I had a very strange experience with A & R, Steve Erdodi Tuff Coat Sealcoating by Erdodi Maintenance. I booked seal coating and after numerous rain delays was scheduled for Mon morning at 8:30 a.m. or first job. I rec an email stating this: "All vehicles need to be off the driveway by 8:30 am. We may not be there at 8:30 am as we do numerous jobs per day." I went outside at 7:00 to walk my dog & they pulled up in the street. I yelled to them that they said 8:30 or later & that I still had to get my car out of the garage. I thought they yelled back, "No problem". Then they turned the truck around and left! (If I hadn't been outside @ 7:00 am & they did the job, my car would have been stuck in the garage for 2 days!) When they didn't return, I called their office & spoke to Lisa 3x that day. She said that she would call me back as soon as she heard from the guys. No return call that day. I emailed. No response. The next day when I still hadn't heard back, I called & left a msg. No response. I realize that I had been ghosted by this company. Initially, I had been impressed by Steve & Lisa's timely responses to my questions by phone & email. Based on that, I hired them. Truly, I am bewildered by this lack of response & now realize that I may have dodged a bullet. If no response is their response to a scheduling misunderstanding, I can't imagine if there had been a problem after job completion??!! It's simply puzzling why they think this is a good business practice. read more

I called them and they said they would give me an estimate. days went by I called them again and they said they would send an estimate. Called them again and they quoted me a price on the phone which was almost 4 times more than another quote I had gotten. They never sent me an email estimate like they said they would. I don't Understand why these people are even in business. If you don't wanna do the job, just say that. Avoid this company at all costs! read more

Came out, "completed a premium seal" of driveway. They missed some spots which, for what they charged, should NOT have been an issue. Tried multiple times to have them come back out and make good and they eventually ghosted me. Who else should you hire to do a sealcoat of your driveway? Anybody! read more

A & R Sealcoating is the best! My driveway was looking so bad that I thought I would have to completely renovate my asphalt driveway, an expensive job since I have a circular driveway plus a straight lane to the garage. I called A & R Sealcoating, and for a very reasonable price they came out, burned the grass and moss out of the cracks, thoroughly sealed the cracks, and then beautifully sealcoated the driveway. After the job they did, I expect the driveway to last for years longer. There are plenty of people these days who over-promise, and under-deliver, but not A & R. Prompt quotation and resealed my driveway within a month of my call. Their crew did a nice job, edging, digging out the driveway driveway where it meets the road, sealing a multitude of cracks and neatly sealing it, all in just a few hours. Still haven't heard back from Copeland Paving with a quote after about six weeks, oh well. read more

Sealed my driveway, excellent work. A&R filled the cracks and spot cleaned any oily areas in my asphalt driveway and sealed. One rain cloud worked its way over my house about an hour after they sealed. The trucks pulled up in front of my house after the rain, squeegeed the water off the drive and resealed without me even asking. I will use them again. The price was $250 for a driveway with side entrance garage. Other bids came in at $325 and $775 for the same work. I consider this a high value job. read more

I wished I had contracted A & R to install my asphalt driveway in the beginning. The other contractor left me with growing holes, crumbling edges and a terrible appearance. A & R repaired the holes and edges, repaired the cracks, and seal coated the asphalt with a very dense sealer. It looks better than when it was new. read more

We had a new asphalt driveway put in back in May by Michigan All-Pro Asphalt and they did a horrible job, DON'T USE THEM, they wanted to charge us $450 to sealcoat the driveway. We'll after dealing with them we didn't want them to touch the driveway ever again. So we called A&R Sealcoat and they did a BEAUTIFUL job, the driveway finally looks new. Their crew takes a lot of pride and time on the work they did to our driveway, we are SO happy and plan on using them again next spring for another good coating. Great job and A&R quickly and effectively responded to a few issues regarding the job.

A & R was redoing the driveway at J. Alexander's in West Bloomfield. My co-worker and I were leaving after having lunch, While the workers had tape up in the parking lot the sidewalk was not marked off. As we walked the woman I was with stepped into a puddle of wet asphalt, started to slip, but luckily didn't fall. The workers who were sitting in the truck and golf cart started yelling at us and asking us why we wanted to step in the asphalt. We said we didn't see it and they kept yelling at us and harassing us. Never once asking if we were ok, I have never experienced such jerks in my life. I still can't believe how unprofessional and rude these men were. read more

The work was very poor quality. The crack filler did not adhere at all and was completely peeling off in spots. They sent men out to torch it without cleaning the driveway first and they missed several spots. Will not use them again. I paid $500 for a driveway that really needs to be done again correctly. read more

I am so disappointed with their service. Two weeks ago I scheduled to have my driveway seal coated. It was scheduled for yesterday and due to the weather it wasn't completed, FYI, there was no rain. I had to email to find out why they hadn't come. I received an email back stating I had been rescheduled to the next available date which was Nov 5th, but they couldn't guarantee due to the weather. Basically if the weather is bad or the forecast is bad you go to the bottom of their list and if the season ends you are just out of luck! I would not recommend A and R! read more
