I'm guessing this McDonald's is near a school because it was packed with rowdy kids when I visited…read more Despite the chaos, the staff remained patient, professional, and kept things moving efficiently. You place your order at a kiosk, pick it up at the counter when your number is called, and can either take it to go or head upstairs to the seating area. One thing I enjoy when traveling is visiting McDonald's in other countries and trying menu items we don't have in the U.S. This time I ordered the veggie burger and poutine. Both were surprisingly good. The fries were hot and crispy, the cheese curds and gravy were flavorful, and the veggie patty was crispy on the outside while still tasting fresh. I could actually see whole vegetables in the patty, which made it feel less processed than expected. This is definitely a high-traffic location, and the dining area can get messy pretty quickly. That said, orders were taken and fulfilled accurately and fast. I'd happily return--just maybe not during the school rush.

The whole place seemed dirty and greasy, and the bakery case looked like a McDonald's marketing team's worst nightmare; nothing in there appeared even remotely appetizing. I could not wait to leave and we only came here because the A&W down the street closes at 9 pm and they wouldn't serve us, despite the big "24 hours" neon sign in their window...

Order has to be placed and paid for, prior to getting to the table, on the upper level. Service was mediocre and we were given a beeper that would go on, when the order is ready for pickup and bring to the table. I was expecting the place to be packed for lunch on the last day of the year, and interestingly enough, it was rather quiet. While I wrote earlier that the decor and furniture was inviting but what good is that when it was barricaded, and therefore not accessible. I tried the Royal poutine that has multiple toppings, including smoked meat, bacon etc. Quality was just plain simple with the toppings being very dry. Smoke meat has to be moist and juicy, but was anything but this. The burger was just plain ok and nothing extraordinary.

Didn't feel like traveling further for breakfast so my partner stopped in and ordered while I waited outside with our pup. Took about 15 minutes and then we took our bagels a few steps away to sit in a public area and eat. I felt obligated to try a real Montréal bagel so I believe we paid a whopping $15 each for these. Being from New York I'm a bit of a bagel snob so I kind of knew these wouldn't be up to par with my standards. I will say I did enjoy the taste but as predicted I prefer a New York bagel. Especially at this cost! Granted we were in a tourist area so I probably should have known better and just traveled further to one of the dedicated St. Viateur locations.

The staff were super friendly and walked us through the ordering process. They gave us great insight into the meat flavor options and their favorites. I chose the volcano chicken which wasn't very spicy but was VERY flavorful. This is the kind of healthy, quick meal I love. The interior of the restaurant is kept very clean and there's ample seating. I will be returning!

I did not know what to expect but as I visited one it is essentially using the chipotle model of build your own bowl and selecting your accoutrements. It's a simple menu consisting of chicken, seasoned in your choice of 4 flavors with 5 choices of base (brown rice, bulgar wheat, quinoa, lettuce or kale), 7 choices of sauce and vegetable toppings. Ordering was relatively easy starting with size of portion then based on size you can choose how you want your chicken flavored. Workers then assemble the bowl right in front of you production line style starting with the base, vegetable toppings, sauce and finally the chicken which is grilled then flavored and put in the bowl. The process went smooth and quick as they were really efficient with the assembly line. The taste of the flavorings in the chicken as well as the sauces made for a wonderful lunch. I was stuffed not sure how full I would be with the Rouge Bowl, I think I should have went with a mini. If you are in Canada, find a Poulet Rouge as it was a tasty and quick meal that was really delicious and fresh.
