I was 6 minutes late to a 10am appointment and after I gave my name and appointment time to the most disgustingly rude employee Maria, her response was 'YOUR LATE'. And then told she would have no idea when I could be seen -- Maria had no empathy or even asked how I was, I felt like less than a human at that point but more of an inconvenience. I ended up leaving, and honestly this was all for a state inspection. I will be complaining to the owner Saul -- don't be late to your appointment or you'll be talked to like dirt. I honestly can't talk to the work they do, but I can tell you I won't be back here ever again. read more

Sadly, the quality of this shop has deteriorated since I began bringing my cars here almost three years ago. They're charging higher rates on lower quality work. They have a revolving door of office staff and mechanics. The latest is my car needed an alternator. After charging me $450 everything seemed fine. The next day was unseasonably warm and I discovered my AC was blowing hot air. If it hadn't been for the warm weather, I wouldn't have taken it back until the following year and then would have been charged to "repair" my car's AC. Looks like I need a new mechanic. read more

Sal literally saved our lives tonight. We were on a road trip from Pittsburgh to Boston. We had been driving through snow all day and exhausted, then our windshield wiper (the entire thing) FLEW OFF with the wind. It was raining and we had no options. We rubber banded together the remaining windshield wiper and called Sal 5 minutes before he closed. He told us to come over and they fixed our wipers for us and were so nice. They were so compassionate and saved us on a difficult day when we were all out of options. He is amazing. High recommend this place. read more

My family and I have been using A&R Service Center for a few years now and couldn't be happier. No one enjoys taking their car to the mechanic, it's not a cheap or pleasant affair. Joe, the owner and mechanic is a stand up guy, honest and fair in price. He helped me almost monthly with my old hoopdee, and helped me rid myself of it instead of convincing me to sink more money into it. When shopping for a used car, he checked a few prospects out for me and made sure I wouldn't be sinking money into another jalopy. A&R is always fair in price, and do work promptly. The staff is very friendly and willing to help and explain procedures to the car illiterate like me. I couldn't recommend them enough. read more

If I could give them 0 zero stars, I would. Brought in my car and all it needed was 4 new tires and they overcharged the hell out of my family. They told me that the job was finished and I picked up my car and drove 500 feet, and every single light went on!! How do you give me my car back and the job is not COMPLETE??? then the mechanic says " I was taking a nap, how about you get your money back and you take it somewhere else?" Had a great experience with Paulie! I brought my vehicle to A and R auto center in Brewster, New York recently. Got 4 new tires and an air filter, amongst some other things. I met with Paulie who is the nephew of the owner. Such a sweet guy. After discussing the various issues with my vehicle, within 10 minutes, he was already showing me pictures of his fishing trip and recommending where I could get a good lunch in the village of Brewster. In addition to being my mechanic, he was also my friend. It's tough to find kind-hearted people like Paulie in the automotive industry. A mechanic you can trust is worth his weight in gold. The cost of services was within the realm of reason, and the speed of work was also reasonable. I would definitely recommend going to A and R auto center in Brewster, NY. This place will change your mind about used car dealers. First of all they have an excellent staff and inventory ( From BMW's to Hyundai's, coupes to trucks). The cars are clean and well maintained and they stand behind their warranty 100%. They bent over backwards trying to fix a problem I had and after numerous unsuccessful attempts (even bringing it in to Hyundai) and giving me a loaner car for 2 weeks, they offered an even trade to another car. I am very happy with the 'new' car and the professional, courteous service. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a quality used car. read more

The old A&R was great. They're now under new management...which is unorganized and unprofessional. After a misdiagnosis that cost me $700. I was charged for the re-repair and told that the original problem (oil pan leak) was not in fact the oil pan, but the radiator - and nobody caught that the first time? OH, and they "did me a favor" by doing a repair that they never bothered to call me to get an authorization, and CHARGED me for that but gave me a "break" so I was only indebted to them for another $200. I feel ripped off... oh and that favor left my car with a yet diagnosed groan under the hood. I've had the epitome of a nightmare experience. read more

I went to this business to complain about a vehicle that has been excessively revving the Engine and harassing and disturbing my quiet peace and enjoyment. I went in the shop and the mechanic named Jose followed me into the Office. asked him if the Owner was there he said no. The owner never seems to be there?. he said what do you need. I told him that an old Silver Car that has Dealer plates on it that you are well aware of has been revving it's engine at 7:30. 8:00 and 8:30 am, almost at the same time everyday. he said this s a repair shop. I stated that there are also residential Homes here that have a right to their quiet peace and enjoyment. and you have been allowing that to go on for 6 weeks now everyday and I can here it in my Home up the Road, not only that but you are polluting, the air unnecessarily. he got very rude and asked me to leave, he seemed to have some Racial aggression. I read another 1 star review from a girl named Heather and she stated he was very rude as well. I will be submitting a complaint on this Shop shortly. and I am also reporting this to the BBB. His Father should terminate him as he is giving his Fathers shop a bad reputation. f I could give 0 star I would. If you want professional Service and Respect do yourself a favor and stay away from that Awful run down shop. read more
