We drove out here from Calgary on a visit to the dinosaur museum. The restaurant is on a side street in a modest building with good on and off street parking. The dining room was not too large but was made efficient with table placement. We ordered at the counter then were assigned a table by the woman who took our order. There were a few other patrons when we arrived. Our food came out in about ten minutes. I had a double cheeseburger with onion rings and Andrew had a mushroom burger. His burger had a gray mushroom sauce on it that made the burger sloppy. Andrew enjoyed it. My burger was not your typical burger. It seems to be hand made and had some seasoning on it. It was a bit too salty and and also kind of tough. It was good though. The onion rings were typical. Business really picked up while we were there with many more customers. We had supper here tonight. I had the chicken wings with honey/garlic sauce. They were good. Also had french fries which were okay - not great, but not bad. The children's hotdog was a good size, but priced a bit high. The person who took our order was friendly and helpful. Part of the reason we came here was that they advertised 100% natural beef. My wife has allergies to various ingredients - the reason we chose this restaurant was because of the natural beef. Traveling through Drumheller on our way to the forgotten corner and stumbled across this place. My SO had a bacon cheeseburger and it was a classic seasoned dinner burger, served on a lightly toasted bun with lettuce, tomato, pickles and mayo. Classic cheddar cheese not just a Kraft Singles piece of plastic. I ordered the Santa Fe pizza. Loaded with huge chunks of bell peppers, chicken, sliced tomatoes, and the perfect amount of hot banana peppers. Both of us were beyond satisfied and enjoyed our meal. If you're daring or starving they have a 24 oz burger or a 18" ~ 6 lb pizza to try. The milk shakes were delicious; and if you're going to order a pizza, either order 2 or add a glass of water on the side. This is because you're going to be done your drink before your food arrives they're so good. The staff were friendly, quick to tidy the tables as they were emptying and very polite. Cool little spot in Drumheller. Everything was made to order and the milkshake menu was astonishing, over 50 flavours to choose from. Ordered a double bacon cheese and while the beef has been frozen, it was still delicious. The onion rings and fries were hit and crispy, seasoned perfectly. Ordered the magma wings (2nd hottest) and holy smokes were they spicy. Coming from a Mexican household, I'm more than used to spicy food, but this was another monster. We selected this establishment based on its positive reviews and the fact that my little nephew really wanted a Burger. When we arrived, there was a long line up so we hoped it would be very good. Unfortunately, after we ordered we found out that many people waited a good hour for their food. Regrettably, there was no prior indication of the extensive wait time when we placed our order. Had we been aware of this delay, we might have opted for an alternative dining spot. It was only after some time that the host began to inform customers about the wait. They even stopped taking orders 1 hour later once we actually got our food. Overall, we were disappointed with the food. The burger patties were noticeably not made in house; instead, they appeared to be mass-produced. Given that this restaurant had garnered recognition on the show "You Gotta Eat Here," I had envisioned a spectacular burger, only to be met with a rather average offering. Furthermore, both my mother and I got sick after drinking the milkshake. We were certain that the milkshakes were the culprit, as no other members of our group experienced any health issues, and we were the sole consumers of the shakes. On a more positive note, the service was good. The host did feel bad that we all had to wait. Nevertheless, I believe that all customers should have been informed of the anticipated delay at the time of placing their orders. Such wonderful people!! Arrived at the Town of Drumheller, AB to visit the Royal Tyrrell Museum, and wanted lunch before starting our tour at the Museum, found this Bistro on Yelp, and glad we did! One thing that stands out is how warm people are here, later we found out that both of them are owners ( husband & wife ). They made this place very welcoming and you feel like you are visiting the home of an old friend! Both the Mushroom Burger and the Club Sandwich were made to order, I ordered the Double Patty with Mushroom Sauce, and it was a true meal in itself! The amount of beef with the rich mushroom sauce can be had without the bun and you will still feel satisfied! Classic Club House has chicken, bacon, tomatoes, lettuce, pickles and cheese! Wonderfully made, it went really well with the Home Made Coleslaw!! Cute joint that serves burgers, pizza and more. Their milkshakes are notably good and the number of flavours is mindblowing. Their hamburgers are good, and quite large. The burger patty quite dense and had a spice in it that I didn't personally care for, however it was juicy and perfectly cooked. The fries were great. Crispy and hot. They don't take orders over the phone, you have to go in to order ( what's the difference no one knows). 2.I called early in the day to just make sure what time they were opened till. Road trip eats!! Found this little gem in Dino town (aka: Drumheller) located in downtown area with plenty of street parking this family owned "diner style" restaurant was featured in "you've got to eat here". We were greeted very quickly as it was a quiet night and was explained how to order. Menus were on the screen, you pay at the till then seat yourself, they will bring out your food once it's ready. We ordered the Mammoth burger, 24oz of seasoned patty covered with shredded lettuce, tomato, pickles and house sauce. This burger is served with 8" bun that was soft and chewy, eating it was messy but totally worth it, beef patty was well seasoned and moist. We shared it between 4 person and we were stuffed! Also ordered their poutine, the fries were tender and crispy but they were overly generous with salt (you can pick your own choice of shredded mozzarella or cheese curd), we picked the cheese curd, cheese tasted standard and nothing special. Gravy was a great sticky consistency but lack of flavour. I would recommend trying their milkshakes! They have so many flavours, we order chocolate, vanilla and cookie n' cream. Their milkshake is made the old fashioned way with ice cream, it was thick and delicious, not too sweet. We all think vanilla tasted best! Diner itself is clean and small, all tables are decorated with drawing/writing. I don't know why everyone raves about this place. I had it twice. Both times were extremely disappointing. Soggy wet buns( I suspect it was from the lettuce. Bernie didn't even apologize for our soggy burgers. He claimed its because they "are so juicy" umm our meat was dry and unseasoned. He wants to believe someone put me up to this , lol. I heard about Bernie & the Boys Bistro from "You Gotta Eat Here" and the burger was as good as it was described on TV. The ingredients tasted fresh and the portions are generous. I ordered their speculos milkshake flavour and it tastes true to description! If you love speculos cookies, I recommend this flavour. In my opinion, the prices are a bit higher than other burger joints but you get what you pay for; a fresh and tastey burger. Alright, time to review this place... Okay, definitely the hype was way too exaggerated. The restaurant itself is in need of renovations. It's not only small, but looks like it's falling apart. The ordering system is pretty good, you line up, pay, and then wait for the waitresses to bring your food to you. We ordered the mammoth burger, calamari, taco salad, and a milkshake(don't remember the flavour as it was really not that memorable). The mammoth burger was dry, lacking of any flavour other than salty, and just overall disappointing. The calamari tasted like it was definitely frozen and pre packaged, the taco salad was extremely salty(better off ordering one from taco time). I thought the burger would at least be worth the drive to Drumheller, but sadly it is not. We tried to like the food, but everything was just salty and dry. We thought that this would be the highlight of our Drumheller day trip, but alas it will always be the Tyrell Museum. You definitely do not have to eat here. read more

Ordered a take-out pizza and git it uncooked! Got it home, took a bite, and spit it out. Raw. Had to throw it in the oven for 15 minutes. It was missing two toppings, one being Feta - pretty important to the over all flavour since it was supposed to be a Greek pizza! The Ceasar salad was soggy - drenched in a very salty dressing. Third time here...and it might be the last. Took 25 minutes to get our order. My Double G's burger was NOT cooked.. A lot of dark pink starting a half inch into the patties. When I got a new one, it was missing the diablo sauce I asked for and it had the pickles that I DIDN'T want. The burger was simply a sloppy mess. The table next to us had to send one kids burger back TWICE because it wasn't done properly. You get a lot of food for the money, but I have found the quality has gone down. Sad. read more

WOW. This was the most amazing burger place I've been to a long long time. While the table service is for delivery of food only, it did not take away from the mystique and feel of Bernie and the boys restaurant. I made one large mistake when I ordered, I did not ask the size of the burgers. I ordered a single for my wife and a double for myself. I expected these to be three maybe four oz burgers each, like you get a normal restaurant. Boy was I surprised. The the burger was huge, an incredibly tasty.The fries were exceptional and well-cooked. My wife had onion rings and they were extremely hot and tasty. As a treat we ordered chocolate milkshakes, this is not something we have had in a very long time. The milkshakes were incredibly thick and tasty. These are no cheap knockoffs, these milkshakes were the real thing. For anybody traveling to Drumheller alberta, this is a must not miss. But be warned, the portions are huge. read more

I am basing this review only on their hamburger. I ordered a double patty with cheese. ($12.08 with tax included). When I received burger, it was huge. 2 1/2 in thick patties and as round as a hockey puck on a nice bun. Looked delish, my mouth was watering. I was disappointed, the patties seemed pre made and the texture of the meat was grainy and rubbery. It tasted as if it was frozen then thawed in a microwave and grilled on a flat top fryer. Also the cheese was thin and you barely tasted it. I could barely eat a third of it. The after taste had to be cleared by eating mint. I will not eat there again. read more

Tried hit up the restaurant before the lunch rush. Tried to place an order for pickup via phone. Couldn't find the number. Only number we could find said it was out of service. We drove to the restaurant - placed our order and had to wait which was fine. Went back to pick it up and had to wait an additional 15 mins & then they still missed part of my kids meals. This was our 3 time eating here over the last 4 years. We gave it a real shot as we figured maybe it was just an off day but nope that's just how they operate. There seating has to be against fire codes as they fill every table and then keep packing you into this tiny little restaurant in the standing over top of guests that are eating section. If you and your family stick around long enough to try the food it's sub par at best. Definitely not worth the wait. We have tried numerous things now and the only thing that stands out is there milkshakes. First off, I get up to the till and the guy starts talking to me like I'm with the people I didn't walk in with. Then he starts to explain how all the tables have a reserved sign so that people don't sit down before they placed an order, as if I had tried. When I tell him that I wanted a double bacon cheeseburger and my own guacamole wrap, he proceeds to warn me, about its size, like it needs a warning on it. Then he asks me if this food is all for me. To which I reply, that "it is my food but that I won't I'll be eating it all myself", as if that should matter to him, or it was his business to ask who's going to eat it. Even before I got up to the till, I'm standing in line and two Asian girls kept going in and out of the kitchen and kept walking in front of me, quite closely, without excusing themselves each time. While I was waiting for my order, the kid who took my order proceeds to start to set my table. It's his own fault for not thinking to ask me if I was staying or going. I then explained that I wanted my order to go. When it was ready, one of the two Asian girls came over with the food in a bag, and asked me if I got The double bacon cheeseburger and the guacamole wrap. I said no. I pointed to the bag and I asked if that was the order. She said yes, and I replied that I didn't get it because she still had it. Suggestions: put a sign on each table asking people to place their order before taking a seat, rather than putting a reserved sign. Put up photos of your food, in actual size, so that you don't need to train your staff to warn people about your portion sizes Teach your employees common courtesy, and how to properly explain what they're asking, to avoid future confusion. I ordered the avocado club wrap expecting cold bacon left over from the morning breakfast and slices of turkey breast from the deli, instead I got freshly roasted turkey breast still hot in big chunks with freshly cooked bacon and delicious avocado and lettuce. It's greatly exceeded my expectations! My significant other had a cheeseburger, a single patty, she commented that it was delicious and the single is definitely large enough for most people. While I scarfed down my burger, my fries were greasy, undercooked and therefore disgusting. My wife, who is a vegetarian, ordered the veggie sandwich, took one bite and couldn't eat any more. The bun had an odd consistency and tasted like the undercooked pizza crust that I had from a pizza hut a few weeks prior. It's a good thing this place was featured in one of the pamphlets at the tourist information center or we may have passed it by. This is the quintessential neighborhood burger joint. The staff are friendly, the prices are reasonable, the décor was actually pleasingly unique (loved the table tops!!), and the meal portions were HUGE! So huge, in fact, that I felt really guilty when I could only make it through about half my mushroom burger and fries (as always, I would advocate for a "petite" burger option for pip-squeaks like me). I tried a cookie dough milkshake - I wasn't sure if it really tasted like cookie dough, but it was delicious all the same. Being that this place is located right downtown and not to far from the tourist information center, I am sure they benefit greatly from the tourist traffic. Stopped in with a buddy for lunch on a soggy long weekend Friday. I have not been in this establishment since about 2004. Same place as I recall, so I was excited to try a burger and it didn' take long to figure out what I wanted: Mushroom Burger! My friend ordered the pulled pork poutine. In addition, there are two large meals: the 25oz Mammoth Burger and the Megasaurus Pizza. Bring an extra stomach for these beasts! Food arrived hot and fresh. Mushroom Burger is good size (I wussed out and ordered a single patty). Buddy's pulled pork was large although not the large order. We both dug in! The mushroom sauce on my burger was yummy and lava hot. I ended up having to use a knife and fork (this also prevented most of it from sliding down the front of my shirt - awesome!) The onion rings were ok, standard GFS product, maybe a little surprised that they weren't more interesting. The poutine had cheese curd and very generous portion of pork - dee-lish!
