In addition, my husband and I had a little bit of an emergency situation on our hands due to an impending heat wave, and needed to figure out a solve for our problem quickly. (This I know, was our bad in not preparing better. We take full responsibility!) I put out a request on Yelp on a Wednesday afternoon to all listed handyperson services and emailed another 6 or so companies listed on Google. Most of companies I pinged did not respond at all, and the smattering that did said they were booked through October. Thank my lucky stars, though, Joe called me back within the hour and said he'd come by between 4:30 and 5pm to take a look-WHICH HE DID! Off to a good start and it just kept getting better! I walked him through the challenge at hand: we needed to install an air conditioner in our garage, but we only had one janky window to work with that didn't fit the most narrow window unit, a standup unit didn't cool the space, and we didn't really want to lose use of the window entirely. Joe jumped right in and suggested a quick, flexible, and affordable solution: build an insulated window box so we can easily install and remove the AC seasonally and maintain the insulation that we need during the colder months. Genius! Not only was his idea a good one that checked all boxes, he presented his ideas clearly, answered all my questions thoroughly, and didn't pander to my very unimpressive knowledge of construction in general. Joe sent me an estimate via email the next morning, I approved it immediately, he showed up to do the work that very afternoon, and he was finished with the work by 5pm! MAGIC. He completed the work swiftly, rigorously, efficiently, and cleanly. The AC box is secure, accurately placed based on expectation, and perfectly fits a classic AC window unit. LastMile provided me with several pricing options and products to choose form and made their recommendations based on their experience and knowledge. I had done my own research with other solar companies/manufacturers but LastMile provided me with best pricing and installation options. Unlike other solar companies, LastMile does not represent any solar panel manufacturer and offered me with a range of solar panel and inverter options to choose from. LastMile created the required drawings and documentation for the town permit, electric company (EverSource) and SREC credits. The electrical work and roof work (installation of rails, flashing etc.) was done very professionally. The town inspectors were very happy with the quality of their work and approved the installation with no issues. In order to qualify for the state incentives, I had to rush my installation and LastMile finished the job well before the deadline. The town permit, installation and approval all happened in less than a week! The post installation customer support and communication has been wonderful so far. Earlier this month there was some issue with the software upgrade for the inverter but LastMile took care of it immediately. I am glad that I picked LastMile energy for my solar installation and customer support. I would strongly recommend them given their professional attitude, quality of work and comparative pricing.
