What? How can the new location not have a review yet?! Brian and Kelly had been such a pleasure to work with. Weddings can be stressful to plan but Distinctive Floral Designs gave us one less stressor. Making an appointment is easy and they are very responsive with emails (which is my preferred method of communication due to the nature of my job). I had wanted "romantic" and "blush pink vintage" with the flowers and that is what I got. I am a super indecisive person and Kelly had been nothing but patient. She really helped to develop my vision into a reality by giving suggestions and her opinions when needed. Plus they did an awesome job decorating our wedding cake to exactly the way I had wanted it. Everything from the bouquets, boutonnieres, and table centerpieces were delivered to their designated locations on time (phew!). Their prices are very reasonable in my opinion and in fact, was below my budget. The only thing is that when I received my bridal bouquet, quite a few of the dark pink flowers were smushed, perhaps due to transport? Perhaps those flowers are more delicate and the bouquet is too full? I have no idea but I'm sure no one noticed it except myself. The staff was very sensitive to my needs for wanting something nice... not sad. I always find it crazy how unorganized florist desktops are. I have used Glendale Florist for many years now, whether it be for funeral arrangements or sending flowers to someone for their birthday. Their arrangements are extremely beautiful, however their customer service (or lack there of) leaves a lot to be desired. I placed an order on their website on a Sunday evening for flowers to be sent on a Wednesday for a 30th birthday surprise. I added in a mylar balloon to go along with the arrangement. This arrangement was to be delivered to the recipients place of employment on her actual birthday, which was Wednesday. Sounds easy enough right? Well not really... The arrangement was delivered on Monday, 2 days before her actual birthday, thus ruining the surprise of receiving flowers at work on her actual birthday. Also left out was the balloon. I called Glendale Florist to ask what had happened and I could not have spoken to anyone ruder than the woman whom answered the phone. First, she attempted to minimize the issue telling me that it was "human error" and "I don't really know what answer you are looking for". I then said I wanted the balloon to be credited since it was not delivered to which she responded "ok, so you want $3 credited???" Actually, it was $5 and yes, I do want it credited. I then proceeded to say that I paid a lot for these flowers and for them to not be delivered on the person's birthday when the order clearly stated the date was not acceptable. She then responded with "So, you paid $32.95????". Actually, it was $51. So basically she was trying to say "well, who cares, because you did not pay a lot". How unprofessional for a business to act to a customer. There was no accountability or responsibility accepted for this mistake. I was told they can send another arrangement on the correct date, but really what is the point? The recipient received the flowers already. I guess this business would rather be nasty and rude to the customers rather than accept responsibility for a mistake they made. All in all, this is extremely disappointing. This florist needs a re-training in customer service before they lose all their customers. read more

Very disappointed with the service pricing and all for a funeral arrangement I was looking for yesterday. I understand that everyone is in it for the business, I feel that flowers for a funeral should not break your bank. Their costs exceeded what I was looking to pay for a "cross floral arrangement" Who doesn't want to work with you in a time of a funeral? I said I had an X amount i was spending so I asked if they can remove the roses from the arrangement to fit my budget, was told NO SORRY WE CAN'T MAKE A CROSS LOWER THAN $150.00, so if you take out the 10 roses what would that cost? Sorry can't do it. Oh and then when I said i have no choice, okay, $150.00, delivery fee $10 was added, plus tax, totaling $180.00!!! (Why charge a delivery charge when you are already delivering 10 arrangements to the same funeral, sorry we must do this). Well goodbye!!! Just to let you know Glendale florist owner, we found a friendly local affordable florist in Ridgewood called Mary's Florist, was able to get the same cross with custom banners same size (fuller) for $100.00 with tax and delivery! A HUGE Thank U to Laura at Glendale Florist! I placed an online order to be delivered to Seneca Chapel today and somehow there was a mix up somewhere down the line and my basket did not make it to the Chapel. BUT Laura came to the rescue. I lost count of the number of times I had to go back and forth calling both places and not once did Laura appeared bothered or dismissive. Instead she was so kind and reassuring me that she would take care of it. At a time when my dear friend lost her mother and emotions were on a Rollercoaster, it was a breath of fresh air to have someone on the other end of the line who was so kind, professional and most of all had empathy. This is, by far, the most unprofessional business I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. I ordered a floral arrangement from the website, the same website listed on this Yelp page on 7/25/2016 (http://www.glendaleflorist.net/) for flowers to be delivered on 8/1/2016 for a friend's birthday. I received an e-mail confirmation, my credit card was charged, and I continued about my life, believing the flowers would be delivered on 8/1/2016, and if there were any issues, I would be notified. 8/1/2016 arrives, and I received no communication from the business regarding an issue in processing/delivery of my order. I had provided cell phone numbers for myself and the recipient in the event of any issue. I spoke with the intended recipient at around 11 PM only to find that nothing had arrived. I quickly wrote an e-mail to Brian whose contact information is listed on the site, stating exactly what had happened and asking for an immediate refund. No response. I have called repeatedly for the past two days, and the phone merely rings and finally states that voicemail has not been activated. Business hours are listed as 8 AM - 7 PM. Needless to say, I am livid. Who runs a business like this? Completely, utterly unprofessional. I have disputed the charges with my credit card company as I cannot get in contact with the merchant though I have repeatedly tried to. Avoid at all costs I implore! I will also be filing a complaint against this business with other agencies. read more

Recently, I had to order flowers for the funeral service of a dear friend's mother. Since I do not live in the area, I took the recommendation of the funeral home's website to order flowers. I was glad I did. Laura from the florist answered my call, was very nice, and suggested that for the price I was willing to spend, she would make up a nice arrangement. The following day I attended the wake, and was VERY pleased to see the arrangement. It was beautiful and very fresh. The funeral service was on March 13th, my friend told me yesterday ( March 25th), that the flowers were STILL alive and looking good. I placed an order for a funeral arrangement for my best friends deceased husband. I was promised it would arrive at the funeral home at 12 noon for the 2:00 viewing. It didn't arrive until 4:30 so visitors at the first viewing did not see the flowers. I was very disappointed as the man I spoke with emphatically told me they would be there. Unfortunately, due to the passing of my mom, we received numerous floral & plant arrangements from Glendale Florist. My mom loves Hydrangeas and although the spray design we chose didn't have any hydrangeas, they managed to find several white Hydrangeas that they incorporated into the arrangement. We received a huge floral arrangement, with calla lilies, roses (LG & small), and with so many beautiful exotic flowers that we decided to take it home rather than having them dumped at the cemetery, We disposed of the arrangement 2 1/2 wks after the burial. Just want to thank the young lady, whose name I didnt get, who took my order for a funeral arrangement for my aunt on 11/ 6/18... she was so kind, gentle, sweet, and understanding amidst what sounded like a very busy environment...as I placed my order over the phone, sight unseen. I asked if the standing heart shaped arrangement that was blue and white (on the website) could be made with pink flowers...she said " certainly "... I then asked if perhaps she could include some darker pink flowers, n again she agreed... well, I knew that what I wanted was not pictured in this particular arrangement but, I got EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED/PICTURED in my head!!! No white flowers and so many gorgeous, vibrant shades of magenta, fuchsia,....I was SO PLEASANTLY STUNNED & GRATEFUL...its like she was in my head (lol)!!!... We recently had a death in our family. The funeral home listed Glendale Florist on their website, so I called them for an arrangement to be delivered to the funeral home and told them what time to deliver it for the viewing. The viewing was at 2:00. At 1:20 the flowers were not there, so I called the florist and they assured me that they would be there by 2:00. My sister in law also ordered flowers from them and at 1:45 asked me where the flowers were. I told her I had called and they told me they would be delivered by 2. Also, the funeral director of the funeral home told me not to worry that the flowers would be delivered by 2. Needless to say, at 2:00 people started coming to pay their respects and the flowers were still not there. They were finally delivered after 2:00 in the midst of people paying respects to our loved one. I will never use this florist again. How unprofessional to deliver flowers to a viewing while people are paying their respects to the deceased. These flowers should have been delivered well before that and this florist should have had the experience and courtesy to have done so. I would never use them again or recommend them to anyone in that area. They were very disrespectful at a very difficult time in one's life read more
