doubt the property manager knows that. It was weird. As a tenant, I have found that A&L has been easy to work with. When we were desperately looking for a place to live, they found us several places to choose from. Steve patiently showed me each property and found us a good fit for our family. Over the past five years, we have lived in one of these properties and the management has been so great. Every time we had a repair or issue, there was someone out within a day. They were gracious and kind to us, always knowing our names. Rent was fairly priced and was only raised once in five years. I'm grateful for their kindness and hard work to help people have a good place to live. I feel so fortunate to have worked with these guys for the past five years. You can trust them. read more

absolutely horrible management i lived here for 3 years and there was always problems, my downstairs neighbor was a meth head who had people crawling in through the front windows, i got assaulted twice, they did nothing about this they said it was their problem and to call the cops and never dealt with the problems. and the management never fixed anything unless you basically force them. they waited 6 months at minimum to fix anything and randomly after paying my rent on time for 3 years they gave me a 60 day notice to vacate they are extremely shady and i DONT RECOMMEND!!! the management is extremely unprofessional as well!!! and money hungry do not waste your time or energy here!! read more

DON'T THROW AWAY YOUR MONEY SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION WITH THIS TERRIBLE COMPANY! This has been the worst experience I have ever had with a property management company. We are selling our house and we are currently at the end of the escrow process. We need to be out of our house within a week and now because of A&L Property management we do not have a rental lined up. I spoke with Pat on the phone and she was very eager to show us a rental. She was even more eager to get us to submit an application which cost $60.00. My husband and I have very good credit, references, etc. However, we have heard excuse after excuse when they are asked whether or not we can rent this property-they are not giving us an answer and are simply wasting our time. Meanwhile they have been posting the same houses every day on Craigslist. THIS IS A SCAM! THEY ARE POSTING NICE AND VERY AFFORDABLE RENTALS OVER AND OVER AGAIN ONLINE IN ORDER TO COLLECT AS MANY APPLICATIONS (remember they charged us $60 for an application) AS THEY CAN. So now, after waiting and waiting and hearing excuse after excuse about the delay we have nowhere to go once our escrow is finalized. They have NOT even run or credit yet (I now this because I have up to date credit monitoring that alerts me every time I have a credit inquiry)! This is an absolute scam! I'm going to file a complaint with the BBB and anywhere else that I can. read more

They called and asked me to fill out a rental reference for my current tenant. My tenants are amazing and I was eager to give them a good reference. (The only reason they are moving after many years is because my husband and I are moving back into the house.). AL Management claimed to have emailed the form. I called several times to verify my email address. Each time they said they emailed it to me right away. But I never got it! Then, they didn't rent to my tenants because "they did not get a favorable response from me". WHAT? When I called them on it, they said that no response is the same as an unfavorable one. They said, "we had lots of applications and it is what it is." Total SCAM! read more

I had an all around pleasant experience with this company. My husband and I contacted them to ask about viewing a property, and as soon as they had a date scheduled, they informed us immediately. Although the viewing was done with another applicant due to the overwhelming demand to tour that property (the line was out the door and down the stairs by the time we came out), the lady who gave us the tour was very thorough and answered all of our questions. The application process was easy, and was handled professionally. Unfortunately, our application wasn't selected for the property. It has been the worst experience in a rental property management that I have ever dealt with. Starting in mid June, Steve was contacted to advise them that the property of interest, we wanted to rent, but just wanted to look inside to make sure everything was in good condition. He said he would set up a visit for Friday, June 24, with the current tenants and would call back. Never did he call back. A week later we called Steve, and he stated the renters weren't home. They were as I advised him. He then stated he would call them. He called me back and said they had COVID, but we could see it on Tuesday @ 2pm on July 5. We did see the house and said yes we would rent. He took our application and $60.00. Said all was good to go, just had a couple things left to do and would call us Monday July 11. No call. We purchased the washer dryer from the current renters. July 12, still no call. Locks were changed, and potential renters were given a tour of the house. I contacted the owner of the home to ask why Steve had not called us back. She did not answer or return our phone call or text, tried to call Steve's office and was advised he was out of office. Today, July 13, we finally got a call from Steve that our income was not sufficient. Between the two parties, the income is over $10,000 a month, and the rent is $2300. a month. How can that not be sufficient. This has been one of the most unprofessional businesses we have ever run across. They were happy to take our money for the credit check and administrative fees, but couldn't rent to us although everything was disclosed on our part. It took almost 4 weeks to get to this point, we are out $160. There are far better and professional companies out there. DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY if you expect results, fair and honest business dealings. read more

Absolutely the most unprofessional company I've ever dealt with. 2 weeks after paying the fee to apply for a rental, they hadn't even processed our application because they "lost it". They were very terrible at returning phone calls, and were curt when they did. Then, after we applied for a 2nd property with them, they never even notified us they chose someone else. Seriously, if you're looking to rent in the Cameron Park area, use ANY OTHER property management company. I can't speak for other people on here and their experiences but I have to be honest and say that they have been nothing but nice, professional and quick with this entire process. Approved our application in 3 days and moving in 2 weeks from now. I was worried about these other reviews but this just proves you should never judge anyone and always give them the benefit of the doubt. The one star is just because they answer the phone. However this is the worst management service my family and I have ever dealt with. Our washer machine broke two weeks ago and we called the day of to see when they could get someone to come out and fix it and they seemed helpful and said they would get the repair man to come take a look. That was on Tuesday and after not hearing from anyone all week we called back on Friday and told them again. They said since it was the weekend they couldn't help us again until Monday..... hence why we called on Tuesday , way before the weekend . Still no call all week when finally we got the direct number for the service repair man and he told us he would come over and check it out the next day. Not an honest company. This is from a property owner standpoint. My elderly father had a property in CA being managed by this company. In December 2016, I traveled to CA to check on the recently vacated(two or three months prior) property and found it in terrible condition. We are still trying to get our property file from this company and Steve Lyons has nothing but excuses for us. We first requested the file in April 2017 when we finally sold the property after being under A & L Property Managements care since 2009. We are out of state, so I have even traveled back to CA to try to get a copy of the file, but of course, they are full of excuses. Dont choose this company if you own a home and want it well maintained. Avoid this company if possible if you are a renter. They just really dont deserve your business. read more

This company is the worst in the industry and I do not take writing reviews lightly as it's a permanent negative record and this is my first review. I do this review to help people in the future make a wise decision. I was renting this home before this company took over the management. Two years I've been begging for them to fix the leaking sink! They sent out 2 different people who where suppose to come back to fix it and never did. I begged, I pleaded FACE TO FACE and in written emails. I had my toilet backing up into the bathtub 4 times with a year and a half. Finally, I told the owner of the home as it was the same time as the kitchen sink issue. I got a phone call only after the owner called him and THEN it took 6 months to get them to fix it. I'm still waiting for the faucet to be replaced in the kitchen and went there again today. I even bought the faucet! DO NOT pick this company. Most renters do not care about the home they live in and are the ones who do the damage. This property manager IS the responsible party for the damage done to this home. They never follow through with phone calls or emails. Pay the extra 1% to have a reputable company manage your rental homes. read more

I heard from a friend about this place. She told me they had an apartment available. I called and left a message right away. They didn't call back, so I called back the next day, And spoke with Ken. He was absolutely rude on the phone. For no apparent reason. I asked him if he had any available apartments and he rudely said no. I replied oh okay, and then he hung up. The fact I had no return call and he basically hung up on me is rude customer service. My friend was with me also and heard him on the phone and asked what his problem was. I was going to call back and have a conversation with this older man, about how costumer service works, but I decided to write a review. I recieved call backs from cameron oaks, quail ridge, glen view, cameron park village, and a view other apartments and they were all very very sweet. but I can't get a call back from this place, and get mistreated for no reason. I understand you have no available apartments for rent but be a little happier. I will never rent from A&L and I will pass this on to my friends and family. read more

These people are thieves I lived in a rental of theirs for 5 yrs and left it in better shape than when I moved in, I got a 60 days notice to move and was never late even one day on rent, they wouldn't give me any extra to find a place and then after I left 6 days early after I gave them a 10 day notice I would be leaving early they are trying to keep my 2500 deposit. Bottom line with this place is do not use them they are crooks and lie like crazy and they do not keep your best interests in mind at all as a renter I would have to say they pretty much are slum lords and I will pursue them to the fullest extent of the law. read more

After being jerked around for five days my potential roommates and I where told that we didn't qualify which would be fine except we could have been told this immediately instead of putting our rental search on hold waiting for an answer. To top it off this off Steve Lyon proceeded to sarcastically talk down to us saying "Good luck getting approved anywhere." I have rented many places in Cameron Park, (been in the area for over 20 yrs.) I have always gotten my deposit back or at least most of it. This company refuses to give us back our deposit of $2350 after renting there for 2 1/2 yrs. They were really bad about taking care of things. We bought our own door knobs/faucet for kitchen sink after giving them many calls and no call backs. They used the owner of the house as an excuse as to other repairs they wouldn't take care of. Example, back porch deck (12 ft high) needed reimbursing on 2 of the standing legs. Their lucky it didn't fall down while we were on it. Major law suit right there. We were given a 60 day as per owner is going to sell the house now. They claim that the owner fired them, as he should have!!!! But now were at a loss from not getting our deposit back. These people are rude and very unprofessional. As you can see from other reviews. DO NOT RENT OR USE THIS COMPANY FOR RENTAL PURPOSES. TOTAL CROOKS!!! They need to be put out of business!!! This is the worst company ive ever experience. We went from dealing with the property owner and this place took over after 2 years of being in the place. They dont know when we pay rent or how much we pay, they refuse to give us a rental agreement, they told me i havent paid rent in 3 months which i have writen out reciepts of. My oven and dishwasher which are under a sears warrenty 100%covered have been broken for almost a year now and ive sent in 3 letter, emailed, amd spoke to them about getting them fixed, and still to this day are broken! Steve is a complete jerk has harrased my waife multiple time which i had to come home from work cause she was crying and so upset, and the women who works there came out to our house and was smoking as she harrassed my wife holding a 10 month old baby WTF? This place is the biggest POS ive ever had stand clear of this places properties. Do not ever ever ever use this company the people in the office are very rude and do not do there job. Me and my boyfriend put in an application and for the next week we were told that they where trying to get in contact of the owner of the house but where having problems and could not make a desicion. We continued to call over the week and where told the same thing but that by wednesday they will know one way or another or give us our application fee back. By friday morning my boyfriend called and was told that the property had been rented as of thursday. He was obviously furrious since they had blown us of and not given us the time of day. I called after he told me that news and asked to speak to the manager. They took the message and she called me right back. I started telling her the story and she cut me off very rudely and started telling me about how many applications they had and so on. I do not want your sob story you dumb lady, I want to tell you that you and your staff are not doing there job. So I asked her can I finish my story and she said no I don't understand what you want from me we had a lot of applications and so on. I started to talk again but again she started to talk over me so at that point I raised my voice and she continued to talk about the applications. Then I said well I will never use your company again because you are all very rude and cannot do your job. She said to me well took the appropriate actions and made the decision this morning. I said wait nooo my boyfriend was told that it was rented out as of Thursday. She said well he must have gotten mixed up, and then she actually had the nerve to argue on the phone with me and then said well I can't help you have a great day. I said ya whatever you bitch!
