Both team members I interacted with were very pleasant. The order was up quickly. But most importantly, both of our sandwiches - one cheeseburger and one bacon cheeseburger - were super yummy. We grabbed them to eat on the road and both commented that the burgers were better than the $22 and $24 dollar burgers we had at a restaurant in Taos the night before. The teen age clerk was rude and disinterested, I had to find here because she was off gabbing with the clerk at the front of the store. Eating here only because Walsenburg has very limited choices, especially in the off-season, the burger and fries were serviceable mass produced fare. This was another stop our big road trip. We have been to other A&W's and the food was very similar. Great selection and nice to see a variety other than burgers and fries. The prices seem a little high. It was almost $60 bucks for a family of four. Considering it was mid quality fast food, the prices do not seem in line. read more

Nothing to write home about, the guy who eventually made my Oreo Ice Cream blend was sitting on the counter blocking the menu so I couldn't see the pricing. I had to walk around the corner where the stools are placed just to see behind him. Even when I did that he still sat there. As I was grabbing my phone to take a snapshot of him he finally got off his butt and watched as the young girl behind the counter made someone else's drink. No greeting from either of them, she just stood there until I said the first word. I ordered my ice cream and there was no exchange of a thank you or smile. Meh, I'd avoid the rude service of I were you, if you're craving ice cream or a float, make one yourself...at least you can smile in the mirror at yourself and make a better impression than these two. read more

Tucked into the back of the gas station, they were a sight for sore eyes. The menu board has no breakfast items on it, however they had a hand typed menu taped to the counter which had a wide breakfast selection. I ordered biscuits and gravy, and then a side of three hash browns. The biscuits really were amazing, however as tasty as the hash browns were, they were small. They're not really hash browns, more like medallions. I suggest getting six instead of three. He had to make food for a trucker before he could make food for me, but even still the wait was not very long. Also the employee was smiling and professional. Definitely planned on stopping back here again on the way out of Colorado and only reason I didn't was because time did not permit. read more

I don't know what to say about this place. On our first pass through this town we stopped for root beer floats. I mean where else would I go for a root beer float. Anways, the first time through town on the way to the Great Sand Dunes, and they were out of ice cream. Really? Out of ice cream... So we left.. The next day we were coming back through town on the way back to town, and they had just started making ice cream for the day. This was 330pm. I mean, they've had all day. We were told to come back in 30 minutes and "Maybe," the ice cream would be done. I would just recommend going next door to the KFC/Taco Bell. They give better service. I mean it's not the best food in either case, but you'll get what you want next door. This A&W is inside of an Acorn truck stop, and there is minimal seating. I believe there are 5 bar stools, and 2 actual booth seatings for two people each. In the end, skip over this place if at all possible! read more

Poor service. Cashier was incompetent, easily flustered and could not get our order right. Only given 2/3 of the food we paid for. Unfortunately, we were almost to the highway without any way of turning around when we discovered their error! No napkins, no forks, no condiments provided on a to go order... It is not very delicious and the workers are complete imbeciles; when I told them no sauce they removed everything, when I said ketchup only they also put mustard on, and when I ordered my chicken tenders they didn't come with sauce. They messed up 3 out of 4 orders. read more
