His burger had a gray mushroom sauce on it that made the burger sloppy. Andrew enjoyed it. My burger was not your typical burger. It seems to be hand made and had some seasoning on it. So, we decided to pick someplace else. While driving down the street we saw My Place Restaurant and a big sign stating "Families Welcome." I asked the bartender if it was OK to bring my family in and she said "of course" but only until 9pm (there is some law about no minors after a certain time apparently). They offer basic hamburgers and bar food. The one item that did not fit into this category was a steak sandwich, which I had. In spite of being a top sirloin, it was tender and very tasty and I was impressed. The food the rest of my family ordered was equally good. They seemed to care about the quality of the food. In the end, this place is trying to be a restaurant but they are really a bar and pool hall at heart. There was a lot of colorful language being thrown around, but nothing too bad that my kids have not heard before. I probably would dine elsewhere if I was with my family, but if I was looking for a bar and burger joint with some local color, I would return for sure.

Those were likely the best yam fries that I've ever had, not that I order them all that often. Our sandwiches and burger were both good and very good value considering the price. Yes this is definitely one of the better places to eat for at least 100 kms in any direction.
