Patty Slaps is such a fitting name for this establishment. The burgers are insanely addicting. I've come back twice because it's that good. Each time I ordered the Psycho Patty and Fries. The psycho patty consists of Double Grilled AAA Canadian Beef Patties (Selected Cuts, Daily Ground), Double Yellow American Cheese, Caramelized Onions, Homemade Mayo on their Signature Fresh Daily Baked Pretzel Bun. The first time I ordered it I wasn't sure how I felt about the homemade mayo, it was a tad too strong for my palate but I took a few more bites and I was hooked. They have a few local Quebec (from La Knowlton brewery) brews available for purchase, as well as drafts - light beer, blonde, IPA and brown ale. The menu is quite small - 5 different kinds, but each of them is a doozy, so bring your appetite should you choose to eat here. They have an open kitchen concept so you can watch the burger wizards at action from your seat - seating is picnic bench style in the center with traditional tables peppered around it. Service was quick, attentive and friendly. The Crunch-a-delic burger comes with crunchy fries, double patty, lettuce, pickle, onion and an "island" sauce, which I'm assuming comes with pineapple since it did have a sweet edge to it. The Bacon blaze is of the style of a traditional "Western", meaning the bacon comes with onion rings and cheese. Both burgers came in pretzel buns which I thought gave a nice heft and structure to the monster ingredients within. Trendy burger joint with overpriced food and long waits. I heard about this place on social media, I love smash burgers and big portions. These were advertised as huge and decadent, but were on the smaller side. The restaurant is always packed, we were here on Friday Oct 11, 2024 around 1PM, ordered through the self-serve screens and waited a good 15-20 mins or so before food was ready. Seems they anticipate this type of line up as they built a seating area specifically for waiting. I disliked the small selection of burgers and how they are no combo options - everything is an extra add-on. Most burgers are around $15 each, then you add another $3 for a soda or $5 for a side. It all becomes too expensive for what it is. Something comparable could be Five Guys - but they offer more customization and faster service. This location also has mainly high stool seating and long communal tables so not ideal if you like being in your own space. You are stuck sharing with others. Taste wise - burgers lacked seasoning, sauce and buns were good but not oustanding. I wouldn't come back. read more

I walked into this place on a Sunday night after cruising round Rue St. Catherine. I placed an order for 3 on the kiosk machine for 3 burgers and an order of poutine. I was so surprised to see the total came out to 55 CAD. What? Additionally, the burger size that was shown on the menu was deceiving. It looked huge-- each burger running about 15 CAD, with extra charge for vegetable toppings. Nonetheless, I was very hungry, so I followed through with it. The service in this place? Terrible. I waited 20 minutes for my food, and when asking about the status I didn't get the best response and my bag also had the wrong name on the receipt, so when I asked about that I got attitude. Unprofessional! I ordered 2 plain cheeseburgers with lettuce, and 1 bacon blaze burger with extra vegetable toppings. The burgers were OK, but very greasy. The pretzel bun had no salt, and did not taste very pretzel-y. The onion rings were tasty on the burger. The burgers were also very small, which was not this way on the menu, very disappointing and not worth the price. The poutine was also not great at all, it was too submerged in gravy and had too much melted cheese over the top. It was very soupy, making fries were wet. Our favourite burger was the Chrunch-A-Delic; it was juicy, flavourful, with loads of fresh toppings. Ordering is easy you can either order on the touchpads at the entrance or at the cash. We waited roughly 15mins for our order. There was someone constantly cleaning tables and trays which I think is really good especially during rush hour. The vibe of the place is very hip and industrial. I would go back to try the poutine! The burger was delish, loved the dressing, onion rings, American cheese with bacon but the big hit was the pretzel bun!! They only have pre set specialty burgers that start at $12. And when you customize and delete a patty you get no credit. Add a patty and they charge $3.50 xtra. No credits for customization deletions. As an experiment I deleted all add-ons including the patties themselves. Basically I was left with just the bun. It still cost $12. read more
